Because it's so crisp and delicious. I have a little inside information for you. They make their dough on location. All of their vegetables are hand chopped, their salad dressings and pizza dressings are homemade. Even their macaroni salad is yummy and made on location. Since 1969 Nicks has been buying full chickens and cutting them on location. Check out all the fun ads on Instagram. And don't even get me started about Fish Fridays. The first time I ordered fish and chips, it was handed to me in a pizza box and I thought they had made a mistake but it's because the fish is so big and so flaky and so tasty that it needs to sit in a large box. Back to chicken for a moment, I challenge you to pick up a snack pack of chicken and get home before eating the chicken. I haven't been able to meet this challenge yet. Grandma Sue

It takes them a while to make one of these maybe because it's so thick anyhow it was ready when they told me it would be. It's such a thick crusted pizza. It just doesn't seem to have as much flavour as it should. The sauce doesn't stand out. And it's just sort of blah with all those toppings. But hey, people in the area seem to love it. This place has been open since 1969. $37.90 for a 9" pizza seems pretty high. But it does weigh a lot. So if you look at per lbs it's likely a great deal.

Situated in an old mill Joes keeps a rustic feel adding to its charm. The menu which is somewhat limited focusing on Pinsa (like a pizza) for which they appear to use authentic Italian ingredients. The Joe theme is carried over to the pinsa menu names. I had the Joe Theisman, a goat cheese pesto pinsa. Very well prepared. We also ordered a beet and feta salad with chicken that was fresh and quite good. Service was very attentive, prices fair.

If you sit outside, perched on the side of the mill, you have a wonderful view of the river and falls that run through Almonte. It is however a bit loud at times, impacting conversation slightly. Food and service were both solid. My Joe Walsh pizza was perfectly prepared and tasty. My meal partners all enjoyed their choices as well. It was a bit too much for me to finish! The crust was fabulous. It is a limited menu: beer, wine, non alcoholic drinks, and anti-pasta, pasta, salads and the Pinsa Romana we had, heralded as the new pizza. This is not a place for gluten free eaters! Definitely worth a visit for atmosphere along with a glass of wine and pizza.
