My final pizza on this trip to Rome. I've had both fantastic and underwhelming pizza on this trip, and I was praying that this wouldn't be the latter. I came with a group, so the menu for the night was pizza, salad, and sorbetto.
The salad was nothing but shredded iceburg lettuce and olive oil, which sounds disgusting, but in reality it was actually REALLY good! The quality of the oil is just so wonderful that you can't help but savor it.
I don't consume dairy, so I wasn't able to have the mozzarella on my pizza. Therefore, I was given a pizza with nothing but crust and tomato sauce. It sounds like the most bland concoction ever created, but once again, it was so good! The crust was outstanding, and it was exactly the way that pizza crust should be made. The tomato sauce was jam packed with flavor, and there was plenty of it. This pizza would've been a lot better had it had a vegetable or two on top (hence the 4 stars), but it was still fantastic nonetheless.
For dessert, we were given lemonchello sorbetto. I can't even explain how good it is! If you're in Rome and you're not consuming lemonchello every single day, you're missing out big time. It's the perfect balance between tart and sweet. This sorbet was SO good, if I had the option to get a pint, I would have! If you're staying at the hotel across the street, this is definitely a great dinner choice. read more
