I would definitely recommend PP if you need your annual exam but do not have insurance.

If you are looking for a brilliant physician who specializes in women's health issues who is caring and compassionate and will take the time to completely answer your questions.....you have found your new physician!

He tries to look at causes outside the box which I think is great, but if you don't quite fit into those he still wants to fit you into one of those options he's discerned. I saw him multiple times over 2017 for unexplained abdominal pain. He suggested it might be my gall bladder and it might need to be removed, which my GI doctor and his referral surgeon didn't concur with. He seemed to care, but I was disappointed by having been forgotten by him and his staff. In the process of assessing my situation had diagnosed me with PCOS; my GI doctor originally sent me to him because he believed my pain was caused by a ruptured cyst and peritonitis instead of a GI condition. He put me on birth control, which caused my already thin hair to start falling out more. Upon making an appointment to switch to a version with less androgens he suggested I might have a thyroid issue and ordered a blood panel to test it. I was told to redo the test 3 times. The first test showed results that didn't match my symptoms, so they wanted a reorder, the staff told me that the lab may have messed it up (not sure if that was her suggestion or what the doctor thought). The 2nd test wasn't ordered correctly so a third was ordered. I had to call them to let them know that the lab results were in because they hadn't contacted me in 2 weeks for the first test. After the 2nd test I asked about being contacted about the results and was told by the staff that I would need to inform them of when the lab results were ready (by viewing the patient portal for Feather River) because they did not receive them from the lab directly. I asked the lab technician downstairs when I went in for the 3rd test if they didn't send them to the doctor directly and if the patient was expected to deliver the results to them (which has never been the case with any other office), and she confirmed that no they send them directly to the doctor. I called a week after and another week after that for the 3rd test and never received a call back or any sort of follow up. I'm just disappointed. Dr. Davis seemed to be a caring individual, but all the same I was forgotten by him and his staff.

Though he is a bit on the quiet side, he is kind and responsive. Once you get to know him, he has a great sense of humor too! I am in the medical field so I understand all the medical terms he uses and appreciated the thorough explanations. That being said, sometimes I had to translate for my husband who is not in the field. He saw me through my infertility phase, (referred me right away to a specialist), my first pregnancy which was uneventful and my second which was very complicated! He went above and beyond to make sure he covered all the bases with my second pregnancy, sending me to multiple specialists and prepared me for all the possible outcomes we might experience. When I began bleeding the night before my planned c-section, he was calm and reassuring, quickly delivered my daughter in an emergent situation safely and took good care of me too. 13 years later, we are still ever grateful for his expertise!

This last summer I was dealing with a lot of pelvic pain (due to my endometriosis, although I…read moredidn't know it at the time) and I ended up in the emergency room. I was told in the ER, after many tests, that I had dark spots on my uterus and cysts on both of my ovaries. The emergency room wrote up a quick overview of what happened while I was there to take to my physician the next morning (since my records would not have been typed up and able to be sent over in less than 24 hours). My doctor then referred me to an OB/GYN at Northern Valley Indian Health, Dr. Mark Schwabe. 4 weeks after my emergency room visit I finally had an appointment. I show up excited because I was finally meeting with someone who could hopefully stop the pain I was in; only to have that hope dashed within minutes of me talking to Dr. Scwhabe. He did not get any of my records from the emergency room, but only had the quick write up the ER had given me to give to my doctor about the tests I had undergone. In that write up they call my cysts "masses" (had he taken the time to get my ER records he would have seen the word "cyst" used many times), so he told me that he had no idea where I was getting this idea that I had cysts (because I apparently just made it up in my brain) and that, unless I wanted surgery I should just learn to live with the pain. I spent less then 15 minutes with him. I left the office in tears. Luckily the next day, still flabbergasted, I told my client the story (who I had no idea worked at Total Women's Health in Paradise) and she got me in to see an amazing doctor (Dr. MeRa Chong) that week who took the time to find out what was going on, ordered more tests, and came up with a plan. Now 3 1/2 months later I get a bill Northern Valley Indian Health because they apparently don't take my insurance AND nobody caught it at the time of the appointment. So to add injury to insult I am going to have to pay out of pocket (money I DO NOT have) for a physician who did nothing for me and treated me so callously that I left him in tears.
