I got the mixed seafood over gluten free pasta in scampi sauce. Seafood was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately gluten free pasta was grainy. Even though I was told they were busy, the delivery time was totally reasonable and I have no complaints. I ordered the chicken parm with pasta and a house salad. Food was well prepared, tasty, and portions were quite generous all around. Pasta was well cooked, sauce was good and well seasoned, and the chicken cutlets well prepared. I think my only real quibble would be the amount of cheese blanketing the chicken, but I might also be that rare bird that doesn't like a lot of cheese? Salad was good, but I think it would be improved by using mixed greens instead of iceberg and fresh olives instead of canned. That said, my meal was a welcome treat after a long day of driving and I will happily order from NBP again soon. I look forward to picking my way around their menu in the future and will definitely be trying some pies!

When you're made to fill like you're burdening the staff before you even order, it's not a great start. I asked another local business was Chirios was and he responded, "depends on who's making your food" lol. I've worked in similar looking pizzerias, so the condition of the "kitchen" didn't concern me much. It actually kinda feels like you're in the back of house, rather than in a dining room. The local free library was interesting. I ordered a cold Italian. I wasn't expecting much when I first saw the bread, but the sandwich turned out to be decently tasty. My biggest complaint is the amount of oil added to the sub. The menu doesn't mention vinegar and oil, which made me worry the sandwich might be dry. I usually opt for vinegar but skip the oil. The Italian included both, but way to much oil. You can see in the pic, the amount of oil pooled in the to-go box. And that's after what soaked into the bread! I think I would have enjoyed the sub way more if I had asked for no oil. All that being said, I would def go back when I'm in the area.

Now there is an obscure law in Virginia, that says that "al dente" is some sort of Communist plot and not a way to cook pasta. As a result, just like every other Italian restaurant within 500 miles, the pasta is overcooked into a flabby, submissive state. You show that pasta who's boss, Virginia. The tomato sauce, as well, said nothing besides just tomato sauce; and the meatballs were more balls than meat. The wines come in Cabernet and a couple other colors, clearly decanted from boxes just minutes ago. I am not a picky fellow, but I just couldn't eat it. It was all just calories. I give two stars gladly for the help, who were just as polite as pizzeria pie, and talked all sorts of kindnesses to us from beginning to end. Understand: these are very sweet people running this place. But authentic Italians: please just don't eat here. You will be really sad and angry if you ignore this advice.
