But a good cheese stuffed crust is worth the extra cost. This restaurant was in a beautiful neighborhood. And I'll also note that the server (ie, the person doing the behind the counter AND serving), was really attentive given she was doing double duty. I've had their fries before and know how it is done (it is air fried or done in an oven) so it isn't as tasty as fries which are deep fried in oil. They offer 3 sizes of poutine. I opted to get their large and it was a lot. I was stuffed at the end and I didn't have dinner when I arrived home and only had some liquids. For the cheese, they use mozzarella (they use the cheese that they use with their pizzas) and poutine purists will probably complain or not like it but I personally didn't have an issues with it. The poutine is decent. I've had better but generally those had fries which were deep fried in oil/fat and not oven baked.

New Montreal style pizza…read more Considering I've not heard of or tried "old Montreal style pizza"; just sayin'. The crust, similar to the NYC pie. Thin, gently crisp, some chew and char. Easily foldable. Follow it up with just the right amount of quality ingredients are brought together in just the right proportions with quirky flair. Upside down pizza (cheese first, sauce on top) or stranger still, a double carb potato pizza. Speaking of, the potato pie is so good. All the ingredients from a potato mille feuille with a hit of fresh rosemary and grana padano atop the well made crust. Rich, creamy, nuff said. Equally good the mushroom with its "mushroom cream" (think a thin duxelles) base, rosemary to season and meaty creminis and motz to round it all out. Finally the sopressatta. I mean, come on, who doesn't love a cheese pie made even more complex with goat cheese, honey and grana padano? Sold by the slice or whole 18 inch pie. Inexpensive. Is it better than the NYC pie? They spoke in French and were bilingual able to speak in English as well. They also have English menus available so we were able to give our translator app a rest.
