A serviceable restaurant with very nice waitstaff. My waiter and I got along fine in Italian, but there were both French and English-speaking diners nearby and their waiters seemed to also be able to converse with them without issue. I ended up at Ulisse after taking a bit of a walk around the area and finding myself at a loss for options - two of the places I'd made a note to stop into were closed randomly. The prix fix option was very affordable here (I believe it was 12 euro), which was probably the main attraction. The house white wine was very good, and as part of the special menu I was able to choose among a few appetizers and a main meal. The soup is a sort of Aosta specialty and is a vegetable broth with cabbage and crusted cheese/bread over the top. It needed quite a bit more salt than they gave it, but once I seasoned it, it was actually pretty tasty. The kebobs were just so-so, kind of tough and not that flavorful, and the "salad" (see photo) on the side was a joke at best. I might try the pizza here if I returned as I wasn't super impressed by the main meal items. The patio is pleasant to sit at, however, and it wasn't hard to get a table in the evening. read more
