Ahh, the local 7-11... What's there to say? They have everything you need at any hour of the day or…read morenight with no fuss. Except for the damn beer key. See, after 9PM on most nights I've stopped in for a 6 pack, it's considerably after dark. That's kind of the way things work with most people, right? Apparently they had too many run-ins with punk kids stealing beer. Put bells on the door handles or something, don't pester the other 99% of your adult customers by having them carry around some key while they make their nachos and peruse the magazines... Yeah, you can take it back, but you see my point. Other than the key thing, this is just like any other 7-11 store. Good lighting, a Red-Box out front, generic local staff that treat you like you treat them-- the way it should be.

The parking lot is poorly lit and has awkward to navigate entrances unless you are driving a large truck that doesn't care about driving up or down off sidewalks. I don't know if it's the norm but I felt like the guy at the counter was not all there. I try asking a question and he literally just looked at me... ummm, wow ok. He seemed to be watching a show or something... it was just very very odd. I know convenient stores aren't known for customer service that is spectacular, but it is nice if you ask a simple question to get a yes or no back. We were in a staring contest - and it just felt weird. I will say that I do appreciate the availability of freshish foods. I was hungry and had a snack I wasn't sure would be sufficient. I grabbed a pack of their sliders. They kept fine. Later I did eat them - I changed out the American cheese for Swiss, added mayo and Grey Poupon + some spring mix lettuce.

There is typically a…read moregrocery item I buy that is not easy to find, having been discontinued at the regular Walmart and sort of moved over to Walmart Neighborhood Markets. Plus, I was motoring along OR-43 through pastoral West Linn. I found what I was looking for. I might have even bought another thing or two. This Walmart Neighborhood Market is the nicest of any I've gone into and I've probably been inside a handful. The store is clean, the selection is vast, and the prices are reasonable. Then, the employees are on top of their game and those shopping here are civil, meaning that drama and theatrics will be at an absolute minimum. If you want drama, rent a flick. That's not what one wants while shopping. Note that the Walmart Neighborhood Market concept is a bifurcation from the regular Walmart or super center. They are meant to be, first and foremost, a grocery store. This is not where you come to buy socks, a toaster oven, or fertilizer. In fact, you just might be able to do all your grocery shopping here. As you do your shopping here, you might think you're on vacation. Sitting up on its knoll with its treed parking lot and woodsy appearance, you might think you're in either Monterey/Carmel or Sausalito shrouded in June gloom. Instead, you're at a type of Walmart under this area's consistent gray skies and in "Lake Oswego Lite."

I like the variety offered for staples, including organic choices. It's a clean, well stocked store. Staff are helpful and friendly. Prices are reasonable. Really happy it's there.
