While they may advertise a number of items on their outside menu such as machetes, aguas frescas, tacos dorados, and breakfast tacos, all are subject to limited availability. When in doubt, shoot for their standard tacos with the following meats: fajita, pollo, tripa, lengua, pastor, barbacoa, and chicharron. They range from $2.50-$3.00 each and is cash only. The food was somewhat of a letdown for a number of reasons: :: The cilantro had so many stems in it that every bite had an extra crunch to it. It almost reminded me of eating crunchy bits in a salad, which in taco terms is not preferred on this end. :: The barbacoa was tender and juicy, which in most cases is good but it soaked the tortillas so much that they fell apart too easily. This makes for a messy taco bite. :: Chicharron didn't' fare much better, except I wasn't particularly jazzed about their marinade or the fact it was very chunky without much fat. A big part of quality chicharron is texture and it just wasn't there for this one. :: Fajita is a Houston (#2) taco meat staple and it was extremely dry. A little lime and salsa can help immensely, but their jalapeño + green chile based salsa verde wasn't hittin' as much as I would have liked. The service was my biggest crux for these mixed experiences. They weren't the most friendly during any of my visits and were somewhat annoyed when I'd ask about which meats were available and why the prices aren't listed on the truck (#3) . Parking is abundant, but beware of the potholes in both cement (and food) form. ____________ (#1) https://www.yelp.com/biz/el-punto-de-oro-cabaret-latino-houston (#2) Yes, Houston. Certainly the busy hours are late night when the club is busy and letting out, and there's no way that a place that has tacos this good and is this cheap would not be getting five stars.

Their taco truck option is about $3.65 a pop, which is a bit pricey. I assumed that the quantity would be relatively huge but the portion was really your normal taco size. I ordered the Baja fish taco - asked for no mayo, no cheese, and Chicken Fajita Taco - asked for no cheese on corn. They messed up the order by giving me the chicken fajitas on the flour, and Baja fish taco with tons of cheese. You can see they cook their fajitas on the griller which was a bonus, food was not bad. Their cupped salsa has no kick to me. I wish I could like their lunch tacos but I had to say it was a disappointment.

I have a suspicion that one particular one was barbacoa, but I honestly cannot tell. What I can tell is that these are marvelous tacos. The tortillas were perfect, steamy without being wet; there was plenty of cilantro; the green sauce is nippy and tasty, and the red sauce is smoky. At a buck-sixty each, these are a helluva deal. I've been here a couple of times to verify its existence. Nothing fancy. Just a standard taco truck. The truck has windows on both sides. It's kind of confusing, though. What's interesting is that the *only* price (#2) listed on the menu is the $1 tacos, which are only applicable to fajita, pastor, and pollo (beef, pork and chicken) and are two biters, which are the mini tacos (taquitos). They are solid, comparable to other spots that offer the same thing. Their "regular" tacos are $3 each and are pseudo three biters. The premium meats include campechano, chicharrón, and barbacoa. Interestingly, the latter is $3 in taquito form, but also $3.50 as a regular taco. Fans of this meat might as well just order the regular sized taco. They also offer salchipapas, gorditas, machetes, tortas, baked potatoes. (papas locas), hamburgers, and loaded fries (papas los chavalitos). I'd caution on the hot dogs, wings and burgers, namely because they are a bit skimpy and are $10+. Considering they also offer the alternative "Tony" and"luvary" tacos, as well as the "gypsy" burritos and salchipapas, I'm doubtful that management is Mexican.
