Nobis Preschool has been everything we hoped for and more. I first toured when I was still very early in my pregnancy as a first-time parent with no local friends with kids to ask for recommendations. So I did a ton of research on all the schools in the area, did your after tour, and took a lot of notes. I kept coming back to Nobis at the top of my list. There is so much care and attention to detail everywhere in the school that stood out. It's been 6 months since my son started at Nobis and I continue to be impressed with the school. The teachers pay attention to where he is developmentally, they get excited about his milestones, and they go out of their way to make his days good ones. And as new parents who are figuring it out as we go, their guidance has meant just as much to us as the care they give him. Melinda, the director, is great about keeping parents in the loop. She's responsive, warm, and clearly on top of everything. We are so happy we chose Nobis! read more

Choosing infant care is never easy, but from the moment we took our very first tour of Nobis Preschool, we knew we found a truly special place. A massive part of that is thanks to Melinda, who has been absolutely amazing from day one. She is warm, friendly, genuinely cares for all the kids, and puts a ton of effort into ensuring every child feels completely at home. It is also clear how much she values her team, making sure the staff are well taken care of, which creates such a positive and loving atmosphere. There is a clear, reliable line of communication to get regular updates throughout the day, and Melinda is always approachable and attentive whenever you have questions or concerns. She ensures the kids receive healthy snacks and constantly goes above and beyond for every single child. The events Melinda plans are so incredibly fun that they keep the kids excited to come back every day! They also maintain a special keepsake binder for every single child, even the infants, filled with all of their arts and crafts. It is such a beautiful, tangible token of their time at Nobis that we will cherish forever. This level of dedication meant everything to our family. My baby was born premature, and Melinda did everything in her power to make sure all of his special needs were met with the utmost care, patience, and attention. We were completely heartbroken when we had to leave the daycare, and the only reason we did was because we moved away from the area. We actually continued making the long drive to bring him here for quite some time because it was difficult finding a new place that could match the love and security he felt at Nobis. If you are looking for a preschool where your child will be genuinely cherished, I cannot recommend Melinda and Nobis Preschool enough! read more

I waited a long time to write this because I wanted to make sure it wasn't my son the problem. My son has special needs in this location refused to help him. They treated him like he was the worst child they have ever enrolled in their school. He wasn't even there for two months taking him out of that school was the best decision that I ever made. I hope no parent with child I have special need will ever have to go through the same thing I went with the school. I would never recommend this to anybody. I aside from them telling me what language I I need to communicate with my child. My son had hearing loss to begin with there was no way he was gonna understand what anybody was telling him and instead of helping him, they kicked them out of the school telling me that they could not handle a child like him so no I would never recommend this place to anybody. read more

Deciding on infant care for our newborn son was a hard thing to do, having to give up our child so young was hard for my wife and I. Nobis made it easy, the second we walked in for a tour we saw the kids playing outdoors having so much fun and we knew this was the place! The price is extremely reasonable for the care, attention, activities, and location. Melinda was very easy to work with, when we thought we'd have to start early she was very helpful working with us on a start date. The teachers are all magnificent and we are so grateful for the care our child gets on a daily basis. GO NOBIS! read more

I really wanted to give this preschool a chance. From the outside, it looks like it could use some TLC, but the location is convenient for my family, so I stopped in specifically to inquire about scheduling a tour for my infant. From the moment I walked in, the interaction with the woman at the front desk felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming. I clearly said that I was there to schedule a tour--not expecting to walk in and receive one on the spot. Her response was to explain to me, in a very condescending manner, that they don't do walk-in tours and that "usually daycares have to schedule those." Yes. I know. That's literally why I said I was there to inquire about scheduling one. She eventually looked at the calendar and gave me two available times for Friday, and I selected one. She then asked when I needed care, and when I said September, she told me they had no availability until February, possibly December, and proceeded to explain that "typically daycares don't have availability and all have waitlists." The entire conversation felt as though she assumed I didn't understand how daycare enrollment works, despite me being very clear about what I was asking. Between her tone, facial expressions, and the way she spoke to me, I left feeling like I was being talked down to rather than welcomed as a prospective parent. For comparison, I had just toured another infant daycare in Costa Mesa that was beautiful, clean, welcoming, and had availability for my daughter. It is more expensive, and I will happily pay the difference because the experience was night and day. Maybe nothing was intended by this interaction, but when someone makes you feel as though you don't belong from the moment you walk through the door, you notice it. As a Mexican-American woman, I am also very aware of what it feels like to be stereotyped or underestimated, and unfortunately this interaction left me with that feeling. When parents are considering leaving their infant in someone's care, the first interaction matters tremendously. We need to feel welcomed, respected, and comfortable asking questions--not spoken to as though we don't know what we're doing. Needless to say, I canceled the tour in my mind before I even walked out the door. I would never feel comfortable leaving my baby somewhere after being made to feel that unwelcome during my very first interaction. I hope management takes this as constructive feedback because every family who walks through that door deserves the same level of courtesy and respect, regardless of what someone assumes about them. read more

My child has been attending since January, and We've had such a great experience! The teachers are caring, attentive, and genuinely seem to enjoy working with the kids. The director, Ms. Marchese, is wonderful about keeping parents informed and is always responsive whenever I reach out with questions. She does a great job planning fun special events and activities for the children and families to participate in. We've been very happy here and really appreciate the care they provide! read more

I truly can't say enough good things about this daycare. we've had such a great experience with my two kids in different classrooms. I love how much they do with the kids! There are always fun activities, special programs, and new experiences for them. Even my 11-month-old gets to participate in so much, and my 2-year-old comes home talking about things she did at school. I love seeing how much they're learning and enjoying themselves. The teachers are so sweet and caring and really take the time to get to know each child and their personality. I also really appreciate the communication from their teachers and getting updates about how their day went and what they've been doing in the classroom. The staff as a whole is incredibly welcoming. Melinda, the administrator, always makes a point to greet me and my girls when we come in, which is such a small thing but really makes the daycare feel more personal and welcoming. Leaving your kids while you work is never easy, especially when they're this little, but knowing they're safe, cared for, and having fun makes such a difference. I'm so thankful we found this daycare and truly appreciate everything the teachers, Melinda, and the rest of the staff do for our girls! read more

Horrible owner! Don't know his name and never met him, very hands off, but had to deal with him with our last payment. 3 of my husband's credit cards and my brand new Dependent Care FSA card got alerted for FRADULENT transactions. We found out it was coming from Nobis because that was the only place I used my Dependent Care FSA card and the merchant trying to fraud was the same merchant that tried to charge my husband's cards. Too much of a coincidence! We had already replaced one of my husband's cards before we realized it was coming from Nobis. So his one card and my FSA card were never used anywhere else. The owner dismissed our concerns and denied that his credit cards machine, computer, etc. was compromised and demanded that we pay cash moving forward. What kind of customer service is this? I wish we never gave him 3 months of tuition!!! I transferred my son to a better, cleaner, and more secure school!! good riddance!! His new school also provides diapers, wipes, and sippy cups! Perfect for busy families!! The owner is probably too cheap to provide them! The school is always asking for donations!! In the one month at his new school never once have they asked! And we pay the same amount for tuition! read more

We've had such a wonderful experience at Nobis. Our son started in March 2026 when he was just over 12 months old, initially attending three half days a week. Since then, we've gradually transitioned him to full-time care, and we've been so impressed with how thoughtful and supportive the entire process has been. The director, Melinda, has been wonderful and especially helpful as we transitioned from half days to full days. As first-time parents, choosing a daycare and trusting others with our child was a big decision, and Melinda and the teachers have consistently made us feel comfortable and confident that he is in great hands. Our son absolutely loves his teachers and has made such sweet friendships. We really appreciate how thoughtful and committed the director and staff are to creating programming that is engaging, age-appropriate, and genuinely enjoyable for the kids. It's been so fun to watch how much he has learned and grown since starting. Most importantly, he is genuinely happy to be there. We feel very lucky to have found such a caring school and community for him. read more

My toddler has been going here for about 8 months now and she loves it. At drop off she runs with open arms to her teachers and she tells us about her friends when she gets home. Nobis is affordable, in a great location, and has knowledgeable staff. They use an app so we are provided with updates about upcoming events and photos of our toddler. They serve breakfast, lunch, and snack daily so it's super helpful that we don't have to plan and pack meals everyday. Director Melinda is really easy to get ahold of and has always been quick to answer any of our questions. read more

We've been with Nobis Preschool since our son was just four months old, and I can't say enough good things about our experience. As a parent, finding a daycare that you can fully trust is everything--and Nobis has been that place for us. Ms. Melinda, the director, runs the school with such care and professionalism. From day one, she's made us feel welcomed and supported. Our son's teachers--Ms. Masi, Ms. Melissa, Ms. Dani, and Ms. Garcia--are truly exceptional. They genuinely care about his health, happiness, and development. It's clear in everything they do that they are invested in his well-being. They've helped guide him through so many important milestones and have even supported us as parents with helpful insights and encouragement for continuing his progress at home. I also really appreciate the detailed daily updates they provide on naps, feedings, diaper changes, and sweet little moments from his day. It gives us so much peace of mind. Nobis also does a fantastic job planning fun and enriching summer activities--every week brings something new and exciting that our son looks forward to. You can tell the staff puts a lot of heart and thought into making daycare a joyful place to learn and grow. I wholeheartedly recommend Nobis Preschool to any parent looking for a nurturing, high-quality daycare. It's been a wonderful and meaningful part of our family's journey. read more

Absolutely obsessed with Nobis and so is my son! (17 months old). He was having a really difficult time at an in home daycare before this-so we decided to tour Nobis. He is now always reaching for the teachers in the mornings and blows them kisses goodbye at the end of the day! Highly recommend. read more

Nobis was the best decision for our family. What we looked for in a daycare: price, activities, outdoors, teacher and care quality, and attention to details are just a few of the qualities met. Ms. Melinda and the teachers take such great care of and teach and encourage our son to hit his milestones. once I cross the classroom door he is all smiles for his day to start. we are grateful to have him grow along with this care. read more

We love this place and it's been fun watching my son flourish! read more

When I first started looking for daycare options for our daughter I felt like nowhere I could find offered everything we needed, until we found Nobis. We had to start our daughter at 4mo old, so we needed an infant program that offered a part time schedule, which felt impossible to find. Not only did Nobis offer this, the price was also very reasonable, and I got a great feel when we did the initial tour. Over the last 8 months I've been able to see the care they provide and it's evident in the trust my daughter has with her teachers. There has not once been tears for a drop off, and she's happy when we pick her up too. We are grateful to have found Nobis! read more

We moved our son to Nobis about three months ago after he was not transitioning well at a different daycare and my friend recommended we try Nobis. At his previous daycare he would cry when I dropped him off, cry when I picked him up, and not nap at all. At Nobis he reaches for his teachers when I drop him off and even waves bye to me with a huge smile. The director Melinda has been very communicative and helpful. She organized a bunch of great activities during the summer session including water play days, dress up days, character visits, and themed weeks all through the summer. She offered so much assistance during the onboarding process and gave us a great tour and was patient with me when I forgot to turn in some forms. All of the teachers are friendly and most importantly you can tell they all really love your kid! Couldn't recommend Nobis more. read more

We LOVE nobis! It's down the street from where we live super convenient. The price for child care was also very affordable compared to most places we checked. They offer a lot of services. Food, water, potty training and lots of learning. Always something new going on every week which we love. Melinda the principal is very sweet and nice she's very busy managing the schools but We will still catch her playing with the kids and checking on them throughout the week and updating us daily you can tell she truly cares about the place and the kids. The twins LOVE their teacher ms. Martinez! She's the best we see her everyday and she sends me updates and photos with the app of how they are doing it. Cannot rave about this place more I highly recommend if looking for a reliable and caring daycare center. read more

Nobis Preschool - Our kids at Nobis - Child Care & Day Care Near Me - Costa Mesa, California

We switched our daughter to Nobis in the Fall of 2023 from a larger, more commercial care center because we were looking for a more intimate, family-focused, and community-centered experience. Although she was initially placed in the toddler room, the teachers at Nobis advocated for her transition to the preschool room so her communication and play skills could continue to advance. The teachers are very attentive, we appreciate the ratios, and our daughter seems to love her experience there. An added bonus are the family events - Thanksgiving lunch, doughnuts with dad, muffins with mom, Fall Festival, etc. read more

We have had the best experience and have nothing but positive things to say. Everyone at Nobis is friendly and loving. You can tell the teachers and Melinda truly care about the kids. Our daughter had a hard time transitioning in the beginning and they made sure she felt safe and cared for when she was at school. Her teachers and Melinda are always quick to reply when we contact them. We love that we're able to easily contact them and also love getting photos of her having fun at school. They also provide balanced lunches and snacks which has helped our picky eater eat so many new foods that she would have never ate before!! My child has been at Nobis for a short while but we are very pleased. We were not happy with the previous care center he attended and Nobis has been such a relief. My son started here right after he turned 1 and it was his first daycare experience. From day 1, all of the teachers have been so patient with his transition and are committed to making him comfortable, which eased my mind a lot. He's in the young toddlers program and they are constantly doing fun activities like outdoor time, arts and crafts, bubble machines and music. They have fun special events for the kids (fire fighters and police officers visit the school, etc.) and have cute holiday celebrations. A huge bonus is the food that is provided, which is really healthy, fulsome options and has a wide variety of options! Melinda, the director, is super involved and I constantly see her in the classrooms, helping where needed (and she cooks the meals for the kids!). We toured the school after searching for infant care. I should have known from the beginning by the unreturned emails when we first inquired for information that it wasn't organized or professional. We walked into the infant room and the vibes were off. The caretakers seemed uninterested and bored, even this kids didn't look like they were having fun. Something about it was dreary. It didn't seem like anyone enjoyed what they were doing. I don't now about you but it's important that the people watching my kids want to be around children. Unfortunately, we paid the $150 deposit and filled out an application to secure a spot. They never reached out with next steps, as if we never came. I still haven't heard back so I guess we took a $150 tour. So strange but I'm thankful because it confirmed my gut feeling that this wasn't the right place. read more

Well this is the second time I have had to write this since apparently Nobis was able to delete my first post. (Not a good sign when the business is deleting posts so you can't trust the reviews) Anyways, I don't write many reviews but I chose to do so in this case cause I truly feel I am doing a service to other parents looking for day care. This review is for the infant and toddler rooms. In the infant room my son was usually the last child to be picked up due to my work schedule but I was never late. I had a habit of getting to the class and watching my son through the window and one day he was the last and Ms Judy was in the room with him her back turned to him and cleaning up around the room when she literally said when will you mom get here to pick you up. I was in shock! My some was about a year old at this point and I couldn't believe she would speak like this around him. I would have hoped that if he wa the I Ly child they would have been doing some engaging activity together. The worst however was when I picked up my son and he was covered and I mean covered in chemicals! I noticed it as soon as I got close to him. I asked about it and was repeatedly told they do t use chemicals in class (Ms Judy). However the next day Ashley the admin/director explained that chemicals were used to clean up after lunch. To be honest we use chemicals at home not a huge deal for me, if they had changed his clothes and given me a bag of dirty clothes I would have been fine. What broke my heart was that apparently no one had been close enough to my 1.5 year old since lunch time to notice he drakes of chemicals. I was sick over the thought of this but he was about to change classes to the toddler room so I waited it out. In the toddler room one of the teachers literally had asked me to complain to management two that she could turn on the heat in the classroom during the winter! That was the last straw for me as soon as my son turned two we moved to a different school and we couldn't be happier the new school is wonderful! read more
