The service is snotty and rude. There was one employee that was actually really sweet. The rest were too busy gossiping and flailing around like teenage girls to help. Not to mention I brought 6 bags of brand new jeans and men's clothing. And they gave me nothing. Like didn't even open two bags because I'm the one that tied them nothing had been disturbed. I don't understand how they found one jumpsuit and offered me 6 bucks for it. I bought it for $30.... Just extremely disappointed and overwhelmed with the attitude the two girls had at the counter. I live in Atlanta and typically sell my clothes to the location in Roswell. I was very pleasantly surprised by this Columbus location. It was clean , organized and had several trendy items that caught my eye. When I sell my clothes to Plato's Closet already know the items they will and won't take and how much I typically get for my clothes. But let's be honest each transaction is different based upon who sorting the clothing, but I digress. *** Plato's Closet buys gently used trendy/name brand clothing for a fraction of the price and resells it to their customers. *** On this particular day I brought in a bin of spring/summer clothes and a box of shoes. Most of my clothes were from Express, shoes from Aldo and Nike, and two gently used Kate Spade bags. The ladies at the front counter were extremely helpful. It took about 30 minutes for them to sort through my clothing and price it. I was very happy with my experience at this location . I received $238 for my clothing and traded in a few of those dollars for a new outfit. read more

Whelp, I am the last person to write a review however I work in customer service and I am completely embarrassed and honestly offended. AS WOMEN we should not say "how embarrassing" about a small period stain I didn't know about on a pair of jeans I was selling. Obviously I did not know about the stain. However the girl behind the desk who responded with "gasp how embarrassing" was I think a little out it line. I mean come on? In the world we live in perhaps try to be better to other women. The store associates were very polite. The store was very clean and organized. Their prices were pretty good for certain items, especially sneakers. Let me tell you, I love the idea of Plato's Closet (because I am cheeeeaaaap) and have been to some bomb.com locations, however this does not fall into that category. The employees are always rude, no matter when you go into the store (whether it is packed on the weekends or a quiet afternoon on a weekday). They act like you are there to assassinate their best friend, and then force them to give you their life savings. I have probably have only met three polite employees in the years I have been going to this store. Usually it is always the fitting room employees who are nice, oddly. It was pretty iffy at the other location with rudeness, but it was amped all the way up when they made the move. I am a fairly 'average' to 'chubby' girl. Considering we live in the good ol' south, I am not that large- I will buy size large tops (because of my super large breast size) and wear size 11 in jeans and size medium in running shorts, etc. I hardly ever find clothing that fits there, because of such a large limitation in their stocking. They have literally racks upon racks upon racks of xsmall-medium clothing, but only EIGHT tops in large and SIX tops in xlarge. You would think it is because of a lack of people bringing in these larger sizes, but no sir. They will never purchase clothing that is above a certain size, in my experience as both a shopper and seller. I had boxes of clothes with literally new tags on them and in great condition from respectable stores, in season, the whole shebang. NOPE. They either tossed it aside or offered literally like a dollar for something worth a good $45. I don't know if it is the buyer's personal preferences that make them choose the clothing, but sometimes they buy hideous clothes and refuse to buy something fairly cute. Once, I brought in clothes of mine, along with some dated clothes that my friend had given me to sell (she wears size 0 shorts and xsmall tops- which they had plenty of). They purchased every piece of her clothing and only two things of mine. It gets me so irritated to go in there that I save my shopping for going to the Auburn store or the Birmingham location (my personal favorite). read more

The staff in this store is rude and doesn't seem to care about your experience and feels bothered when you ask them for help. I brought in over 50 pieces of clothing items and they only choose two. We got there 30 min before close- I understand that. I worked as a server so I can assure you get it. But we called, and the girl told us to go ahead and come in. They said they'd look through our bag- didn't have much stuff in it. I tried on a few pairs of jeans in FIVE minutes max. The entire time the staff talked right in front of the dressing room about how irritated they were. Like I promise you I would've felt the exact same way, but it's different when you're expressing that shit IN FRONT of your customer... staff is rude as shit, no matter how much I smiled and tried to apologize with no response back. read more

Don't even bother selling your clothes to them unless it literally still has the tag on and is Hollister or American eagle....I had a box full of clothes I've never even worn with tags ..shorts..tank tops...dresses...they didn't take any of it ..they are so picky but yet if you go through the racks you will run into some hidious clothes! read more

I really like Plato's Closet. I have gone in several times and I've always managed to find something. Sometimes it takes a little digging since their racks are so big, but they have some good brands at really great prices. In the last couple of years I've gotten into working out and I cannot afford to buy brand new clothes every time I drop a size. The last time I went in I found two great pairs of jeans and one pair of my preferred brand was less than $10! That's a steal. Carefully look at what you are buying there. Some things are not functional at all and once you bought, it is impossible to get your money back. When confronted about a broken item, the clerk just smiled and the item is back to where it was to trick another customer into paying for nothing. Very disappointed :( read more
