They treat black customers different, they seriously low balled them, lie about pricing, rude towards them, and overall unfriendly. The store has a dirty smell, like unwashed clothes, its so dusty it appears the store never gets clean. We shop Plato's closet, but this one, I do not recommend. If your race is brown or black shop at your own risk, do not expect to be treated fairly. read more

I went yesterday although I had a bad experience here in the past. Well they've seemed to change it around. I was able to get some really cute stuff for an upcoming trip mostly everything still had tags on it. I paid only 40 bucks. But what really changed my mind around was Evelyn and Galvin' customer service. I bought something's and we qualify for military discount. Well Galvin forgot to add the discount. No problem, we all make mistakes. When I went back in he apologized but didn't know how to correct it other than to refund it all back and re ring it all up. I didn't want to do all that for less than 5 dollars so I just wanted a store credit. Evelyn was knowledgeable, helpful and resourceful. She knew what to do and I just ended up paying the difference and getting another cute t-shirt. I vote Evelyn for management. She and Galvin are awesome. read more

i've been coming here for years and i've found some pretty good stuff, mostly fast fashion brands tbh. very good prices tho. HOWEVER- they are sooo picky. probably taken three items i've given them out of dozens over the years. and i find considerably worse and outdated in the store when they are "overstocked". also one time i tried to sell back to them vans i bought AT THAT LOCATION a while ago and they said they don't take kids' shoes... ok well^ and maybe they were just small??? read more

I travel all over the world and go to thrift stores. Platos is a chain that I visit frequently. This is the most unique and one of the best Platos I have ever been to. AND THE BEST PART... This store is set up like a boutique. This store has both brand new boutique clothes and used clothes. I wish every Platos looked like this as its modern and fun! They are picky about what they buy but they have a better name brands than 90% of the Platos I have been to. They have less cheap Shein and more Free People, Abercrombie, Lululemon, Adidas, LV, Coach, Cowboy Boots, Levis, etc. This should be the Flagship store for all Platos to model after! read more

Used clothes if you time it right they have nice name brand clothes at fair prices. The place will even take your clothes you want to sell as long as they are in season and in good shape. read more

Theres a young lady working the front counter today November 2 at 2:36 PM she has two braids a black T-shirt And a disgustingly nasty attitude. I came in to do cash for clothes and didn't realize Wednesdays this location does not buy clothes. i was making a video for content and as she sees me reading the sign she very rudely spoke to me Telling me you can't sell your clothes here today anyway and we don't except trash bags anymore. It wasn't what she said it was the nasty demeanor and her rude tone. I decided to buy two purses and was asking the others representative questions About the changes and she starts to answer for her because the lady i asked was new ...again with a nasty attitude as if my questions were bothering her. She then got really nasty with me told me the managers name was chris "i think" and that he would be here at 10 am the next day and i could come speak to him if i had a problem. ive been in customer service over 10 years and would never speak to a customer the way she spoke to me. I will be back but only to let Chris or the owner know how their establishment is being run. the marietta location has better pieces and much better customer service dont waste your time . read more

I been coming to this location for years even before it moved from around the corner and I just had one of the worst experiences, I normally don't complain even though I have noticed the ladies that work they now are no where near s nice and inviting as ones in the past. I took 2 pair of shoes Jordan Concord 11s slightly worn and a new pair of Yeezy 350 brand new, I just needed some quick cash to get my car fixed, and I have been buying and selling for years here, how surprised I was when they didn't take them, I have never been so embarrassed and humiliated in my life, I don't know if they assumed they where stolen or fake, I really felt like I was profiled read more

Really bad place to sell your clothes, I have so many dress that I buy for my graduation because I couldn't diced what I want to wear for the graduation and I couldn't take back to the original place because they only gave me one week to return it and I didn't have time to do it, but all my dresses have the original price and the name from the place. I thought they were going to buy it but the lady said that all this dresses where "out of season" that why she couldn't take anything And I wonder how all my dresses are out of season if a buy them a month ago. Also when she gave me my clothes back she just gave me one bag and I thought that was all my clothes and when I went to my car I decide to check all the clothes just in case then I notice that I was missing one dress that has a price of $40.00 dollars so I went back to ask for it and she just look at me, then I saw it, she had my dress and more of my clothes back there and I told her that my clothes and she said " oh" so she didn't have other option and she gave me back my stuff when I look at the bag what was on it it has more of the nice dress that I have And she pretend that they were not taking anything She didn't pay me anything and she was about to take my clothes !!! read more

Great store- even better customer service. I've found many pieces here through the years and have always felt so welcomed!

I visited this store because I wanted to try and sell a few items. Unfortunately they didn't take any of them. But I also stayed to look around the store just to check out the prices, and to see what they had. Some of their used clothing can be a bit pricey as if they were brand new. There's plenty of parking and overall the two ladies that assisted me were quite friendly. read more

Avoid at literally all costs. Rudest, snarkiest employees. Extremely poor communication. Hate!

I'm giving this place 2 stars because of what they said about the clothes I tried to sell there, which I will talk about later. First off, the store was nice, well lit, organized, and clean. The clothes there were the same as any other Plato's Closet and where mostly priced well. The workers there greeted me and sightly told me what to do for selling my clothes. (thankfully I have done this before at another Plato's) BUTTT here is the kicker, I drove 1.5 hours to get there from Rome, GA. Which was way out of my way. And I did tell them this. All of my clothes are name brand, rue21, hollister, etc. And they where all nicely folded and clean in a tote bin of mine. And once they "looked" through them, the black lady working there said she couldn't take ANY. Why did she say this.....? She explained that they had too much pet hair on them!!!! BUT WAIT?!?! I've never owned a dog or cat in my life nor is there pets in or around my apartment....... and the clothes have 0 hair on them. WHAT THE HECK?!?!?! I saw that she flipped over about 3 shirts then closed the bin. Which means she didn't even bother to look at them and made some random excuse to not even bother with me..... I had driven all the way there for nothing... I did buy a pair of bran-new vans sneakers for my boyfriend though.... and a few shirts for myself which where all nice..... I'd suggest just selling your clothes on ebay. (insert badword here) this store......... read more

Plato's Closet - These are the clothes I tried to sell, see any PET HAIR??? No I think not. So if you have any clothes like these, don't even try. - Used, Vintage & Consignment Near Me - Kennesaw, Georgia

I readily admit that I'm not a seasoned "thrifter". I've recently discovered the joy of it though, and I know what I like, and that exhilarating feeling I feel when I find a "find". Before I slay this location, let me give you the HUGE positive, which is WHY it gets 3 stars: it usually has a decent selection of XL and XXL men's shirts, as well as nice size 38 and 40 pants. They also will GLADLY BUY these sizes of nice men's items. I have gotten (and sold) some incredible items in THIS store. Also, the men's shoe selection is usually on point. Now. SOME of the employees in this store just ain't it. They lowball you on items you bring in to sell, and they don't seem to be too up on the more exclusive designer brands (brought in a pair of new men's Alexander McQueen slacks one day, they wouldn't take them; went back the very next day with more stuff and the same pants, and a different lady took them). Also, the entire store stinks and smells of mildew, old stale clothes, and feet. Imagine that. Hey, it IS what it is. They sell what people bring in. read more

Be prepared to be overwhelmed, wishing you had more time, wishing you had more money, and completely satisfied! The store is so much fun!

I had never been here before even back when I lived in GA and had no idea what to expect, but I got tons of steals here!! I got brandy melville for more than half the price off what it was originally sold for!! Also I got this Ralph Lauren sweater that's normally listen around €100 and I got it for $16.99!!! read more

Great place! The places are reasonable. Great styles to meet my needs along with my teens.

Awful. They don't buy anything. They claim they are overstocked. Rude personnel. Stay away. Too bad we can't give ZERO stars

This is should be amazing, clean, organized and a lot more but lord it's just not. This place is nasty, filthy, unorganized and a straight mess, sad to say but the ghetto one in Jonesboro is better than this one. I was only able to get pictures of the disgusting dressing rooms. read more

I buy and sell at this place a few times already and have found the experience overall in one word: fair. I mean come on, if you're not wearing your own clothes anymore, why would someone else? I'm just happy they accept 1 or 2 pieces of my crap sometimes. I get a chuckle when they accept my crap and politely say "Yes, I accept that offer." Then leave with the remaining 90% of crap they don't accept to head for donations. I don't mind the wait either while they go through my items. I like to shop to pass the time. They have some nice gems if you really look. It also gives me a chance to see what styles they are buying. read more

Rip off. Worn, used, somewhat dirty, clothes at brand new clothes prices. Would cost you the same to go to other retailers and buy it new. I recommend cilie's over off Dallas Hwy. Much more reasonably priced and better cared for used clothes. Won't be returning to Plato's. read more

This location is the worse so if you are thinking about going there and selling your clothes you are better off going to Ecology Resale Vintage. When we went to Plato's the first time they told us that they were not taking clothes in plastic bags that everything needed to be folded (which was folded in the plastic bag) either on baskets or boxes We went back the second time we had the clothes in boxes we left those boxes for them to look at the clothes after a few hours we called them because we haven't hear from them they told us that they were ready for us first thing we saw when we got to the store was people bringing clothes in plastic bags so I asked one of the girls about the "no plastic bag" comment and sue said that they didn't say that ....uhmm really??? After that i asked for my boxes and what they were taken if any and she said that they weren't take anything because the clothes that we brought is not in fashion anymore.....uhmmm since when jeans and t-shirts are out of fashion ??? Which is funny because i was looking around while I was waiting my turn and i found the same brand of jeans that I brought and similar graphic t-shirts Again consider go to other places to sell your clothes or donate there are a few places that actually do appreciate your clothes!!! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Rude. No customer service. Walk in, no one greets you. The girl that was going through my clothes was very short and dry with customers. Clearly had an attitude problem. I called up here before coming to the store, brought exactly what they said they were accepting and they still only offered my $9 for an entire box of clothes. Most still with the tags on and were freshly clean. Not to mention, I stood at the counter for 10 mins and a girl made eye contact with me and continued to let me stand there for another 5 mins without any acknowledgement. I'm turning to leave and no one says thank you, have a nice day, nothing. Just rude. I will NEVER be back. read more

This place is disgusting. They have obviously never cleaned anything. There is dust and gunk all over the floors and walls. The fitting rooms have gum, eyelashes, and hair stuck to the walls and mirrors. Not worth the low priced clothing. I feel like I need to go home and take a shower after being in this store. Nasty. read more

My daughter and I to stopped by to drop off name brand items, however the associate went through our clothes with hardly reviewing them. So when it was time to check out one we had to wait a few minutes until one of the employees finished up her snack. Then they basically humiliated us stating the manager has to prove wether the items were authentic. We had coach, Bebe, Aeropostale, just to name a few. She also said they didn't accept children's clothing...umm I explained there were no children's clothing. I will never visit this place again. Horrible customer service. I will donate the rest of my clothing from now on. I come off better getting a tax break. read more

I agree with all the comments on here, you can find some gems in the dirt, but you won't get much for your money and the staff are less than helpful. Also tip to note they have a 2 bag maximum per person on weekends, and a weekend for them is Fri-Sun. So if you're planning to clean out your closet better come in on a weekday and get $30 for your nicest bag of clothes. read more

I recently just went in for the first time and the first girl who helped me was very nice. As I went back in to see how much I was offered a younger asian girl was very rude and snappy. id give negative stars if i could. I won't be returning back to this location anytime soon. My experiences in kennesaw alone have just always been piss poor which is why i'm moving, hint why i'm trying to get rid of clothes. The clothes i brought were mostly things i just bought that either don't fit or i just don't wear. Majority of my stuff was shein, fabletics, lululemon leggings, fashionova stuff and more ! These are brands and items that i just knew they would take. Keep in mind everything i brought was washed prior and it great condition otherwise i wouldn't have bothered to bring it. They took NOTHING and said because of wear and tear i wanted to ask what wear and tear but i just laughed it off and said okay. but the lady who came in around the same time as me with a few t shirts they took there stuff. interesting is all i will say. i won't be returning, the other reviews are accurate. waste of time and just disappointing. read more

I brought in a bag of 10 dresses. Was told to leave them for about 30 minutes. Came back and was told that they are overstocked on dresses and to come back in a few weeks. I'm surprised they haven't gone out of business yet.. my gosh. I don't even know where to begin.. First of all it smells like death in here, yes I know that it's because the clothes are used and what not but come on, can they not wash them before putting them on the racks..? Once I picked up a jacket that had DEODORANT on it, how disgusting is that?! Not to mention that I've taken some clothes here a few times, they were new, some of them even had tags, in great condition, great brands, and they had the audacity to tell me that they were "out of fashion", and the ones that they did want to buy were worth less than 3 dollars, are you kidding me..? As I was going through the racks I was overwhelmed by their selection, the clothes were so old, in horrible shape, some of them even had wholes, I'm not gonna sugar coat it, their clothes are just UGLY. And let's not even talk about the prices! What in the world?!! They want to charge $6 for one of those H&M basics that you can get at 2 for $10 AT THE MALL BRAND NEW! The amount they charge for used clothes is simply ridiculous... read more

A few things to keep in mind: Plato's is extremely picky. They only buy items that are gently used, current style, and items from the last year or so. I used to work for Plato's (in Tennessee) and we kept a book of new and old labels so we knew what to take and what to pass on. Also, if we had high inventory we would be even more selective or not take certain items altogether. They price everything 60-70% off the retail price and offer you 30% of the discounted price. So you are only getting a few bucks for something that you may have paid $30 for. That being said, I am very disappointed with this location. The employees here are not friendly, and they don't even explain the buying process. I recently brought in clothes, and the girl that helped me didn't even ask if I knew how it worked. No wonder people are so upset that you didn't take their clothes. You're not doing your job and educating them on the process! I couldn't believe that. Also, the clothing here is just ok. I have seen lots of fading and pilling on items. I saw a polo shirt so shrunken it looked like a crop top. If you can, avoid this place. The employees aren't interested in helping you anyways! read more

The staff here is extremely rude, young and unorofessional. I walk in here at 7:45 PM and she told me, "you just made it, we're closing in a few minutes." What the hell? I tell her the website says 9. She says, "yea well that's wrong." Then turns away and talk to someone else. I gave 5 pairs of jeans. 3 solid color jeans, 1 printed Jean and 1 distressed pair. They only took the distressed pair and gave me $4.50 for it. Really?! No time to deal with the people. They give the worst fees for good, unworn clothing and have bad attitudes. Not going here again. read more

Unfortunately, I think this place has gotten a really bad rep from unfair reviews. Kind of disappointed to see so many negative ones. I took a shopping day at the nearby mall that ended up being a bust. But when I stopped in for lunch at the sushi place next to Plato's I decided to give this place a quick peak to see what it was about. I thought it was a total little hidden Jem. I found more stuff in here than I did at the actual mall!! There was also no odd smells and I saw zero stains on clothing despite the many reviews about it. In fact, I walked out of there with two maxi dresses (never even worn), two shirts and a pair of pants for $43!! If you bring clothes in to trade or sell, don't get upset if they don't take them even if they are name brand. You can clearly see these poor people working here are overwhelmed by the already stacks of clothes and they do look a little stressed out. Only reason why I'm knocking off a star is because the floors and dressing rooms could be a little cleaner. I think people should give this place a chance, it was worth it for me! read more

This store wasted my time and I will not be going back. I was interested in selling some of my clothes - they told me it would be a 3 and 1/2 hour wait until they could look at my clothes. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN? So I came back a few hours later and when they finally DID check out my clothes, they told me they weren't buying anything of mine. GOODBYE! read more

Awful place with awful employees Armpit stains on almost everything and you won't even take a pair of abercrombie jeans with tags still attached. Then I sell them something for three dollars and i come back and they have on shelf for 45. Surprised place hasn't gone out of business read more

Shut this place down. The staff like every other review says, is HORRENDOUS. They told me I had 30 min wait as they looked through my clothes I came back over 30 min later and they told me another 30 min. I came back and they offered me $1.00 for a brand new cardigan never worn before ( out of the 40 items I brought in ). Of course I said no thanks. They didn't used to be this bad but I think over the years they have gotten worst, I will definitely be trying Buffalo Exchange instead next time and avoiding this location for eternity . read more

Today was my first time at this store and my last. I walked in and the staff person greeted me and then followed up with "I don't even know why I work here, I hate this place." She didn't even make eye contact with me as she rudely told me to stand at the counter.... I tried to trade in a size 5 Juniors and was turned away.... I bought almost an entirely new wardrobe at the beginning of April only to find out in June that I was pregnant. Our theory was to trade in my clothes for bigger ones and then trade the bigger ones in once the baby was born. I shop at love culture, forever 21, etc and I was told after 10 minutes that my clothes weren't what the store was looking for. When I asked why the saleswoman told me that the clothes I had weren't fashionable. When I asked about why my $175 heels were turned down she informed me that they would be a hard sell since I wear a 6.5 and most women wear a 7. I am a 24 year old Caucasian female so it's not like I dress like an old lady. I was sadly disappointed with this store and have no plans to return in the future. read more

As someone who is very familiar with Plato's closet's selling policies and such this place really disappointed me compared to other Plato's closets. Extremely dissatisfied and would not sell here again read more
