My son was given the best possible education and preparation for kindergarten at Play Academy. From the moment we set foot in Play Academy for that initial visit to see if the school would be a good fit, she went out of her way to put us at ease and make me feel like my baby would be top priority [and he genuinely was]. My son started at Play Academy when he was just over two and a half years old, and continued learning & growing there right up until his first day of Kindergarten. I am not sure if he will ever have another teacher as kind, compassionate, patient, devoted and loving as Claudia (although I pray that he does). Claudia truly cares about each and every student that enrolls in her program, and has this unabounding love for all children that obviously flows well beyond the classroom. I am a single working mom and Claudia was truly an angel sent from God at a time when I needed her most. She has practically been like a second mother to my little guy, caring for him and keeping him safe when I had to go to work and leave him, and I am forever grateful for all that she has taught him. From the beginning Teacher Claudia proactively engaged both my husband and me in Madison's educational progress. She probed us for information that would prove useful in the classroom. 'Tell me something about your child that as his/her teacher you want me to know' was her first question as she asked on her 2-page new student/parent questionnaire. I remember giving an honest answer yet believing at the time that these comments would not be read. 'Madison wants to be acknowledged when she walks into a room. She doesn't like to go unnoticed and will retreat if she feels that no one cares that she's present' was the response I offered. To my surprise, upon arriving with Madison at school the next morning Teacher Claudia greeted her quickly, offering a warm smile and kind eyes. Madison lit up and I could tell immediately that she felt important. The connection between Teacher Claudia and Madison was immediate. Throughout the year Teacher Claudia faithfully worked the curriculum while at the same time paying special attention to the social and emotional development of the students as well. She worked hard to meet the children on their level, understanding that developmentally they were all different. She celebrated Madison's strengths and encouraged her to challenge and develop her weaknesses. Teacher Claudia engaged the students everyday she was in the classroom. Claudia clearly recognized and took advantage of the invaluable time that she had with the children, helping them navigate their way through such pivotal time in their developmental lives. I couldn't say enough good things about Play Academy!! Our daughter Eileen has been enrolled since July 2021 and we have seen her grown and learn so much over the past year. Teacher Claudia has many years of teaching experiences in early education, and she has taught my child so much over the year. Claudia is focused at academic success for the students and prepared my kid well for her kindergarten. I love newsletter she prepares each week for all the learning topics and things we can help to teach our kid at home. We speak a second language at home, Claudia teaches her to speak and write in English and she becomes very fluent in English. My daughter loves this school which is blended academic and play-based program. She has learned both academic knowledge and social/emotional skills since her first day. After several month classes, she is more confident and creative. She loves to paint and sing. During recent application process, she has received 2 offers from local private schools.
