The crown did…read morenot fit when it got put in, so it had to be adjusted by removing some of the enamel, leaving a large metal spot on top of the crown. In addition to this, the crown didn't look like a tooth, but a piece of gum pressed into the back of my mouth. I switched dentists after this experience and my new dentist was quite taken aback when he looked at the crown. Now, two years later with a different dentist (moved to a different town), it turns out that the shape of the crown is so bad (it bulges out) that there are pockets underneath it and my current dentist suggested that I replace it, because there will be trouble in the future. The office itself doesn't seem very clean and could use some renovation. Now, the staff and the dentists are friendly and helpful, but they don't seem to be able to do their job. Avoid if you can, rather take a longer trip to a dentist, it's not worth the convenience to be able to walk there.

When it was pouring rain or there were a couple of feet of snow outside, you couldn't beat it for convenience. They were nice enough, and I don't have dental needs beyond semiannual cleaning and x-rays. Here are the two dealbreakers that brought this place from 2-3 stars to 1. 1) When I recently called to have them email or fax my records to a new dentist, I learned that they only offer "snail mail" record fowarding. I was genuinely nonplussed. What kind of modern-day office doesn't have a scanner, and uses this as their excuse to delay care and transfer of services to a new provider when such a thing is common, even necessary? To cap it off, the receptionist was nightmarishly rude on the phone. 2) After cleanings, my teeth didn't feel entirely clean. You know that impossibly smooth feeling when all the plaque and tartar has been obliterated from every nook and cranny, and you can't help running your tongue over your spotless brights? Not here you don't. Save your time and money and frustration and go somewhere else.

First and foremost, the doctor talked to me like an adult, answered all my questions and explained everything he was doing. He and his staff were gentle and patient, which is so key to any dental experience- especially when you are in pain! I needed an extraction and he referred me immediately to a surgeon who saw me right away. The tooth is out! And the best news is that Dr. Quigley is setting up a treatment plan for my ongoing dental issues - not just telling me to come back in six months. It felt great to be listened to and cared for with compassion and understanding. Highly recommended!

They made space for me in their busy calendar, calmed me down. helped me get on a payment schedule for my non-insurance, and explained everything to me in detail under I understood my decisions and my charges. Dr. Quigley took absolute care with my teeth, helped me with my sensitively problems, diagnosed my undiagnosed nighttime grinding, and helped me get on a WAY better dental routine [even though I literally thought I was taking the best care of my teeth - I wasn't]. No cavities in 3 years! I'm in Washington, DC now and I wish I could go up to New Haven just to go to the dentist.

Had it done Friday morning, and was back at work Tuesday. If I was less of a weenie, I could've gone in Monday. The staff was very nice. I had an issue with my insurance, and the office staff took care of it. I never waited long at appointments, and they always called me back promptly. The main nurse who worked with me on the day of my surgery was absolutely lovely and put me right at ease. The office needs a bit of updating, but that didn't really matter to me. I found it homey; others may be turned off. Don't let it deter you, Dr. Berkley was incredibly competent, answered all my questions (a zillion) patiently, and didn't make me feel rushed. I even asked him why he chose this profession and if he liked it, and he had a great answer and didn't brush it off (no idea why I find that important, I just do). I think the only thing I would change would be to ask for a bit more time between the surgery itself and the take-home instructions, since I barely remember talking with the doctor when it was over. Ten minutes would have made a big difference. My follow-up appointment was with a different provider, Dr. Hakimizadeh, but after a moment of disappointment since I had some questions, it was fine. He was also quite nice. I would absolutely return here if I needed any other oral surgery procedures.

I said I preferred 8am due to work, she told me that wasn't available that it'd have to be around 8:30am. When I arrived they said I wouldn't be seen because the doctor was already with a patient under anesthesia and that I was supposed to arrive at 8! Now I won't be able to be seen until 3:30PM!!! With the infection I have in my mouth caused by the surgery I had with them I would recommend finding a more reliable dental surgeon. Or at least one with more reliable secretaries.

After our son's first appointment ( 5 years old at the time), he recommended 6 caps (his fee around $5,000) and that the procedure be done under general anesthesia at the hospital; we were shocked as we did not believe our son had significant problems. In addtion to his staff not being very helpful, I asked to speak with him for 5 minutes as we had never experienced ths before especially our child going under general anesthesia. Dr. Kohn seemed aggravated but agreed. He then met with me for 5 or 10 minutes and sent me a consult bill for $150 for that brief meeting. Our fault for not getting second opinion but we proceeded with the caps only to have all 4 of the non metal caps break and chip within 2-3 years.

They fell out less than a year later. He then told us that my son might need surgery and would develop an abscess if not treated immediately. It was going to cost us thousands of dollars for this fix. I decided to get a second opinion. The second dentist simply stated that we just needed to get the fillings replaced and there was no abscess. No type of surgery was needed. To even put a 6 year old through surgery was just absurd, when it was a simple fix of refilling a couple of lost fillings. This brings me to my next complaint. My insurance company would not cover the filling replacements on the same teeth within less than a calendar year. My second opinion dentist had stated that I should return to Dr. Kohn to have the fillings replaced. I shouldn't have to pay to have them replaced by a different dentist. I said no thank you. I would not return to Dr. Kohn if he was the last dentist on earth. I mean that! I would rather pay out of pocket and get my kids fillings redone, at another dentist, than to return to Dr kohn. Steer clear of Dr. Kohn. Please!

I'm never too cold or too hot. The staff is friendly and welcoming! The atmosphere makes you forget you are at a dentist office! Scheduling appointments is super easy and the reminders are helpful. She always asks how I am doing and remembers updates from 6 months prior. Elizabeth is the best hygienist! The hygienists are for sure kind and attentive. Drs spend 2 -5 minutes with patients. Last visit was super shady. First, I filled out the paperwork with medical information - totally appropriate for 6 month visit. None of my information has changed. AND THEN I was told I was required to complete an identical medical survey for a private company to access medical records that sold products for sleep apnea. I was told patients could leave the office without completing it by the front desk- totally unethical- there should have a been a disclosure form available around transparency and consent. As a medical provider, I was disgusted by their ruse and will not be returning. The overall care is adequate, but administrative practices are suspect.
