Hello. Hello, Dr. Cabebe. This is a follow up to my messages over your "my health" application (or whatever you guys call it) sent over the past months. You have failed to do your due diligence to respond to those messages in a timely fashion. I was told that I should expect a response within three days. You, however, have not responded to them at all, ever, shirking your responsibility, ethics, and professionalism. I recapped all of the things below in a message over the my health application. You guys ignore those, too. I continue to request a referral for my apparently torn hamstring. As I said in clinic, it is painful and bothers me all the time. I cannot run, among other things, and this impacts other areas of my health, such as cardiovascular health (and haven't we already discussed my cardiovascular health in clinic? Yeah, you ignored that, too...) You or somebody associated with your clinic ordered an MRI, at your request, at a clinic in Bakersfield, a four hour drive from here. As stated numerous times in the messages and over the telephone, this is not reasonable. It should not be necessary to state that, as it is so obvious. But I have stated it and you, as usual, have ignored me. I ask again for you to please refer me to a sports medicine Doctor Who also practices regenerative medicine. Please order the bloodwork that I have mentioned in clinic and over the my chart messages over the past months. As I requested in Zio patch, over two months ago, the apparent need for that seems to have expired, apparently due to your inactivity, so we can move forward without that. After you have done the above mentioned tasks, please contact me to schedule an in clinic appointment. There are other things you are aware of that need to be seen in clinic. Those things would've been taken care of last time, if you had been on time instead of making me wait for too long. Yes, I left after waiting 40 minutes. And the previous appointment, you kept me waiting for over 90 minutes and never apologize for that. What professionalism is that? You do not need to see me in clinic to make the referral for my torn hamstring. You've already seen me and we have already discussed the torn hamstring in person. It is up to you to place the referral for a nearby Doctor for that (preferably one who also practices regenerative medicine). 1) place the referral for the hamstring 2) respond to my request for bloodwork and order tests accordingly. 3) Address the issue of blood glucose monitoring, as both of the glucose monitors we have tried failed. 4) carefully respond to all of my messages over the my health app (Or whatever you guys call it). 5) after you have done all that, please call me to schedule an appointment. I was pretty surprised by the incompetence of their phone/scheduling staff, for primary care. Three different people screwed up in a row. So I've wasted hours of my time without ever stepping foot inside. The first didn't realize a doctor no longer worked there. The second wrote down my phone number and birth date wrong. The third didn't realize my phone number was written down wrong even after I called to confirm everything. read more

I came to this clinic because of an unplanned/unwanted pregnancy, and my first impression was already off to a bad start considering I waited to be seen an hour past my appointment time. I received a medication abortion and went home, things went smoothly. I returned one week later to do an ultrasound to make sure everything went well. Once again waited an hour to be seen, once I was seen the person who had done my ultrasound said everything looked great and she didn't see anything left in my uterus. After this I had reoccurring UTI's over the past month. I eventually went into the ER this past weekend because I became faint, nauseous, and feverish. Only to find out that there was still product of the pregnancy left inside of my uterus causing me to have an infection. I'm extremely disappointed that this wasn't caught when I had went in for my follow up, it has been a very difficult, stressful, painful, and emotional process dealing with this and it could have been prevented had the doctor/nurse seen this right away. Had an appointment for a Tuesday afternoon but I came about an hour early since I know I had to sign forms and they saw me right at the time I was supposed to have my appointment! I really like what Planned Parenthood does for the community. So I voluntarily paid $80 for a 2 hour wait in an obnoxiously loud waiting room, 3 minute consultation with a kindly nurse practitioner, and 1 pack of birth control pills. After I balked at the price of birth control pills, the nurse practitioner hinted to me that Costco carries probably the cheapest birth control pills out there. We shall see. Planned Parenthood is a non-profit that doesn't take insurance - only Medi-Cal and Medicaid. My background in social welfare would not let me lie about my income so I paid full price for everything. Next time I'll stick to donating directly to Planned Parenthood instead of using its services. read more

I am beside myself with the horrible customer service . Soon as I walk in I'm being looked up and down with dirty looks by the very front desk secretary. Now if that ain't unprofessional I don't know what is! Not sure if it's because I'm white and she's Mexican but I'm totally feeling judged and racial profiled. Due to COVID-19 most of the services are by appointment only, but she was able to get me in for a full check-up. The clinical staff is very smart and educated me about healthy sexual behavior. I don't have medical :-( I just needed a standard womanly check up . . . then I remembered planned parenthood and then Yelp! came through with reviews and so based on the reviews I chose this location in Mountain View. I made an appointment online, easy. Just enter in your information, the next day I got a confirmation email and then a call the day before. 2 days later I was in the clinic. The clinic is located in a Safeway shopping center, so tons of parking and it feels safe. It's a nice area, just the few people already seated seemed nice enough waiting for their appointment, I felt comfy here. Walking in it reminds of every other hospital/ clinic. It's clean, fair sized room, magazines and Rachel Ray was playing on the TV. I simply walked up to the window and told the girl I had an appointment. She was nice and quick when entering my info and getting me settled in the waiting room. I made sure to come 15 minutes early and easily filled out the information they require. Basically on time I was then taken to take weight/blood pressure and then into the exam room. My doctor was a sweet younger woman, friendly, gentle, nice and informative. The room was just like every other exam room I've been in, clean, updated and nice. Then after a fairly short visit I was ushered into a room for the HIV test - so easy just wait 15 minutes and you know - obviously it was good news otherwise this wouldn't be a positive review. . . Everyone was really informative, kind, non judging and overall I was there about an hour or so. I left with about 35 free condoms, 2 morning after pills and a years worth of birth control. I wasn't required to pay anything based on my non medical/ poorness - so this whole visit was amazing. You can choose to give a donation if you want to but I sure will when I'm looking back at this experience and seeing how great this service is. I had a horrific experience here. If you are considering this clinic for an abortion, I advise you to read this. I went here for an at-home abortion. The doctor sent me home with ibuprofen for the pain. As soon as the contractions began, I was in severe pain. I was told that if I experience severe pain, I should go to the ER. The pain was so extreme that I went in an ambulance to the ER because we assumed there was a complication. I was given Morphine which helped right away. There were no complications - it turns out abortions are just incredibly painful. I can't believe all they gave me was Ibuprofen. This doctor also gave me Promethazine for nausea, even though she said it might cause my Ulcerative Colitis to flare up. Not only did this medicine not help with the nausea (I threw up many times), it is an antihistamine, so it made me uncomfortably drowsy while I was throwing up and in pain. Then, two days after my first ER visit, I had a fever and diarrhea. I called Planned Parenthood and they said this could be signs of infection and I should go to the ER right away. No infection was found - it was an Ulcerative Colitis flare-up. I am now dealing with enormous medical bills due to these two ER visits. My advice for you is to go elsewhere for an abortion. In any case, be sure to do your research and request a stronger pain killer and actual anti-nausea medicine that won't conflict with your existing medical conditions. I am shocked that this happened and wish I could speak with the doctor, but I haven't been able to share this feedback with anyone at Planned Parenthood. read more

This place is amazing. They go above and beyond to help men and women feel comfortable talking about and dealing with an already uncomfortable subject - reproductive and sexual health. The fact that they provide this service free of charge to those who can't afford it makes it even more amazing. I've been to this facility and never had to wait more than about 15 minutes to be seen. The doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, and aides are very friendly and willing to explain different procedures and policies. They call with reminders about appointments and are good with follow-up regarding referrals to outside offices. If you don't know where to go or who to talk to about your reproductive health, I recommend you start here. read more

Overall a very good center, and I am glad there are free clinics around. I usually come here for blood testing, and centers and clinics are good if you don't want the results or frequency of your tests to be on your permanent medical record. A very good option for people with little-no income as there are state funded programs that provide for these services. Clinicians are knowledgeable and can answer your questions. It helps to have an appointment, as the wait time can get a little out of hand at times. Just remember to be as honest with your answers regarding your health as you can be and the clinician will recommend appropriate courses of action. read more

The staff is very understanding and courteous. Planned Parenthood, I wanted to love you. Like Angie, I am totally on board with your mission and the work you do providing health education to the community. Unfortunately, your process at this office is horrendous. I just needed a simple pill refill. Obtaining one pack, required THREE trips to the clinic-- each time, I had to fill out a form and wait. Twice, I ran out of time (30 minutes) and had to get back to work. The last time, I waited 30 minutes for a "consultation" with the nurse, which entailed her handing me the pack in a brown bag. Supposedly, PP takes Blue Cross Anthem, but I've never had luck. Even for my wellness exam, they said the Blue Cross system was down, so I paid out of pocket. I filled out all the claims, and I have yet to get reimbursed for the exam and meds. For the refill, I was charged $30. When I asked about my insurance coverage, David told me they have to call Anthem each time I visit. And how long for them to verify my insurance coverage? An extra HOUR. I paid full price, and sadly, I will never go there again. Like I said, wonderful mission but my fucking god, the execution could not be any worse. I'm so disappointed. If you're a student, you will probably have better luck at your student health care center. If you work, forget about this place: seriously, this is inefficiency to the max. Next time, I'll wait a month for an appointment with a private practice physician. Then I can take the prescription to any commercial pharmacy who will refill it in 15 minutes max. read more

I'm on board with Planned Parenthood's mission and with the execution of their services, particularly at this branch. The deal with PP is that you need to make sure you schedule an appointment with them decently far in advance, and don't expect to show up with only 30 minutes to spare and be seen -- they're consistently swamped and with good reason: they're some of the best advocates we uninsured have. I also recommend showing up 30 minutes before they open, as every day is ostensibly a walk-in day (they open daily at 8:45 AM). I'm above the poverty line and I still received their lowest rates for treatment for my sinus infection, for what that might be worth. Also, they're next to a Safeway, which makes filling prescriptions rather convenient too. They're also rather conveniently located, too -- next to San Antonio Shopping Center, a conspicuous landmark, and between Central Expressway and El Camino. Regarding the competence of the employees, I have consistently been happy with the information they've provided about any concerns I've had, and always have plenty of informational literature on hand as well. Despite how strenuous it must be working for an organization that provides services to so many for so little, I don't find the bedside manner lacking either: they're patient -- no pun intended -- and friendly. Only the receptionists ever seem abrupt at all, and I assume that's because they hear people's rants about how long they've been waiting and how much they have to do today more than anyone else. If all the aforementioned isn't a good enough testimonial, I leave you with one fact: theirs are the only gynecologists I've ever encountered who think to *warm the speculum*. read more

It felt like going back in time, to a much younger stage of life, dealing with Planned after two decades of my own doctor. Like so many others since Obamacare has been implemented, we cancelled our insurance because the newly, severely increased rates are just a damned ripoff. (I do believe health insurance is important to have, in principle, but it's no longer practical.) I do still need to get my birth control pills however, so Planned is great for that. They even have a policy that if all you need is to refill your prescription, they don't require an exam! Woohoo! I got an appt. very quickly, same day in fact, and they were very nice on the phone. It was pretty crowded (women, men, and children) and it took a long time to be seen. My appt. was for 3:45 and I didn't even get back there until after 5! Finally, the girl in the window told me to go back, but this pushy woman told my partner he couldn't come with me. Fuck off, I'm the customer, and he attends ALL of my appts. Deal with it. I was ushered into a bathroom for a pregnancy test "because we haven't seen you before". Huh? So, if I were there for an annual checkup and they had seen me a year ago, they'd be sure I wasn't pregnant? Was she stupid? I told her that if I'd known I'd have to pee there, I wouldn't have peed before leaving my house. She said all they need is a little bit but it was mandatory. It felt really weird to me. I'd never had such a test in a clinical setting, let alone demanded of me. But, to shut her slit, I produced the "required" amount of pee and more (do I get extra credit for filling the cup halfway?) . To my dismay, it was back to the waiting room for what seemed like an eternity. Lots of people were coming and going, and all I needed was my prescription refilled. Eventually we got back there into a room, and no one knew squat about my pregnancy test, what the results were, and they didn't even know where it was. I was even asked to describe the lady who ordered it, like their workers were unchecked except by patient complaints. The other staff were totally bewildered that I was told to do it, considering I was just there for a simple refill. Apparently, it was NOT required, the bitch was probably power tripping by ordering women to pee just for the hell of it, because she did have my chart and it clearly stated I was only there for a refill. For all we know, the cup could have been switched with someone else's and they got a false negative result. We were left in the room by ourselves for an extension of eternity. I periodically peeped out and reminded staff that we were in there, figuring we'd been forgotten about. Nope, they hadn't forgotten us, it just took that long. Appts. there mean even less than having appts. at the DMV! Finally, a nurse practitioner came in and was very sweet and cool. I asked if the crazy long wait and disorganization had something to do with more people coming in due to no longer having insurance because of ObamaCare, and she said no, it's always like this. She apologized for the massively long wait and didn't drag out the visit. As promised, there was no exam. Her only concern with me was that I keep up with regular breast cancer screening due to my mom, aunts, and maternal grandmother all having had the disease. I reassured her that I would; in fact, we had just come from my 2x annual thermography appt. and had gotten the all-clear by phone a few minutes earlier. Getting the prescription refilled was no problem. They didn't carry my brand so she wrote it for me to have it filled elsewhere. She also provided a bag of condoms and a dose of emergency contraception, in case I ever need it. Bless her heart! I don't know her name but she was exceptional in her comfortable manner and professionalism. The clinic is very fortunate to have her! So, the wonderful NP saved the visit for us. On our way out, a grouchy girl asked if we'd like to make a donation, so we dug up a $5 and she didn't even smile or thank us! Maybe her hormones were off and her own BC prescription needed tweaking. Or, she was just a cranky bitch. We didn't get out until three hours after the scheduled appt. so it was dark but the waiting room was just as packed. My advice is don't give any credence to your appt. time. It means nothing. Bring food, a book or tablet or smartphone, and esp. another person if you can. It's dreary and depressing in that waiting room, being put off every time you ask when your time has come. Don't schedule anything for after your appt. 'cause you could be there for hours and risk being very late or just in a terribly foul mood after being stuck there so long. Think of it as the emergency department at a county hospital. Despite all the inconvenience, we are so blessed to have PP. Thank God it's there when it's needed. Yes, we'll go back, and it will hopefully be less chaotic. I am a big supporter of Planned Parenthood, though I rarely use their services. It comes down to when I'm uninsured and don't have the income to pay elsewhere for standard services you can get here. The medical staff is great, I don't need to get into a lot of detail there. I think all Planned Parenthood nurses/doctors have bigger hearts than you'll find at most other clinics/hospitals. If you qualify, you can get most of the services free or through a state program that will pay for all/most of it. The only reason I withhold one star is because this location is consistently overbooked/running behind. I think it's the busiest location in the Bay Area. I always have an appointment and still end up waiting 45-60 mins to be seen, which can suck if you have somewhere to be. read more

Planned parenthood is great because it provides me with low-cost birth control that I otherwise could not have afforded. They provide the services for a suggested donation, and I always donate whatever I can afford. But I'm completely broke right now and I literally cannot donate. When I said, "I'm sorry, I can't this time," the staff glared at me and lectured me about it. I can't believe this. Isn't part of their mission to make birth control available to everyone? How can you alienate a large part of your clientele and mission like that? Second, I walked in today for a refill (no appointment needed) when I was told that I would have to make an appointment for a yearly check -up. The soonest available appointment was in five days. Since I wouldn't have any access to birth control, I asked if I could have some free condoms, and the front desk told me that I could only have it when I come in for my appointment. Well it's pretty illogical that I have to wait until I have access to birth control in order to receive condoms! Aren't they trying to PREVENT pregnancy? The professionals here are great, but their front desk staff is just rude. This is an example of a poorly executed non-profit. They kind of left me high and dry. You think of Planned Parenthood as your safety to turn to weather you need birth control or care, and I have never had a problem with them, I have donated and been supportive. I haven't been there in a while because I had insurance, but the time came when I needed that desperate help. I am leaving the country in 3 months and I just found out I'm pregnant. I wanted to set up an appointment for an ultrasound and screening at 10 weeks in just to make sure everything is okay. They would not see me because I'm leaving! Apparently it's their policy to keep someone for their whole pregnancy - you're either with them a 100% or left out in the gutter. Perhaps they should reword the part with "access" in their mission statement. read more

I'm convinced that this is the best Planned Parenthood in my regular SF-to-Oakland-to-San Jose trajectory. I had a fantastic experience, from the online appointment request, to the intake, to the services, to the payment and insurance billing. I got great information, excellent critical thinking, and straight talk about the array of health issues my partner and I were dealing with from the clinician I saw. I felt respected and not judged, the latter of which I find rare in most health care settings. Make an APPOINTMENT, read what to bring beforehand on their website , get there early to fill out the paperwork if its your first time and really, is it to much to be nice to the people that work here? they are here to help you. My appointment was for birth control and I made it for 920 am. I got there at 850 to fill out the paperwork and was seen at 930ish.They did some normal tests beforehand like weight, blood pressure etc and urine sample. The nurse who help me was really nice and answered any questions I had. I brought my old Rx with me so it was easy for them to find a match to my dosage. They even said I should come back and have a PAP soon cus its been a while. Everyone I encountered was really friendly and I didn't feel rushed while i was there. I got a year supply of birth control so i don't have to do the monthly run to CVS, which is awesome. ALl in all ill be visiting this location again with any questions I have :) read more

Overall, I've had more good experiences than bad ones. Usually the bad ones were due to wait times- which can get out of control at any dr's office anyway. There are two lines - walk-ins and appointments. If you are an appointment, get there 15 mins early because they often schedule several people at once and the first to show up gets the first service. If you walk-in a good tip is to get there at 8:30 when they open, they usually only have appointments at that time and are able to get you in and out by 9:30. read more

I am an avid supporter of planned parenthood and their mission, and our first appointment there was quite smooth. We came in on a Friday and got another appointment for 3:30 PM on Monday. On Monday, we got here at 3:35 as I am temporarily disabled and it took a little longer than anticipated to get here. However, we were told that the appointment was for 3:20 and that they could no longer see us as we were late. First of all, the appointment was for 3:30 PM and not 3:20, and secondly they didn't even bother treating my mum. They said we could wait but they won't be able to see us...umm okay? We then got an appointment for 3:30 PM on Tuesday, and the doctor didn't even see us till 4:15 PM so we waited 45 minutes! So how is it okay that we had to wait this long and they still saw us this time around? Ridiculous. We could have easily done that on Monday. My husband had taken time off of work on Monday so he could bring my mum and I to the appointment and no one saw us...he then again had to take time off on Tuesday. Very disappointing. We were fortunate enough that we could come back the next day and that my mum was not in that much pain/discomfort. I can't believe that they would be sending people away without even looking at them. People with an appointment at that. The 5 stars are for the amazing nurses and doctors. After driving to the facility for 4 weeks in a row to find doors close every single time on Tuesdays and Thursdays I finally learned that the business owner decided to close at 5PM for the entire month of November and the first week or December "due to unusual and unforeseen circumstances". Sometimes there are protesters, but guess what??!!?!? PP has their own team of awesome elderly people who stand right outside the doors and make sure you are able to get into your appointment safely Sounds scary, but there has never been a problem. The protesters stay on the sidewalk. Just walk in and say hello and thank you to the volunteers in the blue vest who care about your rights. I came in for a PAP and some questions about preparing to become pregnant with my fiancé. i had a few SIMPLE questions about what kinds of medications i should and should not take while trying to conceive . the nurse practitioner was the most condescending, rude, unprofessinal i have ever met. Not only did she interrupt me multiple times, she also seemed to talk to me like i was the most uneducated women on the planet. Isn't Planned Parenthood supposed to help people who have questions about reproduction and things of this nature?to educate people? This women was completely useless. She obviously didn't know the answers to my questions and completely avoided answering in some weird fake-like-you-know-but-don't -want-to-sound-like-you-don't kinda way. completely bizarre experience with her obnoxious fake laugh and know it all attitude. And to top if off in the middle of my appointment she excuses herself and comes back and tells me they are going to have to cancel my family pact plan since i am planning on becoming pregnant in the next year. this is not the case. i came in for a PAP and QUESTIONS. Anyway, instead of maybe finding out answers i had to my questions from someone else in the office she would just keep interrupting me and tell me to see my general practitioner. if i had one, don't you think i would be at that Drs office instead of going to the free clinic? i mean, isn't that why i am there in the first place? i wish i would have gotten this women's name so i can talk to someone in corporate because she did not know what the hell she was talking about and was so rude and disrespectful. i mean, i actually left the exam room speechless and in shock to the lack of education, communication and blatant disrespect. So after this horrifying experience with this incompetent B**** for a lack of better words,i am checking out getting ready to leave and the male receptionist asked me to leave a donation (which i normally do and have no problem doing) i tell him i can not today due to financial problems and he LITERALLY ROLLS HIS EYES and tosses a paper at me of why donations are important. This is not the first time i have had a terrible experience with rude staff at PP and I'm sure it won't be the last. You would think working at a clinic that offers free healthcare to people who cannot afford insurance would be self gratifying but apparently all these employees hate their jobs. i left the ridiculous place with no answers, canceled FP card, and in a bad mood. thanks for nothing. read more

I have never been to a planned parenthood before so my review towards this one might be a bit biased. I went there on the recommendation of my OBGYN as I had a missed miscarriage and I had to get an abortion. The staff there were extremely helpful and very sympathetic to my situation. I was seen within 10 minutes of getting there. The appointment did not feel rushed at all. They explained my options to me very well and gave me time to decide. I was going through a very tough phase in my life and they helped me with a smile. I would highly recommend this PP! read more

i showed up here not expecting the best service, especially with the honest yelp reviews. i arrived before 4 and was called in at 5:10, everything went well at first i was called in by a nice lady and we discussed everything professionally. it all went well until i was moved into another room. There sat an elder hispanic woman who barely looked at me while we talked, she asked questions but seemed as though she had better things to do and wanted to get the appointment over with. I told her i had papillary thyroid cancer and she went to go check with the medical nurse or head nurse if i could be on birth control pills because i was taking levothyroxine. Assuming the accent of the head nurse he sounded to be filipino, as im filipino as well i can recognize the accent similar to my parents. The older hispanic lady left the room to ask the head nurse if i can be on birth control pills. I could hear everything they were talking about through the walls!! He asked her if i had surgery and she said no. at that moment i was already shocked! she never asked me any questions about my cancer before she left the room and he kept saying its impossible, he said i couldnt have cancer because it could just be hypothyroid and she marched in the room without closing the door looking at me and she asked if I really had cancer or not. so I replied "I can just show you the scar on my neck" to which she responded okay show me with a demanding voice so I unzipped my jacket and I showed her my neck and she said okay and she left the room with the door open. Overall, everything went well in the begining but i was dissappointed and didnt feel welcome i dont reccomend this place read more
