I went yesterday although I had a bad experience here in the past. Well they've seemed to change it around. I was able to get some really cute stuff for an upcoming trip mostly everything still had tags on it. I paid only 40 bucks. But what really changed my mind around was Evelyn and Galvin' customer service. I bought something's and we qualify for military discount. Well Galvin forgot to add the discount. No problem, we all make mistakes. When I went back in he apologized but didn't know how to correct it other than to refund it all back and re ring it all up. I didn't want to do all that for less than 5 dollars so I just wanted a store credit. Evelyn was knowledgeable, helpful and resourceful. She knew what to do and I just ended up paying the difference and getting another cute t-shirt. I vote Evelyn for management. She and Galvin are awesome. read more

I travel all over the world and go to thrift stores. Platos is a chain that I visit frequently. This is the most unique and one of the best Platos I have ever been to. AND THE BEST PART... This store is set up like a boutique. This store has both brand new boutique clothes and used clothes. I wish every Platos looked like this as its modern and fun! They are picky about what they buy but they have a better name brands than 90% of the Platos I have been to. They have less cheap Shein and more Free People, Abercrombie, Lululemon, Adidas, LV, Coach, Cowboy Boots, Levis, etc. This should be the Flagship store for all Platos to model after! read more

Theres a young lady working the front counter today November 2 at 2:36 PM she has two braids a black T-shirt And a disgustingly nasty attitude. I came in to do cash for clothes and didn't realize Wednesdays this location does not buy clothes. i was making a video for content and as she sees me reading the sign she very rudely spoke to me Telling me you can't sell your clothes here today anyway and we don't except trash bags anymore. It wasn't what she said it was the nasty demeanor and her rude tone. I decided to buy two purses and was asking the others representative questions About the changes and she starts to answer for her because the lady i asked was new ...again with a nasty attitude as if my questions were bothering her. Really bad place to sell your clothes, I have so many dress that I buy for my graduation because I couldn't diced what I want to wear for the graduation and I couldn't take back to the original place because they only gave me one week to return it and I didn't have time to do it, but all my dresses have the original price and the name from the place. I'm giving this place 2 stars because of what they said about the clothes I tried to sell there, which I will talk about later. First off, the store was nice, well lit, organized, and clean. The clothes there were the same as any other Plato's Closet and where mostly priced well. The workers there greeted me and sightly told me what to do for selling my clothes. (thankfully I have done this before at another Plato's) BUTTT here is the kicker, I drove 1.5 hours to get there from Rome, GA. Which was way out of my way. And I did tell them this. All of my clothes are name brand, rue21, hollister, etc. And they where all nicely folded and clean in a tote bin of mine. And once they "looked" through them, the black lady working there said she couldn't take ANY. Why did she say this.....? She explained that they had too much pet hair on them!!!! BUT WAIT?!?! I've never owned a dog or cat in my life nor is there pets in or around my apartment....... and the clothes have 0 hair on them. WHAT THE HECK?!?!?! I saw that she flipped over about 3 shirts then closed the bin. Which means she didn't even bother to look at them and made some random excuse to not even bother with me..... I had driven all the way there for nothing... I did buy a pair of bran-new vans sneakers for my boyfriend though.... and a few shirts for myself which where all nice..... I readily admit that I'm not a seasoned "thrifter". I've recently discovered the joy of it though, and I know what I like, and that exhilarating feeling I feel when I find a "find". Before I slay this location, let me give you the HUGE positive, which is WHY it gets 3 stars: it usually has a decent selection of XL and XXL men's shirts, as well as nice size 38 and 40 pants. They also will GLADLY BUY these sizes of nice men's items. I have gotten (and sold) some incredible items in THIS store. Also, the men's shoe selection is usually on point. Now. SOME of the employees in this store just ain't it. They lowball you on items you bring in to sell, and they don't seem to be too up on the more exclusive designer brands (brought in a pair of new men's Alexander McQueen slacks one day, they wouldn't take them; went back the very next day with more stuff and the same pants, and a different lady took them). I buy and sell at this place a few times already and have found the experience overall in one word: fair. I mean come on, if you're not wearing your own clothes anymore, why would someone else? I'm just happy they accept 1 or 2 pieces of my crap sometimes. I get a chuckle when they accept my crap and politely say "Yes, I accept that offer." Then leave with the remaining 90% of crap they don't accept to head for donations. I don't mind the wait either while they go through my items. I like to shop to pass the time. They have some nice gems if you really look. It also gives me a chance to see what styles they are buying. read more

This location is the worse so if you are thinking about going there and selling your clothes you are better off going to Ecology Resale Vintage. When we went to Plato's the first time they told us that they were not taking clothes in plastic bags that everything needed to be folded (which was folded in the plastic bag) either on baskets or boxes We went back the second time we had the clothes in boxes we left those boxes for them to look at the clothes after a few hours we called them because we haven't hear from them they told us that they were ready for us first thing we saw when we got to the store was people bringing clothes in plastic bags so I asked one of the girls about the "no plastic bag" comment and sue said that they didn't say that ....uhmm really??? After that i asked for my boxes and what they were taken if any and she said that they weren't take anything because the clothes that we brought is not in fashion anymore.....uhmmm since when jeans and t-shirts are out of fashion ??? Which is funny because i was looking around while I was waiting my turn and i found the same brand of jeans that I brought and similar graphic t-shirts Again consider go to other places to sell your clothes or donate there are a few places that actually do appreciate your clothes!!! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Rude. No customer service. Walk in, no one greets you. The girl that was going through my clothes was very short and dry with customers. Clearly had an attitude problem. I called up here before coming to the store, brought exactly what they said they were accepting and they still only offered my $9 for an entire box of clothes. Most still with the tags on and were freshly clean. Not to mention, I stood at the counter for 10 mins and a girl made eye contact with me and continued to let me stand there for another 5 mins without any acknowledgement. My experiences in kennesaw alone have just always been piss poor which is why i'm moving, hint why i'm trying to get rid of clothes. The clothes i brought were mostly things i just bought that either don't fit or i just don't wear. Majority of my stuff was shein, fabletics, lululemon leggings, fashionova stuff and more ! These are brands and items that i just knew they would take. Keep in mind everything i brought was washed prior and it great condition otherwise i wouldn't have bothered to bring it. My daughter and I to stopped by to drop off name brand items, however the associate went through our clothes with hardly reviewing them. So when it was time to check out one we had to wait a few minutes until one of the employees finished up her snack. Then they basically humiliated us stating the manager has to prove wether the items were authentic. We had coach, Bebe, Aeropostale, just to name a few. She also said they didn't accept children's clothing...umm I explained there were no children's clothing. I will never visit this place again. Horrible customer service. I agree with all the comments on here, you can find some gems in the dirt, but you won't get much for your money and the staff are less than helpful. Also tip to note they have a 2 bag maximum per person on weekends, and a weekend for them is Fri-Sun. Unfortunately, I think this place has gotten a really bad rep from unfair reviews. Kind of disappointed to see so many negative ones. I took a shopping day at the nearby mall that ended up being a bust. But when I stopped in for lunch at the sushi place next to Plato's I decided to give this place a quick peak to see what it was about. I thought it was a total little hidden Jem. I found more stuff in here than I did at the actual mall!! There was also no odd smells and I saw zero stains on clothing despite the many reviews about it. In fact, I walked out of there with two maxi dresses (never even worn), two shirts and a pair of pants for $43!! If you bring clothes in to trade or sell, don't get upset if they don't take them even if they are name brand. You can clearly see these poor people working here are overwhelmed by the already stacks of clothes and they do look a little stressed out. Only reason why I'm knocking off a star is because the floors and dressing rooms could be a little cleaner. I think people should give this place a chance, it was worth it for me! read more

I brought in a bag of 10 dresses. Was told to leave them for about 30 minutes. Came back and was told that they are overstocked on dresses and to come back in a few weeks. First of all it smells like death in here, yes I know that it's because the clothes are used and what not but come on, can they not wash them before putting them on the racks..? Once I picked up a jacket that had DEODORANT on it, how disgusting is that?! Not to mention that I've taken some clothes here a few times, they were new, some of them even had tags, in great condition, great brands, and they had the audacity to tell me that they were "out of fashion", and the ones that they did want to buy were worth less than 3 dollars, are you kidding me..? A few things to keep in mind: Plato's is extremely picky. They only buy items that are gently used, current style, and items from the last year or so. I used to work for Plato's (in Tennessee) and we kept a book of new and old labels so we knew what to take and what to pass on. Also, if we had high inventory we would be even more selective or not take certain items altogether. They price everything 60-70% off the retail price and offer you 30% of the discounted price. So you are only getting a few bucks for something that you may have paid $30 for. That being said, I am very disappointed with this location. The employees here are not friendly, and they don't even explain the buying process. I recently brought in clothes, and the girl that helped me didn't even ask if I knew how it worked. No wonder people are so upset that you didn't take their clothes. You're not doing your job and educating them on the process! I couldn't believe that. Also, the clothing here is just ok. I have seen lots of fading and pilling on items. I saw a polo shirt so shrunken it looked like a crop top. If you can, avoid this place. The staff here is extremely rude, young and unorofessional. I walk in here at 7:45 PM and she told me, "you just made it, we're closing in a few minutes." What the hell? I tell her the website says 9. She says, "yea well that's wrong." Then turns away and talk to someone else. I gave 5 pairs of jeans. 3 solid color jeans, 1 printed Jean and 1 distressed pair. In the past every time I've sold I get a fair cut, 7 things for about $27 and I sold them nearly 15 or 16 items and got $10 (most of this being jeans and dresses). Shut this place down. The staff like every other review says, is HORRENDOUS. They told me I had 30 min wait as they looked through my clothes I came back over 30 min later and they told me another 30 min. I came back and they offered me $1.00 for a brand new cardigan never worn before ( out of the 40 items I brought in ). Of course I said no thanks. They didn't used to be this bad but I think over the years they have gotten worst, I will definitely be trying Buffalo Exchange instead next time and avoiding this location for eternity . read more
