My flashback to the '80s fell a little short with the absence of coin operated video games and a jukebox. The pizza was as I remembered. I was the only customer seated in the restaurant at 6:30 on a Wednesday night. Though there was a steady stream of to-go orders and deliveries, I expected to get great service. The server didn't return to refill my tea glass, and that's a giant pet peeve of mine. It's a simple task and fundamental food service. The pizza was exactly as it should be. I ordered the Super Supreme Medium Pizza and I couldn't have expected better. The ambiance is a slightly modern interpretation of the 1980s Pizza Hut we all know and remember, absent two very important details. Missing was the coin operated video games with their constant background tunes, and no jukebox. Otherwise, my trip down memory lane would have been complete. Overall, my experience was fine, but they didn't earn my recommendation. read more

Food was good but the service was horrible, we sat for over an hour for food, we didn't get what we wanted. There was a young man, that tried to help but was not trained properly. He spilled ice all over the table and left it to melt and drip on the floor, there were dirty tables all over that had not been cleaned. It could be a good place, it needs new management read more

Stopped here for an order of wings and fries while on a long road trip. Took 45 minutes for the order to be prepared, with basically no other clientele present. Girl that was working June 20 around 430 at the cash register must be new cause how you gonna get pulled pork confused with sausage?? Called about the options over the phone prior to pick up and she said they had it. Got there and tried to gaslight saying that sausage on the pizza was pulled pork only for the actual maker of the pizza say noooo that's sausage not pulled pork. Make it make sense... order would've been changed and would've been happy if you knew what yall actually served rather than just put anything close read more

Would give negative 100 starts if possible. "Nancy" the manager likes to yell at customers when they nicely ask for separate boxes for cinnastix and garlic bread (they were shoved into the same box touching each other, she also never gave us the dipping sauce we asked for). Because of an allergy. Then continues to shove her employees out of the way of the register, to give a refund she almost refused to give, the refused to give me my receipt to make a report (which I did anyway) also. She then continued to loudly talk bad about me as I was walking out so I obviously turned back and said talking shit on customers gets you no where I'll be reporting you, then she FOLLOWED ME OUTSIDE TO MY CAR where my child was. To try to fight me. Then had a massive man charge at me while calling me a meth had as she's literally tweaking. I contacted support obviously, but she seems to think she holds the power because she's a "manager". Don't recommend. This will be going on every social media platform until she is fired due to her actions. Also start drug testing employees because WHAT??!?? read more

We ordered through Door Dash. After waiting for over an hour, we tried to call Pizza Hut and got the hand off to the call center and than back to the call center. That didn't work so we called Door Dash. They told us that after two hours, they were still looking for a Dasher. We cancelled our order and than our membership with Door Dash! The manager of the Clayton pizza hut needs to learn how to step up and make the delivery happen, even if they have to do it themselves. A perfect example of poor leadership! read more

Have not eaten at a Pizza Hut in years but this was the only restaurant that was within walking distance from the Eklund Hotel in Clayton, New Mexico. The hand tossed was new since my last visit 20 years ago so we ordered it on a pepperoni pizza. It was delicious! We were the only inside customers, and the young lady that waited on us was quite personable. I will have no hesitation of eating here again on future trips! read more

We LOVE Pizza Hut. Especially the Supremo sandwiches. We rolled into town, checked into our motel and didn't see a surplus of restaurants but Pizza Hut was close so that was our choice. There was one large party of 10-12 and 2 other booths. So not overly busy. There was a lot of chaos behind the register so no one could be bothered to tell us whether to wait or seat ourselves. I tried to get someone's attention to make sure this location even made the sandwiches. I know not all do. We finally gave up and seated ourselves and still 20 minutes later we had not been waited on. The one very busy waitress was bussing tables and waiting on the other customers. When she finally came to our table I quickly asked if they served sandwiches. It was not hard at all to walk out the door still hungry when she told us no. There were probably 4 or 5 other employees behind the cash register working very hard but NO ONE took the time to acknowledge us. I agree with Chuck J. A perfect example of poor leadership. No one was willing to step up. We went to the grocery store across the street. BAH. read more

I'd give zero stars if I could. They never get ur order correct. Deliver it to the wrong address, when they deliver it at all. The food is prepared wrong, it doesn't look appetizing, and it's usually under or over cooked. U can never get in contact with the restaurant because the call catcher they don't have says they're closed, even when they're open. They turn the website off if they don't feel like doin deliveries, and the manager is so unprofessional if u go up there to inquire about an order, or complain she will straight up trespass u from the store, and regularly chews out her employees in front of everyone in the restaurant. It makes for a very uncomfortable dining experience. With her yelling and cussing, I def wouldn't take young kids in there. And then there's the constant closing by the health dept, due to carbon monoxide, or lack of hot water. So def eat at ur own risk. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. We ordered 2 pizzas on line and my wife went to pick them up. One was supposed to be a pepperoni lovers. When we opened the box it was just cheese. My wife called and talked to santos. She told him what happened and he claimed we ordered a pepperoni lovers pizza with no pepperoni. Huh????? She asked them to make one and we would bring the cheese pizza back. He flat out refused. She asked to talk to the manager and he claimed he was the manager. He even had the nerve to tell her "you can come down here and we'll talk about it like young adults" We paid $32.00 for two pizzas one of which was made wrong. We will never buy a pizza from them again. And we are telling EVERYBODY about our experience! read more

When asked if they could handle the amount of people which was 40. We asked because we didn't want to be those people. They said "yes, have a seat, it won't be a problem". BOY DID WE!! We sat and sat and waited for them to bring out one pizza at a time. We had been traveling since 6:30AM and we got there around 11:30AM. Apparently the salad bar is not part of the buffet. Literally waiting around the pizza bar for them to come out with thin crust pizza enough for possibly 3 people. Cut into half slices. Horrible service and rude staff overall. Sunday Jan 31, 2016. 1st and foremost, shame on me for not referencing yelp reviews before eating here. That will NOT happen again! Secondly, when I first sat down at the table and my hands stuck to it that should've been a clue. I moved to a different table as I was the only customer at 5 o'clock on a Sunday. 2nd clue! I'm not going to go into a long drawn out review, there's only I believe 7 for this place total and they all stink... I believe there's one 3 star review. I don't expect Pizza Hut to be getting 4 and 5 star reviews but wow, this place is complete garbage! I never imagined I would give any place a 1 star review, but here it is. If I could give it a -1 rating I would! Btw, there was nothing else open restaurant wise along Highway 87 in Clayton except for the Dairy Queen. In hindsight, It probably would've been much much better. read more

Can I give it a half star? We should have left when we went to sit down and several tables were dirty but there's not much in town. The service is s....l.....o....w..... As we were waiting, I started reading previous reviews with similar comments. As I read the review were a customer was told they ran out of dough and couldn't complete the order, the waitress came to the table that sat down after us and said they ran out of dough! How does that happen?!? Our order got messed up taking at least another 15 minutes. My recommendation, stop by the gas station, grab a bag of chips and a soda to hold you over to the next stop! read more

UPDATE: I contacted Pizza Hut customer service, and got a canned reply that a member of the management team for this store would contact me in three days. 15 days later, I have not been contacted. This tells me that the poor service in this store starts at the top, and that even the corporate office doesn't give a f@#k about customers in Clayton. They are happy to take our money, but will not provide good service or quality food. I will not eat at the Clayton Pizza Hut again anytime soon. It would probably just be better if they close this location before they kill somebody with their poor food service cleanliness practices. There are far better options in Clayton, and If I want pizza, I guess it will have to be Digiorno. Our order was made online at 7:15 pm. I arrived at the store to pick it up shortly before 8 pm. I was told that they were remaking our order because they were having issues while pointing to our badly burnt pizza. Stella who is apparently the manager said something to another employee about not charging for my order. I waited while they remade our order. The restaurant was in chaos and dirty. Stella had to repeatedly tell other employees to go take orders from dine in customers. There was absolutely no organization to the order tickets. There were dine in customers coming up and asking me if they were supposed to order at the counter. I watched at least six people walk out without ordering. The restaurant was not crowded. I got my order and was charged full price. When I got home an hour and 15 minutes after the order was placed, my wife was looking at the order, and it was incorrect. Wings were not there, and we had an extra pizza. The pizza we ordered was not the bacon cheese stuffed crust, though we were charged for it. My wife called, and Stella said there was nothing she could do about it tonight, and asked if she could fix it tomorrow. My wife told her we had company and that was our dinner. When my wife asked her about the pizza crust, Stella said they were out of the crust, so they substituted the crust and charged us for the other. We finally worked it out to get our wings and and two of the Hershey's desserts. When I arrived back at the restaurant to pick up the additional items, I had to wait about five minutes for the desserts to finish cooking. I got the desserts, my order of wings, and an extra order of wings. The wings had been sitting at least an hour under the warmer. This store had been working on fixing its reputation, and my previous experience had been average. Tonight was a horrible experience. read more

Pizza Hut - Open packs of pizza boxes on the floor in the dining area. - Pizza Near Me - Clayton, New Mexico

Two stars because I felt bad for the manager. She was waiting on tables, checking out customers, bussing the dining room and just about everything else. There was a teenage kid cooking pizzas and another employee showed up as we were leaving. Understaffed and she was still pleasant considering the situation. Pizza was ok but not great. The restaurant has not been updated since 1982, as was pointed out by my 10 year old with his fascination of advertising and branding. I get it's a small town but the highway is heavily travelled and the businesses potential is unlimited. They need to get the manager some help so she is not doing everything herself. read more

We went in at 11:30. There are no posted hours for the lunch buffet, so it's possible they don't start until 12 noon, so I won't ding them on that. But this is a Pizza Hut that has been working to repair its reputation, so I will focus on that primarily. First, the good: the salad bar has been back for awhile, but I know when it is gone it is a constant complaint. The salad bar was clean and well stocked. The pizzas on the buffet had a decent selection and variety of toppings. Then, the bad: There's not a lot of attention to detail in cleanliness, which should be a very important thing for a restaurant looking to repair its reputation. The carpet is in bad need of shampooing, but the manager has been trying to address that, but shampooing doesn't solve the problem of small paper and food scraps in the carpet and on the tables. The tables did not look as if they had been properly cleaned. This was when they had first opened up, so it wasn't because of an overly busy day. To make matters worse, staff members were talking openly about someone who came into the restaurant, not a good idea when people can see and hear into the kitchen. Now the ugly: Most of the experience was good. Not great, but not atypical of small towns either. However, if small towns want to aspire for excellence, they really need to give attention to the overall dining experience. I ordered water. It was refilled exactly once, and that was when the waitress bought us our check. There were not many patrons in the restaurant, but the waitress did not arrive quickly with silverware and drink orders. The men's bathroom had not been swept the night before, the garbage was full, and there were no paper towels in the dispenser. This makes me wonder if the male employees the night before were washing their hands, as they would have had to notice the lack of paper towels if they were. Another patron noticed the plates set out for the buffet were all dirty. Everyone; they had to bring out more. Again, this reflects more on the night shift, but if you manage, you manage the whole restaurant, not just one shift. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and assume the buffet doesn't technically open until noon, but even at noon they weren't ready, despite having customers who had been dining since 11:45. The pasta was not set out, the marinara was not set out, and even the breadsticks only came out very shortly prior. Sad to say, this was not a "wow" experience. This could have been done better, and would have, if there was a serious desire to see this restaurant excel. I am giving three stars noting that it is a generous three stars, and considering the effort they are putting in. There is still, however, much to be done. read more

There is a 100% chance your order will be wrong. I understand the location is in the middle of nowhere but they were horrendous

Our experience at the Clayton Pizza Hut is the reason why I downloaded Yelp to make sure we don't waste our money again. Dirty bathrooms and the overall feel of the restaurant was unclean. Pepperoni pizza at buffet was out and when I went to ask the staff if they could restock it..i had to wait til the staff was done texting on her phone before I could make My request. My kids didn't touch their food (couldn't blame them!). Pizza didn't taste that great. Very slow to restock pizza and there were only 2 other tables besides ours that were seated. There arent many places to eat in Clayton so I just recommend driving on through to another town. read more

Go hungry before you gamble going in this restaurant. Poor poor management leads to poor poor customer service. Plenty of employees but NO ONE cares to help... just going through the motions. I had to ask our waitress for plates, napkins, silverware., our water (3 times), salad for the salad bar. ranch, cheese, and our bill. Took us 45 minutes to eat a pizza (I called in 20 minutes early) and 5 salads. Our waitress NEVER, and I mean NEVER, said 1 word to us. Place was a GIANT mess and bathroom out of order. Wildly incompetent and understaffed. Booths and floors were dirty. Hasn't been updated since the 80's. Crazy long wait time and they still almost burned my pizza and....got the toppings wrong. We were traveling from ski vacation and made the terrible mistake of stopping at this restaurant. We stopped for wings...got there at 7:25 pm...the salad bar was broke down. We've been driving all day. Ordered online. Supposed to be ready in 15 minutes. Got there about 2 minutes early. Waited for at least 20 minutes. That's ok. Get the pizza. Head back to the room. Apparently the order is wrong. Wrong crust. A missing topping. Why didn't they tell me at the store? Worst Pizza Hut experience ever! Traveling through town on a Sunday, we stopped at noon to eat at the buffet. There were only three people working, one woman (bless her) was serving the dining room and she was friendly enough, but this store had only half of their advertised drinks available and she had to explain to each customer that, no, their preferred beverage was not available. The buffet was mostly empty. Once the pasta and breadsticks ran out, they remained empty for the remainder of our visit. The few pizzas that came out were all meat, not a problem for me but other members of my party do not eat meat. We had to request a vegetable pizza and then wait for it to come out. Paper plates at the buffet line, unusual! Plastic wrapped "to-go" cutlery, also unusual. We had to specifically request napkins?? We were given grocery store napkins?? The only dessert pizza served was a cherry strudel pizza that NO ONE ate. It was out when we arrived and 40 minutes later it was out and still untouched. While we were eating, an employee approached our table and asked if we had change to break a $100 bill! Regardless of whether or not we could, we told her NO and she went back to the cash register. There were probably 8 other groups dining and she only approached our table. What?? Avoid this Pizza Hut location. read more
