WOWsers! So much fun that i went two days in a row.....(or my life isn't too exciting). But…read morestill....I'm a girl with a hankering for gambling, so this competitive little joint scratches my itch. The people here are regulars, so be prepared to be a the "new kid on the block"; nothing rude, just people used to seeing the same other folk, and they tend to have their (not so) designated seats, so be aware if you accidentally sit in Mr. *Jones* seat.....he may politely ask you to move down a chair or two. But that's what i like about this atmosphere. It's a kind of family that respects the game and one's privacy, but still takes it seriously. Being a novice, I was confused and asked quite a few questions....they go pretty fast, calling out the numbers in a steady flow, and expecting the audience to understand the game. But, once they see you are a serious student, they will offer advice and even tips to help you succeed. I found today (the second day) that the electronic version is the way to go. I'm ADHD and found the paper version to be way complicated and too much to keep up with. Swallow your pride, save your mind exercize for soduko, and save your blood pressure the extra stress by giving into the bingo machine. It will also keep your marker blotting stains to a minimun which takes multi laundry washes and scrubs to the skin. I'll be back....and hope to see some new faces too!

I normally play bingo in the Longview area and since I'm here on business with my husband I decided…read moreto find the closest bingo hall there was a play during the day. I found Pioneer bingo in Arlington that plays from 12 to 4 PM. I decided to go to the second session which starts at 1:45 PM, When you first walk into the door you actually walk into the smoking section which is a very large area and is heavily smoky with many people sitting there smoking while you're trying to buy your bingo cards. That is extremely disappointing because there's no way you could leave without smelling like cigarettes. The non-smoking is located next to the cashier and there's no door to separate the two rooms. I was extremely disappointed to find this out but decided to stay anyways and play. But non-smoking room is fairly small maybe there was 15 of us that's out in the room. To play they give you three bingo faces per card which is five dollars and they sell him in two, three or four packets and each additional pack it is worth five dollars. There was nine games that varied from $200-$600 and pay outs. The reason I gave this place a 2 was one because of the cigarette smokes it doesn't separate the two rooms very well and secondly the bingo players in there are not very friendly at all. I ran into two women that were very rude to me for being a first-time player to play there. I've never had to deal with that at any bingo hall I've ever gone to. So that was really discouraging when I first started to play. It really made me feel uncomfortable even playing there but after a while there was a couple ladies at my table and they started to be nice to me so that helped a little bit towards the end. They do play several pulltabs throughout the games so that's additional ways to win their dollar per card. I probably will go again just because I'm here for another for five days and the pricing is not that bad at all. They do not play any machines here so your chances are better.

Late-night BINGO is where it's at. For $10 you get a full set of 12 games. They do several early birds as well as pull tabs, if you're in the mood to play more and spend more simultaneously. The have a snack bar with typical fare: burgers, fries, sandwiches, sodas, nachos with that orangy cheese. A large coffee will only run you $1. Sweet. You can bring in your own stuff as well. Anything goes. Takeout, drinks or even beer. There's a non-smoking room, however, if you don't enter as a smoker, you may leave as one. When you open the doors, it's like walking into a fog machine from a bad 80's music video only it can give you cancer and make your hair and clothes stink. In the way of BINGO halls, this one has everything! On your birthday, you even play a regular pack for a penny! Cool.

Basically, you pay a membership fee to play and since I wasn't playing, I also had to pay a membership fee of $10 (good for the whole year) to be in the building - thank God they had a snack bar for me to sit at because the place was packed with a tournament. The girls at the bar were very nice. Soft drinks and coffee are complimentary and they have snacks like chips and crackers for $2 and candy bars for $2-$3. It looked like they could also have meals brought in if you were planning to spend several hours there. We came during the day and spent 1-2 hours and then came back later that evening when the crowds cleared out. I was getting tired and a lady helped me find a more comfortable area to sit in and even changed the channel on one of the TV's so I could watch a movie while my bf played which I thought was really thoughtful. Bathrooms were super clean and they also have free tampons and maxi pads which is a nice touch as it encourages women to come and play too and feel welcomed.
