If you're looking for a good pizzeria near Porta Nuova, and perhaps nearby Da Michele has a long line, Pizzium is a great option.
Located on 2 floors, the vibe is welcoming and friendly, rustic and a bit chaotic. The pizza is definitely Neapolitan-style, with a couple of distinctive features: it is perhaps a bit undercooked compared to other pizzas, with basically no charring at the bottom, which results in a more chewy pie. Also, the edges end up being very raised and puffy, way more than average.
The pizza here is seriously delicious. And they also serve another equally delicious pizza-related product: the panuozzo, which is basically a sandwich that uses pizza dough instead of bread. I tried the porchetta one and I definitely recommend it.
Another thing I recommend to try is their burrata, which is wonderfully creamy. Try it on the pizza, in a salad, or as a side dish; their burrata is amazing.
If possible, book in advance, as this place fills up very quickly after 7:30pm. read more
