I cannot say enough great things about them. Then RSI pulled out of seaside. They had a different director every year, a different curriculum every 6 months to a year, and around 6+ teachers left every year after our initial wonderful year. This school is struggling to figure out who it wants to be- do they want to be trilingual or do they want to be Montessori. Whatever they want to be, they don't tell all the parents about it. Positives: the teachers who have been with seaside the past few years are very nice Negatives: New directors every year, which meant a new curriculum and new vibe every year The administration who controls the directors did not have anything in place to keep the school afloat such as policies and procedures When I tried to reach out to admins (Ms Perla is particularly terrible at communication) to ask them questions, I go no response for well over a year. It should not take a year to tell parents the answer to simple questions. Last year's director screamed in children's faces and while a number of us complained about the discipline, the admins did nothing. Nada. I understand from a recent parent meeting we recently attended that state licensing is involved and they told parents licensing might reach out to parents and/or ask our children questions. Overall, if you're looking for your average school to keep your kid alive until 5pm this is fine. If you're looking for an advanced education, I would not recommend it.

The teachers are genuinely caring, patient, and attentive -- you can tell they love what they do. We use both the before- and after-care programs, and it has been a huge relief to know she's in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment throughout the day. She is always coming home with new art projects, songs, and even little bits of Chinese and Spanish she's picked up alongside her English! It's incredible to see how much she is learning in such a joyful, play-based way. The other families are really lovely too -- even just from quick interactions at pickup and drop-off, there's a real sense of community here. If you're looking for a preschool that balances warmth, structure, and fun with an enriching curriculum, I highly recommend Seaside Costa Mesa. We are so grateful we found them!

Miss Portia and Miss Katie are nothing short of amazing!! Some people are just born to be teachers and they both are. I don't know how they do it. You can actually feel the love they have for each individual child that comes through the doors. My son loves them and tells me he wants to stay at Sunshine and doesn't want to go to kindergarten. I found Sunshine through Google. We came and sat in a class and were blown away. My son took to it like a fish to water and signed him up right there on the spot. I wanted a Co-op preschool. Not just because you can't beat the price, but also I wanted to be able to work in the classroom and see my child grow and flourish. I also loved that Sunshine is like a little community. Every parent there wants the same thing and works together to make sure the children get the most out of their experience. I can honestly say that I have made friendships here that will last a lifetime. Another reason we were sold on Sunshine is the amount of supervision the children get. Not only is there a teacher but also four parents working at all times to help. I know some other preschools that only had one teacher and have heard the horror stories. I always felt like my son was safe when I dropped him off at school and to me that was priceless! We can't wait to come back to Sunshine with our youngest, we would never go anywhere else. My daughter loves school and Miss Crystal so much, and so do I...being able to actively participate in her first years of school has really put my mind at ease! Crystal truly loves these kiddos like her own, and is so patient with them, and from our very first day here, I've felt nothing but 100% trust and peace of mind when my daughter is at school. We still have the rest of this year and next year here before we have to move on to elementary school, and I'm already feeling anxious about leaving Sunshine, Crystal, and Portia! We couldn't be happier!

My older child was in her class previously, and my younger child is currently with her, so we have had the benefit of knowing her over time--and across two very different kids. She is genuinely invested in the children she cares for. Both of my kids have felt safe, supported, and happy in her classroom. She has a nurturing presence but also knows how to create structure and encourage independence in a way that really helps them thrive. I have only seen professionalism and dedication from her and we feel very lucky to have had her as part of our children's lives.

My experience with Back Bay was extremely disappointing…read more At first, the facility looked clean and organized, which gave me the impression it was a good and safe school. Because of that, I never would have imagined something like this could happen under Mrs. Priya's supervision. After noticing a change in my kid's behavior, which I had asked about a few days earlier, I decided to arrange an earlier pickup. Upon arrival, one my kid guardian saw Mrs. Sharon using what she described as a "rocking" method to help my child fall asleep. What was seen however, was very distressing and did not look like rocking. The way my child was being handled felt inappropriate and unsafe. Rough handling is completely unnecessary and inadmissible. Seeing my child treated that way left visibly distressed, and as a parent it was heartbreaking and disturbing. I withdrew my child from the school immediately after this incident. There are definitely other schools out there. Unfortunately, this was a very upsetting personal experience for our family. Please let's review the video together Mrs Pryia and go over what happened that day.

Mrs. Martha has been such a gift for us. My daughter is usually very shy and takes a while to warm up to new people, but she completely adores Mrs. Martha. When she's having a hard moment or feeling unsure, she automatically goes to her for comfort, which says a lot about the trust and bond they've built. You can just tell she has a special way with kids. The center also keeps me updated on how my daughter is doing what she ate, how she napped, if anything unusual happened. Those little updates mean a lot and give me peace of mind while I'm away. As any mother we wanna know our children are being cared for and these amazing women definitely do that. I also have to mention Ms. Jazmin, the director. On the very first day, I started tearing up when I dropped my daughter off. Ma. Jazmin comforted me and shared that she went through the same emotions when she left her own child at daycare for the first time. Just that reassurance and understanding made me feel better. Another thing worth mentioning is that their rates are much more affordable compared to most places in the area, especially considering how popular the location is being right near The CAMP. It's getting the best of both world's quality care at a price that doesn't feel overwhelming. We honestly feel lucky to have found Giant Step. It's been such a positive experience, and I'm grateful every day knowing my daughter is in such good hands. Overall, everyone I've met here is warm, approachable, and clearly cares about the kids. They even do little events for families throughout the year, which makes the place feel more like a community.

It's a smaller school, but I feel like my daughter gets more attention here than she might elsewhere, plus they are affordable and super flexible which I appreciate. She's definitely learning too, which I was worried about. Being a typical 3 year old when I ask her about her day she focuses on what snacks she ate and who she played with, but today she impressed me by reciting all her months (which she definitely didn't know before she started) and counting to 49 (she got stuck on 50, but I'm still impressed). Thanks to the great staff here, so glad we found you!
