This is easily one of my favorite shops on the Boardwalk. I loved the Salt Water Taffy. I ended up getting an assortment of flavors. They have a huge selection of candy and a coffee & ice cream shop in the back. However, my favorite part was the Açaí in the front. There was a separate area in the front that had Açaí & Strawberry Cups. I got the Vegan Açaí cup the first day. It was a blend of frozen açaí & vegan soft serve topped with granola. It was so delicious, I came back the next morning for an Açaí Cup. I ordered this one with no banana and extra granola. 10/10. Also can we talk about this Labubu Apple because how adorable!! I did order a Vanilla Chai that was a little too sweet for me to drink. But besides that, I had an amazing experience at Planet Candy. The staff were super friendly. And the store was very clean. I can't walk by a candy store without filling up a bag, and Planet Candy had a great variety of delicious candy at pretty reasonable prices. There are a bunch of candy stores on the boardwalk, and this one comes in pretty high up there for this kind of candy experience. read more

Terrible service due to an untrained staff. They clearly should not be offering coffee and espresso beverages and stick to candy. Literally took ten minutes to produce one coffee, while an espresso based drink a lot longer. Unpleasant experience and rude staff. There is also a credit card surcharge at this establishment, however it is not clearly posted. read more

We just had the worst experience here which left me burn and on the way to the ER. We had planned to spend the evening on the boardwalk but now we are forced to leave due to the injuries that occurred while at planet Candy. I ordered a 12 oz chai latte which took the obviously drug impaired woman almost 20 minutes to make. She didn't bother to put the lid on, And as I was walking away I went to sip it and it burned my chin my chest my stomach and dumped into my purse. When I asked for a refund the same woman was extremely nasty and when I told her I had been burned she said, "It was my pleasure." I then asked for a manager who came over along with two other employees, one of which was a male in a blue shirt who, when I explain the situation, had the nerve to say to me "You're in a coffee shop, What do you expect to happen?"I was shocked, who the heck speaks to an injured customer like that? I imagine nobody comes into your coffee shop expecting to be burned by your Clearly intoxicated/drugged up employee. This happened about 20 minutes ago, we are currently on our way to the hospital because I have burns all down my chin and my chest. I highly discourage anyone from coming here because they are extremely rude and they are very dismissive. Between the crackhead telling me it was her pleasure to burn me, and her fellow employee who asked me what else I expected from a coffee shop I can honestly say I have never had an experience like this at this boardwalk. I was born and raised in Central New Jersey and I've been coming down here a long time, but I will never return to Planet Candy. I will be forwarding my doctor's bills though, and potentially initiating a lawsuit based on what we find once we get to the emergency room annex in Point Pleasant. Disgusting unethical behavior. Making excuses for somebody who just burned a customer and then mouthed during her methamphetamine rage and excising it is not the right way to run a business. It's a super way to land yourself a lawsuit which is exactly what's going to happen. The manager and employees told me if I was unhappy I could simply leave a bad review so that's what I'm doing. Once I get to the ER I'm sure things will escalate and it will be more than just a bad review that the owner will be dealing with. This place has absolutely the worst atmosphere, the employees are rude dismissive and all around trash. read more

Staff is so rude, terrible service, no consistency, and the customer is never right! we have a house in Seaside Heights & frequent all the stores on the boardwalk, but every time I go into planet candy i'm disappointed! I went in the other day with my family who was visiting from Nevada & lo and behold. I asked for a cup of Chai tea & not only was it not hot, the Chai was all clumpy on the bottom. I asked her to heat it up so the Chai powder would actually dissolve & She told me NO she said it's perfectly fine, I told her to stick her finger in it then, and she said no it's Hot I just made it. I showed her the tea was not hot & she said well, I don't have a microwave so I can't fix it. I said it is not hot & I'm not paying for it.. we ordered 3 other coffees at the same time, & at least the guy who was helping her made them hot but I was shocked that they didn't offer to make me a new chai. when I said she was rude, The young man said she was not rude & everyone online was shocked. This is a terrible candy store. I walked in with my friends intending to buy some candy for our beach trip. We walked in our way along the boardwalk. I wanted to get candy but thought I would wait until we walked back so I wouldn't have to worry about it melting. I was looking at my options for candy when I decided to try one that I assumed I would like but wanted to know before I bought some. One of my friends tried one too. I intended to come back on our way off the boards to get some. We leave and before I know it I hear someone YELLING "EXCUSE ME!! DO YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST WALK AWAY WITHOUT PAYING??". I was confused since I hadn't really taken anything. I thought trying a singular gummy wasn't anything crazy or illegal. She insisted that me and my friend pay five dollars each for thinking we could steal from them. I told her that it was ridiculous to pay five dollars for one little gummy and told her that if she really wanted I would pay her the twenty cents it would have cost if I had put it in a bag and make her weigh it. She told me that I could pay five dollars or she would call the police for shoplifting. I payed the five dollars and never plan on returning. I wish I could give a zero out of five for how ridiculous this whole thing was. read more

Never buy a caramel apple here. I paid $8.50 for a seasalt chocolate caramel here and the salt was disgustingly over salted. The caramel and chocolate were paper thin, and the apple was rotten! I called and asked if I can return it with the receipt and they simply said no - no returns. I guess they can sell rotten food and when you walk away, it's buyer beware. read more

On Saturday I brought my kids here. We were in the area visiting my grandmother. I gave them each $10 and told them they could pick out candy. I bring the stuff up to pay and the older man rings me up. He says, "$55.81." I was a little taken back but I thought maybe I had just gotten more than I thought. I pay him and walk out. It wasn't settling right so I take everything out of the bags and add it all. It comes out to about $27.00 in my head. I walk in and complain and they find out that they "accidentally" charged me for fudge that I didn't buy, so they tell me they refunded it and give me a receipt. I wasn't going to write this review but I still haven't gotten my money back and that's sad. I got ripped off by a damn boardwalk candy store. Buyer beware and know what you're supposed to pay before you even get up to the counter. These guys are thieves. read more
