I called the Lijsl's President Mr. A. Maresco and he actually picked up his phone around 7pm Mother's day Sunday! I was caught off guard; talk about responsive (I was expecting to leave a message). I explained what happened and he was genuinely upset and took immediate action the next day. He advised that I contact my president of my town soccer club. The next day I did, but by that time my club president as well as the offending team's president was already notified by Mr. Maresco. I'm happy that he took this incident as serious and degrading as I did and made notifications immediately. At this time there has been no notification or resolve of the issue, but I'm very pleased that LIJSL intervened so promptly and I now know that LIJSL are who they say they are. My son has been playing with shooting Stars Sports for almost 4 years and every coach is kind, courteous, patient and caring for each child. As great as those qualities are, they teach kids in a way that encourages teamwork, respect and love for sports. Coach Mike, coach Chuck, Coach Sean, Coach Margaret and Coach Brenda have all been great but Coach Maddy has always been my son's favorite. She truly teaches kids the skills they should know and makes the love playing at the same time. Truly wonderful. Ask about their parties also, had my sons 7th birthday a week ago and he already asked to have the same party again, he had an absolute blast and is still talking about it.

More importantly, it is my playground for my outdoor summer workouts. I can accomplish many of my exercise routines on this track & field. Anything I imagine I can do it here, and I can get very creative with working out. From suicides on the field, sprinting up and down the bleachers, running laps (forward & backwards; must try), sit-ups, pushups, etc etc. After all that, I can kick the soccer ball around for extra cardio. Burning calories is easily done here, and getting burnt from the sun is just as easy here, too.

Our coach for our 2009 girls team is perfectly on task with exactly what our girls need, bringing each of them up to higher skill levels. Girls come from Long Island towns to Auburndale Soccer Club because they know we play to win. Girls teams here win championships because they receive superb training. This is why they climb the divisions in the NY Club Soccer League, EDP, National Premier League, and beat nearby academies like Albertson, SUSA, and East Meadow... and win the Final Four and/or NY Cup tournaments. The Auburndale Soccer Club coaches did a TERRIBLE job when my son joined because he knew absolutely nothing about soccer whatsoever and they failed miserably to teach the kids anything. The coach and assistants had the kids running around like chicken without heads and the kids were visibly upset because they didn't know what to do. Is this how you teach 5-6 year olds? Really?! Never ONCE did the head coach or assistant coach explain anything to the kids which was utterly shocking. We went from Day 1 and by the third game, I lost all hope and finally asked the coach why there was no direction. He said my husband or I should have had my son ask for training. Again REALLY?!? With this mentality, I might have taught my son dance lessons in my backyard with 10 monkeys in tutus!!! I was so disgusted for the lack of coaching that we gave up and ended up joining a little league instead where he is flourishing. Shame on Auburndale Soccer Club for not hiring better coaches who actually can teach the game instead of charging for lessons when there is none!
