They didn't have a veggie salad so I just asked if they could make a salad with just vegetables no meat or cheese on it. The dough was so thick it was over cooked on top and undercooked inside we each tried one piece and left it on our plates the salad had 4 cherry tomatoes and 4 pieces of cucumbers. I called they did refund me my money on the pizza as we were only here for the night. They at least try to offer another pizza they were very nice to try to make things right. Called in and ordered 2 fish sandwiches. What I exactly said, " I want to order 2 fish…read moresandwiches, 1 with ketchup and cheese and the other one plain. I don't know how to make that anyway clearer. And not like that was the first time I have made that exact same order. Well after I got home from picking it up and took a pain pill. Notice that the plain one was wrong. It had cheese and tarter sauce on it. The other one said plus ketchup so I just assumed that one telling us which on was which. So my friend who paid for them after I ordered them called up once to let them know the order was wrong. She don't drive and I had just taken a narcotic for my neck so I was unable to go back up. She hates anyone one her sandwich so that was a waste. Then I went to open mine up after pill kicked in couple minutes later and my ketchup and cheese only had tarter sauce. Which would not mean much to people but I had stomach surgery and mayo with cheese and grease at once would have given dumping syndrome. I couldn't even wipe it off them sandwiches was so mess. So told her to call back and tell them both was wrong. Know my mom has been in Restaurant business for of 42 years. That if I didn't they would have said you should have told us that when it happened. I them got a phone call little over 1 hour later telling me that I could only get 30% off my order because I ordered wrong. I didn't by no means I. English order wrong. She said unless I specify I don't want what comes on them. The stuff still comes on. Well I have been ordering there since they open. And they have messed up NUMEROUS of our orders. And have in past given us 2 gift cards for mistakes they did for not putting it in computer right. And she goes to proceed to tell me they never give out gift receipts or refunds. That there was strike 2. I did specify what I wanted. I didn't say I want on it cheese ketchup and what you put on it. And a plain fish and what you put on it. But somewhere I. The owners mind. She says I ordered wrong. She is nuts. And yes I was I severe pain had to wait 25 min and longer because when I went to pick them up her husband and the young girl that works there was In the back somewhere so never heard me come in waiting seems like forever before she came out. They was dead. And she said she didn't know I was out there because the door buzzard didn't work. Personally I don't leave the front of our family business open unattended but to each there own. Well when she rudely hung up on me when I told her I didn't order wrong I couldn't have made it any clearer. And the voice mail she left me. I was at this point very mad. Then said on phone she didn't appreciate us harassing her staff all day. Omg I said what are u talking about. You clearly urself messed up a order I have paid for. Then won't fox it. First thing no matter what my mom taught me. Even if wrong costumer is always right. But in the case I am 100%. I didn't know calling and letting them know the order was wrong was considered harassment. So me myself I am taking that as Defamation of Character. This all was between 12:14 I ordered. Got food at 1:15? Open food between 215 and 2:20. Called about both being wrong that was it. On and off phone. And will be taking both phone records along with having her the last years log book for gift recipes he requested by the JP. And her husband and worker that day there as well. They didn't realize when talked to her worker on the phone to speaking to her for her husband another conflict of lie came up. So I am requesting video of that day too and if she don't. Well will not really not help her case. I am taking her to court. It is not over the dam 18.00. Like I said I am not new in Restaurant area. She lies about no refunds or gift certificates. And the judge well there is no other way of say what I wanted. This is on principal now. You don't treat someone that way that paid for service off you. You do the order wrong yell at them and blame them for harassing their staff and then hang up on them. The. I had to take 2 Ativan I was so damn upset for being lied about. No more. Since rudely hung up texted her she u in court. It is the principal of the matter. You mess up you don't take it out in the costumer. I am taking her for price of food got receipt. Defamation of Character 200.00 could go more. But think they proves a point and believe the other lady is filing that too. And 300.00 my emotional distress. Had noting to eat couldn't drive back to exchange because of narcotics and told her that. And she hung up on me! Told her I will see her in court So I know what I am doing today after couple hrs of sleep!

What a trip down memory lane with this one. It has been years since I have been to a Ponderosa…read moreSteak House. Actually over a decade. Since their numbers started dwindling and locations closing up for good, this looked like a brand that was going to be a forgotten brand. But there are a few that are still hanging in there. This location, I believe, is the last in Pennsylvania. To touch on memory lane again, this place holds a special place in the hearts of kids of the 80s and 90s. You all know what I mean. For those that don't, let me clue you in. If you happened to have perfect attendance for a grading period you would be awarded with a certificate that would allow you to enjoy the buffet at any Ponderosa location. It was the only good thing that came out of attending school when you were bored. You'd get to drown your sorrows in mashed potatoes and gravy because you were able to last every single day of school for that grading period. My brother and I were talking about stuffing our faces with countless rolls, wing dings, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, etc. My whole plan for finishing my Christmas shopping at the outlets all hinged on us coming here for our meal. I clued him into to it and he was on board. Pulling up outside was like our White Castle moment. We made it to the promised land. The familiar looking building welcomed us right inside. We walked down the hallway that leads you to the counter and stopped at the menu on the wall for a minute. Who were we kidding looking over the menu when we already knew we were going to be getting the buffet. Placed our order with the staff at the register, about $16 for the buffet and water to drink. I wasn't going to be a fool and get a soda or tea and fill up with the bubbly in my tummy. When we were led to our table the memories kept coming back. That green carpeting, the wood grain everywhere, and the islands of buffets. We were sat nearly in the middle of the restaurant and our server took our receipts for our drinks and we were let free to attack the buffet. That is after I wrestled with my chair to get it to come out of from under the table. This was quite possibly the worst part about this place. The chairs were heavy, pair that with the carpeting being like Velcro made for moving the chairs really hard. So much so that the lady behind me actually tumbled with the chair trying to get up at one point. (Hope she's OK and nothing was hurt but her pride) The buffet had a mix of items that encompass the chain(s). There were the familiar wings, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, stuffing, gravy, and so on from Ponderosa. But there were a few things spattered in from the Bonanza portion of this chain, Most notably, the BBQ meatballs. After spying everything the buffet had to offer I of course started with a salad. Topping it with just about everything under the sun and drowning it in dressing. I sped through the salad as I wanted to get to the hot food which would lead me to dessert. My brother and I were plate for plate at this point and we both went up for the hot food. We also both came back with two plates to cut back on the trips we were going to make. When I tell you that we sat there and gorged in silence, I'm not joking. Not a single word came out of our mouths as we sat there and just shoveled the food into our mouths. I honestly don't know how I managed to finish off four plates of hot food, but I did. Maybe it was the nostalgia of it all. I rallied and made my way to the dessert portion of the buffet for one final plate...or bowl. I grabbed a soup bowl and decided I was going to make a proper sundae my way here. Put some cookie on the bottom, hit it with the ice cream, and topped it with a ton of toppings. When all was said and done, I was bloated and filled to the brim. I have no idea why I went so hard here, but the discomfort I was going to feel for the next hour was well worth it. I wobbled a bit out the door, but left satisfied. Was it the best meal that we could have come across? Probably not. But did we enjoy it? Heck yeah, my brother and I reminisced the whole rest of the day about our trips here when we were younger. There aren't many buffets like this left out there, so you got to enjoy this place while the doors are still open.

I'm not a picky eater, but todays experience was borderline inedible. The wings have been replaced with bone dry overcooked bar wings. The Mac was congealed as I was the first customer of the day. I go to hoss's montly and it's 50x more quality from the salad bar toppings to the sides to the flavor of their beef tips. It's sad as I used to love this place growing up.
