Sorry for the delay, but as the saying goes, "Better late, than never."…read more I typically create my own itinerary whenever hubby and I go on a trip, but I didn't want to mess up on a place we've never been before, esp. since this was going to be our anniversary gift to ourselves. In addition, I wanted us to island hop to Santorini and Crete. So I was happy to find a local travel agency. Nick was so easy to work with. We gave him dates of when we wanted to go and our budget. And the only thing I wanted to be responsible for was the excursions. He worked with us when we wanted to downside on certain hotels and answered questions at a reasonable time. Despite having a few questionable logistics, everything worked out smoothly during our trip to Greece. At first, we weren't going to do private transportation, but having it from and to the airport really makes a difference. In the end, we never had to call Nick for anything during our trip. We were able to enjoy every bit of our trip without a problem. So, thank you for making our anniversary trip truly memorable.

I have been lucky enough to go on over 30 cruises in different parts of the world. The very first…read morecruise line I ever traveled with back in the 90s was Norwegian. Back then they were a very good company and I had several great cruises with them. At some point it seemed that either finances or management started to decline and the quality started to drop and we had two very bad experiences back to back. One was mechanical issues with the actual props on the ship . The second was in the air conditioning malfunction in our cabin that they could not fix for a week and we literally had to pile blankets on top of us to sleep because it was an icebox in there. After that I stepped away from them for a while a long while and I sailed with virtually everybody else Holland, Princess, Carnival, Costa, Celebrity and even a small defunct a cruise line that used to operate in the Tahitian islands. After a lot of different medical situations that came up for myself and other family members we were looking at choices as to whether we should go back to Hawaii or take a cruise because at this point we have been to so many of the islands in the Caribbean especially that it's hard to find something unique to try as a first experience. I happen to find a package on the break away with Norwegian that included stops in the Dominican Republic and Tortola as well as St. Thomas and their private island. this was the only itinerary that I found that was unique to meet are wanting to go to places that we really haven't seen. So after having a conversation with the Norwegian consultant directly in their corporate office and after explaining my concerns on some of their quality I was assured that I would have the best experience ever. So I went ahead and booked the cruise. This is also a cruise to celebrate my anniversary with my wife so it's extra important to me that would be a good experience. Approximately four weeks before sailing I got a notification that they were dropping Tortola and the dominion republic stops. I contacted them and it was an absolute nightmare to get anybody on the phone. Two different times I waited for over an hour on hold only to be hung up on and when I finally spoke with somebody they said read the fine print you can't make any changes due to itinerary changes. When I asked them how I could talk to somebody at the corporate office they said you can't do that you have to just deal with post cruise through an email system. So apparently they can call you back or even take your incoming phone call immediately when you're booking but as soon as you're booked well then the story changes. now to add insult to injury we decided that since we had no choice since nobody would get back to me to go ahead and finalize our airfare and plan on going on the cruise. I did go ahead and send emails to the corporate office none of which have ever been returned. Then just days before we were leaving five days to be exact our daughter was in a severe accident that ripped off her left arm. I contacted the cruise line multiple times through all of their email systems through all of their departments telling them the situation. We didn't even know if there might be a possibility for her to be released from the hospital and for her to go with us to help her at rehabilitate. It really didn't matter because I never got a single response from Norwegian. To this day two months later I have never received a reply. Here's what I'm trying to impart. Things will go wrong life happens customer service decisions have to be made. I have dealt with every cruise line that exists and nobody is as bad as Norwegian. Do not book a cruise with Norwegian do not Spend your money with Norwegian. You will have a terrible experience and if anything goes wrong you can count on them doing absolutely nothing. I tried to write only positive reviews which you will notice if you look in my history this is the most negative review on anything on any person or any company I have ever had to write in my life.

But traveling that far begs us to tack on a trip somewhere in Europe. Last year, we went to Ireland and Scotland, but this year, we wanted something in Portugal or Italy. But lining up our already-selected United flights with the tour dates of some tour of those places became challenging. We turned to Mary Adams at Destinations Unlimited and called her on a Saturday of a three day weekend, expecting to leave a message. Surprise! She answered the phone, understood what we were trying to do and promised to call back in a couple of days with some ideas. And that is exactly what she did... she called with several options and prices. She answered all our questions - occasionally after checking with the tour companies and then booked our tour for us. She knew that were leaving for London before the trip packet from the tour company might arrive, so she ensured that it got sent to us early. I felt, all along, like we were in good hands with a professional who has been there, done that and got the merit badge for it... we enjoy working with Destinations Unlimited and will work with Mary again.
