Most amazing beach in the whole world. Every day is different from the tides flooding the palapas to super low to differ fish to clear water to sunsets it's just too amazing to put into words. Just 20 min away from la Paz and 2 1/2 hrs from Cabo. The snorkeling is terrific.

Awesome day at the beach ..

One if the most beautiful beaches I've been to in all of Baja. You can walk in for miles and the water is still chest deep at most. Very calm waters. Very amazing waters!! Turquoise blue, clear water.. little fish swimming past you. I loved this beach. Plan on a day trip, bring a lunch. They have your typical beach people selling cut fruit (yum)., beer, they also rent chairs and umbrellas. What a gorgeous beach to enjoy.

It was really nice and gorgeous views. No charge fee to go inside. Watch out for the scams trying to charge you.

Beautiful view, went in the morning. Not sure you need the $23 umbrella rental, at least in May, maybe in heat of summer.

I came to relax, not be personally attacked by the Caribbean-level beauty of the Sea of Cortez.

Just returned home from a fantastic stay at Palapas Ventana with our family. The property is…read morelovely, rustic but beautifully maintained. Our casita was perfect for our family of 4. Loved the big porch with the rocking chairs and hammock. The housekeepers did a wonderful job of tidying up each morning. Our bed was so comfortable, too. Our room had everything we could need: filtered drinking water, shampoo and body wash, reading lights at every bed, and beach towels. We shared in some unforgettable experiences: snorkeling with puffer fish, boating alongside gray whales, and digging for shark teeth. The staff were always friendly and accommodating. The food was unbeatable. Fresh yellow tail, fluffy pancakes, and fajitas. I highly recommend Palapas Ventana for anyone who likes adventure and is looking to experience the local culture. Well done!!

The good: We were looking for a no wind day activity at the last minute. I called around 3pm for…read morea next day booking for Scuba Diving. The office person said she would call me back to check to see if they could accommodate. Within the hour she called back and advised us there was room, we just needed to come by the office and take care of payment. We were stoked and happy to come down and pay. While I was there I asked her how many dives, she said she didn't know, but that was okay, I was just assuming it was the standard 2 dives. She advised us that it included lunch and I told her not to worry about me because I am dairy and gluten-free, she said she would let the kitchen know and that they could probably accommodate. I wasn't really concerned about lunch because I usually carry my own food. The next day we met with our guide and boat captain, both were super nice. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. We headed around the lighthouse, but visibility was poor so they took us across to the island where we dived with the sea lions and then we moved to the kiters beach on the island where we dived in shallow water. For the most part, we didn't really need to scuba, snorkeling would have been just as good. There wasn't really any benefit as far as seeing sea life. After both dives they gave us lunch on the way back, much to my surprise, they actually provided me a lunch that was both dairy and gluten-free, I was pretty impressed. The not so good: The wetsuits had holes and smelled really bad. I am not sure they had been cleaned. The air in the tanks smelled and tasted horrible. I don't know if it was mold or rust, but it was really bad. The worst part of the trip is that the guide allowed two people on our trip to freely smoke cigarettes non-stop on the boat ride and they were sitting upwind of everyone, ugh!!!! Tip: If you decide to dive with this company, please tip your guide, they are not paid in wages and only live off of the tips!!!

The property is pretty amazing. Beautiful facilities next to the marina. Nice pool, golf course…read moreand beach club. Rooms are nice. The big problem is the a-hole guests. Rich entitled spoiled rich kids partying. All I heard from my room was yelling, running down the halls, up and down the stairs, knocking on doors and no respect for other guests. Last night, the party group was smoking pot in the hallway. Also next to our room, was a couple with a crying baby. The staff does nothing to discourage that kind of behavior. Maybe it was just bad timing. I don't take many vacations and it would have been nice to have some actual peace and quiet. WiFi and internet connection spotty at best. The shower in the room was very strange as well. Very large glass enclosed shower almost in the middle of the room. Glass all around with about a 3 foot frosted band wrapping around the middle of it. Of course, I was rooming with another male on a fishing trip and we immediately looked at each other and were thinking the same thing, WTF? It was weird to say the least. The last thing I want to see is my fat naked friend taking a shower will I'm laying on the bed watching TV. The shower also smelled musty. Mexico, not my preferred vacation spot.

Then I was wowed by the beautiful open lobby overlooking the pool and the ocean. We hadn't checked in yet and I felt pampered already! Make sure to request an ocean view room. It was so nice waking up to that view. The balcony has a jade plant on it which added a homey touch to it. Because this resort is situated on a hill, they offer golf cart rides in an out of the resort, mainly to the marina. We had to go to the store a couple of times and one of the staff took us there and back. They had a shuttle service into the city as well, but we didn't go to the city. If you are obsessed with infinity pools like me, go to their Beach Club and there you will find the most stunning pool!! Actually, everything about the Beach Club was stunning! From the all-white entrance, the bar, the lounges, the ladies room-- yes, the restroom, everything about that place was beautiful! I would seriously come back to this place JUST for the Beach Club! Ask about it at the front desk because you'll need a ride there. The Beach Club kitchen closes at 5 and they make great cocktails and salads. On the way to the Beach Club there is a small opening to go to the beach, so if you prefer to swim at a quieter beach, go through there. Overall amazing stay and I recommend Costabaja Resort to anyone visiting La Paz!
