I know this place has been here for years and generations of uni students have used it as a Friday night hang out, but I think once you leave college and are no longer yearning refectory food, Castellis may not be your restaurant of choice. The pizzas are okay, but the pasta, or, more specifically, the pasta sauce is gluggy and dense and smells like glue at times. The garlic bread is heavy with butter, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but it makes it difficult to eat anything past that first serving of buttery goodness. You can get a decent coffee here at times, and if you want a location that can hold a number of people and feed them just as well, this is the place. But if you're on a romantic evening, or if you're a "foodie" I'd suggest you look elsewhere.

All you can eat pizza and pasta? Yes please…read more For $21.50, you receive more carbs than you would probably consume in an entire week. But gosh it's worth it. Arriving with a group of 10 ravenous friends (bookings are essential), we were ready to get our chow on. It's worth picking up some wine on the way as it's BYO, so after a glass each and a lot of 'umming' and 'ahhing' over the menu, we made our choice. First off, we shared several baskets of garlic bread and awaited the speedy arrival of our pastas. The pasta is made fresh on the premises daily, so we spaghetti with a choice of nine different sauces. Settling on a hot spicy sauce with lamb, I was glad for the garlic bread to ease the burn - they're not light-handed with the chilli, which is great! Following our entrees of pasta (you can order more than one bowl), our mains of pizza arrived. The pizzas are huge, so it's good to order a variety of them (we went for pesto pizza with eggplant; Italian sausage with fetta and capsicum, and satay chicken). All absolutely delicious. I guess really the only drawback to this is that there is a limit to how much carbs you can actually fit in in one sitting. Alternatively, opt for the al a carte menu and avoid the fear of filling up too quickly.
