Prices are a little high at times due to the lack of competition in the area, but they pick up my dry cleaning off my porch and drop it off, so I expect a premium price for that premium service. The cleaning is acceptable, but I have experienced a pattern of being overcharged. I am often charged the $9 dry cleaning rate for shirts that are simply laundered. When I recently pointed that out they admitted that I should have been charged $5 and not $9 but they are not able to change the price because only a manager can change the price. I had to pay the incorrect price to get my shirts but they promised that a manager would call me and provide a refund. I received no call or refund. One week later the same thing happened. read more

Went on a day they were open and door was locked .. middle of the day - Sign said open but could not get in! I have never went back since ! Charged $70 to replace a zipper in my down coat and it only lasted one year . read more

Plantenga's has been my goto dry cleaner for over fifteen years. They have been really good with my desired starch level and special requests ever since I write my requests on a piece of paper and put it with my outgoing dry cleaning. Heavy starch in the wintertime leaves me in what feels like a straight jacket. They have been listening to my requests! Plantengas, actively listens and requests feedback. I was assured my garments would be ready Friday after 5pm. I returned Saturday morning only to be told my clothes would be ready on Monday. Usually, this would not have been a big deal but the garments we needed cleaned were for a wedding we were attending that Saturday evening. I'm new to the area and saw this as the only local option. I dropped off a load and the experience was nice. When I picked up, the price was shocking. I am coming from Chicago and had dry cleaning weekly. This place was 3 times the price. I have done some research. I can overnight my laundry to Chicago, have it cleaned and returned at lower cost than going here. Crazy, right. Nice people and good service, but the prices are extremely high. I just brought a very tired and dirty puffer jacket into Plantenga's to see if they could revitalize it with a good cleaning. When I received it back not only did it look fantastic but my husband asked me if I bought a new jacket as it looked just as good as the day I bought it. I have been using Plantenga's for twenty plus years and they have never disappointed me even with the toughest cleaning jobs. I highly recommend them if you don't already use them. The staff is so professional! I had forgotten my pilot wings on my shirt, and called the Grand Haven North store. Jamie was so nice, and immediately knew what I was talking about and had my wings in a little bag so I could pick them up before my next work trip, even though my shirts would not be done for another day. I had my comforter and duvet cover cleaned by Plantenga's Cleaners. I needed both items completed in a time crunch over the holiday break and they were able to fulfill my request. They found and treated spots and stains I hadn't even realized were there! When my duvet cover was returned, it looked just as good as brand new. This company has convenient locations, but the quality of service is terrible. The problem from my view is the central Spring Lake processing location is very poorly managed. I now use them as a last resort. Last three orders were messed up. Order one: shirts on hangers when request was folded. Order two: two lost shirts - I am told they didn't lose them that I am wrong. Order three: shirts not available as promised. Phone calls to management/ownership are sad. The responses consist of excuses and assertion that the problem rarely if ever occurs. Conversation with remote locations indicates otherwise. Unless you have to use them for same day service, please consider anyone else. read more

The front desk people are great! They do everything within their power to make sure your expectations are met. The cleaning service is not consistent so inspect when you pickup. Also make note of items dropped off as items tend to get lost from time to time. They usually will compensate a loss with several weeks of persistent calling and leaving messages for management. Communication systems need to be improved as communication from staff and customers to management has proven demonstratively very poor. read more
