Seems to be a slightly older location? Some of the machines are located closer together than I've seen in most locations, but definitely not as close as in North Vancouver. As large and open as most locations are, I'm sure that there are some locations that have space limitations. The staff were friendly and helpful as usual. I would suggest perhaps having more cleaning stations. The best part of this location is that they have TWO linear leg press machines! Usually there are at least two of every machine with the exception of the linear leg press machines; there is usually one machine but I've also been to a location that didn't have any. read more

I joined a month ago as a black card member. I haven't been a member to a gym forever and I am very pleased with it. Planet Fitness is open, brightly lit and clean. Lots of TVs you can plug your headphones into. A good variety of fitness equipment, something for everyone. the no judgement zone is a fact, you will see all ages and sizes, just everyone trying to reach their own goals. The locker room is a good size, with nice clean showers and dressing rooms. There always seems to be enough space, even when it gets busy. I really like the 30 minute express fitness. It has a red light green light set up. For 1 minute on green you do a step exercise or one of the machines and then on red you rest and switch to the next machine or step. To go all the way through all the machines it takes 30 minutes and you get a full body workout. The other thing I really like is the stretching machine. It is great for my back and IT band. Its so hard to stretch it out but this machine really helps As a black club member I get to have unlimited tanning, the massage bed and loungers and the total body fitness machine. They have lay down and stand up tanning beds which are always nice and clean. The massage bed and loungers are amazing. When you leave it makes you feel like you are leaving a spa instead of a gym. They are so relaxing and help with sore muscles. I am really enjoying the membership and its at a bargain price too. read more

I started running (always wanted to, but I procrastinated). Well, guess what, in January it turns cold. I never skipped a running day, and then I even signed up for a couple of runs in May. One day I ran in the '40's outside. Burrrrr, but I wore my base layer, under shirt, 2 shirts, a zip up fleece jacket, sweat pants, head band and beanie and special gloves for running. On my off days I hated doing at home type circuit.It wasn't effective and incredibly boring. The last time I did this it was 36 degrees outside. The very next day, I took advantage of Planet Fitness 1.00 membership fees, and got a black card membership. Inside it's so clean, spic and span. The machines are in pristine condition and very user friendly. I'm such a dummy on those machines but these are well diagrammed and I've had no problems. There's 12 or 14 t.v's, beautiful locker rooms, and advanced area with ropes, and weights. I especially like the 30 minute circuit, and ofcourse the treadmills. They are so clean and look new. I took advantage of having a black card and use the light therapy bed as often as I can. I've not had time for the massage chairs, but will next week. The light therapy room sends infrared light energy through your muscles.It helps with recovery. Planet Fitness is such a pleasant place, quiet and clean and I've ran the gamete of gyms. I usually say this, but then something turns me off from going. But I have a 2.5K then after that a 5 K coming up and I don't dare miss. I like the employees, who are very pleasant and helpful. The first Monday of the month is pizza Monday. With my black card I have access to tanning and spray tanning which is an extra $5. The locker rooms have private changing areas and private showers. This is nicer than 24 Hour Fitness. I'm glad I joined. read more

Since I travel so much, a few month's ago I opted to upgrade to the "black card" from PF. This increased my monthly dues to 20 bucks as opposed to 10 (still a bargain for a gym membership) but it has offered me the added benefit of being able to workout at any location in the country. It also gives you access to massage chairs and tanning if you are into that sort of thing. There are so many PF locations now that you are never very far away from one. Most have a pretty standardized arrangement of equipment. This location in the KC metro I got the opportunity to work out at 3 times and it is a solid club. First off, this location is quite new and open 24-7. All the equipment and amenities of the club look like they are hardly even broken in, and who does not like a shiny and clean club with new equipment? Because of it's low price point, PF plays the numbers game. They sign up an army of people every month, but only maybe 15% or so actually stick around longer than a few months. If everyone that signed up for a membership actually worked out on a regular basis, they would be screwed since there is no way in hell they could accommodate them all. They are basically counting on people to give up. I have been a reg at 2 different locations for almost 3 years and January- March sucks massively because it is so crowded. By April, enough people quit that things return to normal. This place has a MASSIVE layout of cardio equipment, so you will likely never have to wait for a machine. This club is much larger than my home club in Bloomingdale, Illinois without question, but my home club does have easily 10 times more hot women on display. Who does not like a little motivation while grinding out a workout? They have an ample supply of dumbbells and benches here for strength training, as well as numerous circuit trainers. Though suffice to say that If you are hardcore into weight training PF is probably not a good fit for you. That is clearly not the focus here. The staff was super friendly on my visits and this is a trait I have noticed at PF across the board. You will always be warmly greeted at the door and upon exit. The PF business mode is essentially a DIY approach to fitness. This is why there aren't yoga classes, a smoothie bar and tons of pretentious people around. However, they do offer fitness instruction for those that need it if you seek out one of the employees in a yellow shirt. Overall, at the price point they offer, PF is a great value for most people and this location will do the job for you excellently if you are looking to get healthy. read more

This is just another Planet fitness. I love to workout to stay in shape at my age. But I've never been to a gym I felt judged at, most people are really helpful. The thing that I find most concerning at this Planet Fitness, is how everyone who works there....aren't in shape. That really bothers me at a gym, how am I going to take advice from someone who is in worse shape than me? One trainer seemed knowledgeable, but why would I take advice from someone who clearly doesn't practice what they preach? (I'm not sure how other PF's are but this is not like a gym to me) And they give out the worst foods (pizza and bagels?) to keep people around. This place is the reason that America is obese, they say "don't lift hard, eat bad food, but walk on this treadmill 10-15 min a day and all is forgiven.." no such luck. Sorry people. Sorry if I sound to preachy, I know that many of you go to PF just to get to no judgement, but criticism brings growth. Most gyms don't "judge" you, unless you're actually a bodybuilder, in which case you are trying to be judged. This is a very nice, clean gym. I work nights so I usually don't go in until 1am so my knowledge of how crowded it can get is minimal. My biggest complaint is the hours on the weekends. Friday night after I get off work at midnight I would like to get a workout in but can't because they close at 7pm on Friday and Saturday. They do however open back up at midnight on Sunday night/Monday morning so I can at least start my routine on Sunday. Cheaper than 24 Hr Fitness but they don't have the free weights for stuff like dead lifts, clean and jerk, etc. If you are a serious bodybuilder you might pick 24 Hour Fitness instead although Planet Fitness still has plenty of weights for a casual weightlifter like myself. I have put on good muscle since joining by following my diet and exercise routine. I am not a black card member but if you are even remotely interested in tanning, the 20 bucks a month for the black card gives you access to the tanning beds. My mom used to work for a Tanning place when I was a kid and I can tell you, 20 bucks for unlimited tanning is an absolute steal. In fact the black card would be worth it if all you did is tan. read more

Managment needs to train Personal Trainer to have some flexibility with customers. I understand payment is needed for membership that just expired and a bottle of water BUT think long and hard about it having to HAPPEN NOW! with NO flexibility. I have been a member for 3+ years and work out regularly. I don't think anyone has to worry about me paying him for my water AFTER workout. I would have to say: "So far, so good". Dear Daughter #1 and I have been members for about three weeks, so we are still learning the whole routine. The staff are almost all young and happy to answer our questions and give us a pleasant greeting every time we come in the door. The facility is clean, bright and well laid out. There are 50 treadmills and about 25 each of stair-steppers and elliptical machines. Two HUGE 8 ft. ceiling fans keep the air moving. The locker room and shower area is pristine. All in all, this facility is a bargain for the monthly dues and it is an accepting, encouraging atmosphere in which to spend time. Help is given but judgement is withheld and all ages and levels of physicality are members -- everyone just wanting to get in some exercise experiences. I'm having a real good time! read more

After being told for months that my membership was cancelled and REPEATED charges to my account we're made, I was told by an employee today that it was never cancelled and they cannot help me until a balance that shouldn't exist is paid. I have had this cancelled for almost five plus months now and have not went, but because their employees told me my membership was cancelled and I took their word I'm in the hole. 07Oct19 I wanted to sign up my wife and I on the ten dollar special however, I did not want money coming out of my checking account or credit card. So I wanted to pay in full and was told it would be a $199.00 per person vs $159.00 person (10x12 month plus $39.00 annual fee) and this does not make sense to me and we walked out. It is not $10 month. It's MORE THAN DOUBLE that. An average $21.31 per month is what you can expect deducted from your bank account during your first year if you signed up for the advertised "only $10 a month" plan like me. That figure comes from a $29.00 startup fee, a $31.46 annual fee, and $16.27 in monthly post-surcharge, post-tax dues. You can only auto-pay by checking account. And the contract states that to cancel "the club requires written notification" "via certified mail." I do like the facility and amenities, so I won't be cancelling yet. But their billing and advertising practices are so deceptive that I won't recommend the gym to my friends. read more

Stay away from this OUTFIT. Contracts are a Scam. I joined one year ago on the 15th. Contract is a scam. I quit going the last 4 months but payment was set on auto pay so I continued to pay and planned to cancel membership after contract was met. Now for the scam. I was to be out of town on the contract date 15th and could not go in to cancel. I called and asked about canceling early. I was told that because payment was already made and it was in the last month I could go in anytime to cancel. I went in 7 days early and was told at the location I couldn't cancel until the 15th or would have to pay a $59 cancelation fee. After arguing he waived the cancelation fee but said I would have to pay one additional month of $10.95. Here is the rip-off. Auto pay is paid on the 10th. Contract is the 15th -- after the time the billing for next month is already withdrawn Billing period is on the 17th of each month-- after contract cancelation date. Because payment was already made no refund is made according to the Manager and another month would have to be paid. I cancelled by or before the date as required by contract which means I stopped membership on the 15th of the month the contract ended. A refund of the money collected should be made. I was told by manager if I stopped the auto payment I would have an outstanding bill for the additional month . Get it, You can't cancel until the contract end day but they set their auto pay withdrawal before that , collect the money and will not refund it even though your membership was ended. read more

The staff is very friendly here and easy to talk to. Haven't seen any overweight staff like previous reviewers said. And, if I did, I would say "good for you" to them for working on getting healthy. You don't get thin overnight. It does seem like the staff is a bit short staffed at times so you might have to be a little patient. This is the reason for 4 stars and not 5. I tried the spray tan today and I love it! Nice golden glow... They also seem very serious about not judging members which is nice. read more

I love this place. It is clean, well staffed, people are there to workout. it is not a social club full of beautiful people. It is full of people working out trying to get fit. Do not go into the gym on Monday or Tuesday evenings as you won't be able to get a good workout in because it's way to crowded. The biggest issue I had was the fact that they advertise memberships with no commitment......WRONG! There is very definitely a commitment of a buyout if you want to cancel your membership. False advertising because the ads on TV say no commitment. read more

this gym has a ton of perks along with just a lot of equipment...free tanning in a stand up or lay down station, hydro massages, individual stations divided up by what type of work out you are looking for. they sell 1/2 price drinks and even monster milk. they sell t-shirts, bags, towels...great music, a lot of space. the only thing i wished they would have done because it was my first time going in, was to give me a tour because it is quite overwhelming and the front desk girl just pointed in a general direction of where the locker room was. read more

I joined the gym with the $10.00 membership back in April. I don't go often and I have never worked out in my life. I do not have a weight problem but I am concerned about my health. I am in my mid 50's and have developed osteoporosis and was encouraged to exercise. My daughter was visiting from out of town and I took her to show her around and see if she would be willing to maybe join and start doing something for her health. One of the employees made us leave and would not even let us walk around much less use any of the machines. I explained she was from out of town and would only be here for the week. He did not care and insisted I upgrade my membership or she would have to join and pay $10.00 for 1 week. I was told I should be willing to pay $10.00 for even 1 day if it would make a difference in my daughters weight. I was apalled at the reference that was made to my daughers weight. I asked to speak to the manager and of course he was not there. I have called several times and I am told the manager is not available or isn't there. I think they know my voice now so I will never get a chance to talk to a member of management. I am sure she will never go to a gym after this and I am going to cancel my membership. Do not go to this place unless you want to give your money to them and be treated with no dignity or respect. I suppose if you have a body like Barbie it would probably be ok. read more
