Is there a rating that below 1 star? I booked a blow dry here because I had another appointment in the area. I've never been here before. What ensued was appalling. Here goes: An older woman who greeted me was going to do the blow dry - perfect. As she began, her hands trembled and she didn't really know how to coordinate using the round brush and the blow dryer. I asked her if she was new - She said she's the owner. Um what?!
Then she asks these questions:
- How long does your hair stay wet for? I answered: I don't know, why do you ask ?! That's an odd question
- Should i use a round brush or hot iron? I answered - I don't know, I don't really blow dry my hair very much ( I have very long hair)
She said You don't blow dry your hair?! I said No, why is that shocking?!
She then went on the give me the opposite of the look i wanted. Flat, lifeless. I asked her if she could put product in it to help? Mousse maybe? She put almost the entire bottle on my dry hair. What happened? Yup, knots galore, and it was dry and rough and stringy. I asked her to stop several times and find someone else. She called me 'mean'. I told her I am sure she is a wonderful human being and i mean no disrespect, but her technique is off. I was calm and to-the-point. Sorry, the truth was perceived as 'mean'
She said someone is available in 1.5 hours - That didn't work for me so we decided she continue and then finally she said she would get the guy who washes hair to blow dry it. I was skeptical. 2.5 hours later I had a passable look. It's flat and lifeless but I can fix it up myself. The guy who did it was nice. No one offered a coffee or anything during the entire visit.
I asked for a discount. The co-owner walks to me - He was angry. ''you booked last minute and we are very busy and i can give you $5 off''. He walked away and wouldn't make eye contact.
It was almost funny how this all went down. Instead of saying '' we will do our very best to make you happy, don't worry''.... He opted for ego. All i hear was me, I, me , I.
I paid 44 instead of 50. I gave the hair guy $5 - he was the only nice person there.
Interesting that what things go awry, people's instinct is to run away , avoid eye contact or just stare...
My God, it's a terrible place - Just a warning. read more
