Overall this is a very good place. The menu is extensive in terms of acai based bowls and toppings. Chose from traditional açaí or mango or green base or coconut base and a few more options as well. Order a suggested bowl from the chalkboard menu or create your own. For non acai fans, the steel cut oatmeal is really good too. My kid loved her tropical bowl with mango base substitute . I had oatmeal with cinnamon, honey and bananas and my husband went for the pura vida traditional acai bowl topped with granola, blueberries, strawberries, honey and coconut flakes. We all loved ours. The portions are generous and the prices are to be expected for what you get ( think 12-15 per bowl depending on topping add one etc). One complaint : the service is slow . It took us over 20 minutes to get our order probably because only 2 young staff were behind the counter were working and one had to be the cashier. Normally this place is really good! However this morning was an exception. I walked in an empty, I'm talking completely empty, OPEN store, for 10 minutes, no exaggeration, complete ghost town staff wise, I call out "Hello??" Twice to not be rude, but still no one. Maybe 3 minutes later a girl comes out and she's like "Did he take your order?" Im like who's HE you're the first person I've talked to in 10 minutes! Then a kid CRAWLS out from the back, where it looks like he was sitting on some shelves. Unreal. Then the rewards system doesn't work. It's not about being understaffed, it's about the lack of attention and laziness. This was unreal. I won't be back to this location ever again. A brand new location! I had the pleasure of being invited to the soft launch before opening..I absolutely loved the decor. Very nice! Loved the 2 mermaid tail tables! Tried playa today for the first time. Got the Nica Bowl, aloha smoothie and strawberry banana smoothie. About $30 so I think on the pricey side. It was nothing special. Lacking something - flavor. The toppings on the bowl were fresh and everything looks great but something is missing. For reference - we usually get the yogurt bowls from Jamba Juice and those are much more flavorful. Everything here was so bland. Maybe it's super healthy and so that means lacking flavor. I don't know. Calories weren't listed on their site. I definitely wouldn't rush back. WORST SERVICE EVER! I got ignored the entire time I was there I waited around ten minutes while the employees made bowls, but I did not get a hi or a good evening or even a "we are busy right now so it might take a while for us to get to you" instead we got IGNORED UNTIL WE LEFT. Instead of taking our order and going back to finish the bowls (there was only one family of three waiting for their bowls) they allowed their customers to stay there dumbfounded, and while we were leaving they didn't even try to apologize or try to stop us instead they went ahead acting like they didn't notice us there. Typically, the food here is amazing. I know that whenever I come here, I can enjoy a fresh açai bowl with fruits that taste and look fresh as well. While the price may be slightly high, the results that you get do indeed make it worth it. Adding to that, the service there is pretty good. I don't know about any other places, but here, they get the food done rather quickly, which is always appreciated. Next, I need to talk about the ambiance of this place. Now when I tell you this place is nice, it is nice. It truly gives off an aesthetic beachy vibe, from the lights to the painted walls to the comfy seats. My only problem today was that the person who took my order was a little bit confused in some way. What I mean by this is that she kept deleting fruits that I wanted off of the receipt and then adding them back on. Then, for some reason, she added honey to the receipt, even though I had not mentioned honey once. At first, I was slightly worried that she was going to completely mess up my order, but I didn't want to be rude and question her, as I assumed she knew what she was doing. But, after I repeated 3-4 times that I did not want granola, and she confirmed, she proceeded to add granola to my bowl. Since I did not realize it until I got into the car, I figured it would be fine, and maybe I would like it. Even though I paid lots of money for this small bowl, (Which typically would not be a problem.) Now, other people may like their granola, but I did not like it at all, and it did ruin the bowl for me. But I still ate it, as I was very hungry and had to drive a long time to get there. So, overall, I would say to always check that the staff is doing what you asked them to do because most of the time it is teenagers who don't quite know what they're doing yet. But don't let my one bad experience stop you from purchasing from them, because they do have some delicious treats you must try! read more
