The cafe serves cake, hot drinks and a few other items while you wait for your train. I really do like the concept. Old waiting rooms given new life! I really love that, but it unfortunately does not change the fact that the cappuccino that they serve here is really horrible. It tastes of burnt coffee and hot water. So the two stars are for the concept, not the coffee.

For fun I ordered off the 39 euro prix fixe menu and my wife ordered of the 29 euro prix fixe menu, but a la carte is always available. Our meal started with a glass of red wine local to the Bandol area, a true delight to those who are discriminating vinophiles like me. Next they brought out a starter that was a seafood pate. My wife's first courses was scallops cooked to perfection in a leek sauce with puff pastries on the side, and mine was an incredible fresh salad with small tasty Mediterranean fish on the side. Maine courses were fish - my wife's a whole broiled fish and mine a dorade fillet. We finished of the meal with the most memorable creme brulee and molten chocolate cake with pistachio ice cream. The selection by the glass is rather large, and with interesting varietals and local wines. While my waitress didn't know her wines that well, she sent over a sommelier who knew exactly what she had and what the wines were like. To start I had some rosé and some panisses, those lovely chick-pea flour fritters. Then I ordered an Argentine-style sausage that was spiced with herbs and came with chimichurri. It was cooked perfectly and had a delicious crust and a soft and moist inside. Amazing. Another night I had a cheese and charcuterie plate which was simple and perfect. And fun wines throughout. I'm a big wine geek and I would run, not walk, back to this place, which with its lovely wines and simple no-nonsense food is my favorite kind of place to frequent.
