My husband was overcharged for mediocre care and has been paying out of pocket for his own care elsewhere. They take forever to call you back--one time the receptionist forgot to check me in and I was waiting over an hour for my appointment. They've canceled on me a lot and have very limited availability. They just canceled on my daughter Friday afternoon for her Monday afternoon appointment. When I tried to reschedule, nothing would work until 6 weeks later, meaning my daughter would go without a cleaning for 9 months. Mind you, I scheduled 7 months prior and they gave me not even a full workday of head's up. It seems like they prioritize a revolving door of clientele over building clientele from good service and care. We'll find somewhere else.

I could tell from the beginning from talking to the receptionist how welcoming the staff would be! Afterwards my mom says she couldn't even feel the injection going in to numb her gums and quickly told me to make an appointment for my dad as well.

I came to this dental office on the recommendation of my partner, who's been a patient here since…read morechildhood and always spoke highly of the care they received. Based on that, I was genuinely looking forward to becoming a patient myself. While the staff were kind and the care itself was great, I have to express major concern about how billing and insurance transparency were handled. I'm 30 and relatively new to having health insurance. I've always been cautious--some might say overly cautious--because I've heard too many horror stories about surprise medical bills and unclear insurance coverage. That's why I was very thorough in asking upfront about the cost of my treatment and whether anything might be billed later. I was told clearly that my insurance would not cover the deep cleaning due to a waiting period, which I understood. I made it very clear that I was fine paying out of pocket, but only if the amount I was quoted was the total and that there would be no additional charges later. I double-checked before both of my appointments and even again while paying--each time, I was reassured that the amount I paid was the full and final cost. Then I started receiving conflicting bills. One person told me I owed $325, another said $773, and yet another said $441. This inconsistency is incredibly frustrating and has completely undermined my trust in their billing process. If you're someone like me who needs cost clarity and peace of mind, I would not recommend this office. The care may be great, but the lack of transparency on billing is deeply disappointing. The update is that they recently gave me a treatment plan with all these added numbers and notes on this sheet which is totally different then the ones I've received in person after paying for my services honestly it's kind of ridiculous . Especially when I explicitly asked for transparency and nothing that was written down was spoked to me at all.

Roughly a year or so ago the office staff was changed and that's when we started to experience issues with scheduling. We would show up for an appointment and be told we didn't have an appointment or were unable to schedule an appointment. The final straw was two weeks ago when "office manager," Erica told me that my son had an appointment that was missed and I knew nothing about because they hadn't updated records to reflect my new information but keep in mind my daughter also goes there and they have correct information for her doesn't make sense. After a heated exchange I asked for records and kids were switched. I took my daughter to new dentist and was told the four teeth there were pulled by Dr. Seth for install of braces didn't need to be pulled and that Dr. Seth used a 30 year old technique to do my daughter's braces in addition to many other things. I couldn't believe this now my son has an appointment and I'm upset because how many other things were told to us or done that didn't need to be done. I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. STAY AWAY!!!!! I gave 1 star because a star rating needed to be added to post.

That was only because the dentist that owns the place came in and jammed a needle the size of small TV antenna into the roof of my mouth causing my nose to go numb within minutes. Needless to say that really hurt. After that, it took another 15 minutes to pull the tooth and sent me on my way. My head was still spinning, i felt as though I needed a few minutes to recover. Nope. "your done, the doctor wants to see you in 2 weeks". That was it. They scheduled a follow-up 2 weeks later for 3 PM on a Thursday afternoon. I arrived 5 minutes early. After sitting in the waiting room for 50 minutes, I decided to ask what was taking so long. As the young lady turned from talking to the other receptionist, she said they were preparing a room for me right now. I believe this to be a rehearsed response to counter people like me who value their own time. I sat back down for about 2 minutes when the dental assistant came out and called my name. As I walked into the room 2 dental assistants were walking out of that room with their hands full of whatever they had just picked up. At this point, I knew I was given a rehearsed response and I was now seeing red. There was no apology, i was simply asked to sit and wait for the doctor. I asked "how long will that take", not without frustration in my voice, her response was 10 to 15 minutes. The red I was seeing now became blurry so I simply left to avoid showing up on a tik tok video. This was nothing less than a dentist office staff that incompetently overbooked its patients for the day. The fact they took 3 hours butchering my mouth to extract my tooth 2 weeks earlier should have been a red flag for me. Well, dear reader, this is your Red Flag. You should go somewhere else.

She was patient and well-informed and explained every step so that I would be comfortable throughout the entire process. We shared a room for a little over an hour because she made it efficient, and she had a great sense of humor. It was my first time - the stinging and tingling over the next day weren't fun (but it's gone now, a day later) and my teeth are already pretty white naturally, so I probably won't be doing another Zoom session. But if I did, these guys would be my very first choice. It was cost-effective ($100-$200 less than competing options) and they had some limited availability (vs. other places, which were more expensive AND less available), so I can't say enough good things. The office looked clean and professional, and the dentist who came in for the quick inspection was extremely nice - Dr. Taqvi - and if I were living in the area, he'd be at the top of my list. The front desk staff was hit or miss - some of the folks were extremely nice and courteous, while others (and I think this applies to the call center staff in DG) were not so nice and not so helpful. But overall a great experience!

It's safe to say that while most people don't enjoy going to the dentist, some may hate them more than others (although 'hate' is such a strong word I'd reserve for Yankees fans, the cheatin' Astros and people who don't use their turn signal). My wife signed up our family with Solace Dental in 2020 and it's been great ever since. You wouldn't think much of them based on their location near a Dollar Tree in the northwest corner of Boughton & Weber Rd, but Solace is pristine on the inside. The waiting room is clean, tastefully decorated for the season, and every patient room has a TV. Most of their equipment is state-of-the-art. Dr. Zaidi is simply awesome, although his brother doesn't have quite the same rapport or gentle touch. All of the dental assistants and front desk staff are SUPER friendly, possibly the nicest people I've ever encountered outside of Chik-fil-A. They're a good-looking bunch, too, though that's neither here nor there. On a prior visit they were running behind which made for a much longer wait than usual, but that was an isolated incident and recently I was in & out quickly. They accept most insurance plans and copay amounts are generally reasonable. I can't think of a negative thing to say about them. * TL;DR * Do you swear to pull the tooth, the whole tooth, and nothing but the tooth, so help you god? Whether you're scheduling a routine cleaning or a more involved procedure (queue the whirring dentist drill), Dr Zaidi and his team are dedicated to a positive patient experience. They use cutting-edge technology and are consummate professionals through & through. Scheduling and communication is always on-point. If you're thinking about switching dental providers, do it. I highly recommend Solace.

I have been coming to Shining Smiles for several years now…read more First, the good: All of the dentists that practice there are very nice. They are knowledgeable, and they take the time to explain what exactly is going on with your teeth and overall oral health. The techs that work there as well are also very nice and pleasant. It is close to my home, and the scheduling is very flexible. I also like that they all offer Netflix to watch while you wait. Now the not so good: Yesterday, it took quite a while for me to be called in the back, exactly 35 minutes. The tech apologized for the wait, which I did appreciate. However, the waiting room was also not up to par. When they first opened, the decor was very nice and trendy. Now the seating in the waiting area is very dirty, there are rips in the couches, and the decals are peeling off the walls. The other complaint I have is that each time I go for my appointment, I see someone different. I'd rather be able to see the same dentist. Since I've been going, I've seen at least 5 different dentists. I did really like all of them, but it's always someone different. I think I will be looking for a new dentist office. *Update-- I decided to give them another shot --I was pleasantly surprised they got a new couch. And the dentist I just saw, was the same from my prior visit.

I had an appointment scheduled for tomorrow, and late today I received a call informing me that the office needed to postpone it. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident. The same thing has happened to me before, and my wife has also experienced similar last-minute changes with this office. I completely understand that occasionally an unexpected situation can force a dental office to reschedule an appointment. However, when it happens repeatedly, it becomes a pattern and reflects poor planning and appointment management. Patients organize their work schedules, family responsibilities, and other commitments around medical and dental appointments. Canceling or postponing appointments at the last minute--particularly when it happens repeatedly--shows very little consideration for the patient's time. I am posting this review because prospective patients should be aware of our experience before scheduling here. The issue is not the dental treatment itself; my complaint is specifically about the reliability of their scheduling and planning. If you need a dental office where you can reasonably rely on an appointment taking place on the date and time scheduled, I would strongly suggest asking this office about its cancellation and rescheduling practices before making an appointment.
