WORST pizza I've ever had! Yes, even Little Caesar's is better! $40 of crap with a rubber crust & barely any toppings!

Pizza and more. Ordering online is so easy and the notifications timely. Lots of specials. Always a friendly face at the location I do takeout.

Bad lettuce on a taco pizza

They sent out a pizza with spoiled lettuce on it (see picture). It's not just ugly and wilted lettuce -- you can taste and smell that it expired. I guess I should be grateful that even though I ordered extra lettuce, I didn't receive it, much like the two other toppings that are supposed to be on the pizza but aren't. And, once again, they didn't send sauce with the appetizer. With this place, it's a 1/10 chance that you'll get the sauce with your appetizer. Pizza Guys appears to be no longer worth the money.

I've always lived close to a Pizza Guys but have apparently been sleeping in them for quite sometime! I get coupons in the mail from them all the time, and decided to give them a try on a week when I didn't have much left in my fridge but didn't really want to go grocery shopping - so I ordered some pizza instead! First off, their online ordering system is super easy. You can schedule your order in advance or pick it up immediately. I've ordered for immediate pick up twice and had my pizzas finished even earlier than the quoted time. Talk about good service! This location has a variety of cool flavors - curry pizza, beef taco pizza, chipotle chicken pizza, etc. The chipotle chicken pizza and serrano chili pizza were both awesome, delivering a combination of spiciness and crunch that I would definitely order again. I had no idea they were doing this, but I was also offered a free ice cream item or two liter with each order I made. An added bonus! Staff was super nice, my pizza was ready on time, and it felt great getting a little extra to be home. Talk about above and beyond. The pizza is great warm and just as good cold, and a large can last an adult a couple days, if you can fight back the urge to eat it all at once. Pro tip: reheat slices in your air fryer, if you've got one. In a few short minutes, you'll be back to crunchy crust and melted cheese. Thank me later!

I've had two mediocre experiences with Pizza Guys over the years. Neither was particularly offensive, but both reminded me that there are many other pizza options out there that I find better. It all comes down to the pizza and the service. On my latest visit I ordered a pizza that was slightly doughy and undercooked. If I had been eating it in shop I probably would have requested they throw it back in the oven. The flavors were there but the product was just not that great. This comes after a previous visit some years back where they gave me the wrong order completely, even though they were apologetic. I like Pizza Guys pizza in general and I have enjoyed other locations, so I will give this one another try down the line.

Apparently this is a California Garlic Chicken

Ordered from this location several times and something is always wrong or they forget something. Most recently I ordered a California Garlic Chicken pizza and half the ingredients were not on it. Not sure how you can mess this up.

I asked for a little crispy and extra sauce not burnt.
Chris H.

They delivered a burnt pizza and forgot all my sauces for the appetizer I order. They don't even apologize for the mess up.. This was the second time I had food delivered by them. for me to have to go drive to their location is super inconvenient. I will not waste my time and money again here.

No pepperoni on a pepperoni pizza! Fail!

The food, the ambiance, the amazing service.. read on to learn why your next meal should be here! FOOD If you're not drooling at the food pics, I'll forgive you, but you better get to the restaurant to try the food in person. Everything was SO flavorful, cooked to perfection, and plated in the most appealing way. With the hearty and filling portions, it's a surprise they didn't have to roll us out of there. Kids eat free on Sundays till 5pm, and the 6 kiddos we had with us had full bellies and lunch for school the next day. I'm not Italian but I have picky taste buds and yowzers! I'm still dreaming about this meal (from 4 days ago). The pasta was so fresh and cooked perfectly. The pizza crust was flavorful and supported the *mountain* of toppings (can I get an amen on that?!). Authentic, fresh, and absolutely delicious! SERVICE Nickolas was our server and not only did he go above and beyond to make our dining experience superb, he was friendly, and kind, and despite being busy for dinner service he made us feel like we were the only ones in the restaurant. From the moment we walked into the restaurant to when we left, he truly elevated our dining experience. AMBIANCE There's a beautiful mural painted inside that just transports you to Italy. The decor is so cute and just makes you feel like you're walking into Nonna's house. MISC Tons of parking available in the free lot. LOTS of options for vegetarians, meat eaters, and the pickiest of eaters. We were a huge party, and they accommodated us with no problems. I also love how involved they are in the community -- their willingness to give back to local schools and churches through fundraising is outstanding. They really check every box, y'all! If you have taste buds, you're not going to want to miss out on the fabulous food they're cooking up here! 12/10 all around, and cannot wait to come back to try something new!

I was craving the eggplant parmigiana and was told the eggplants had been delivered to the owners home and therefore, was not available. Funny! So we settled on the shrimp and chicken dish - apparently a fan favorite- and chopped salad. Both delicious with ample portions for two to split. Interesting note - they offer cauliflower crust pizza- a must try next time. Enjoy!

The only thing was the chimichurri type sauce was pretty spicy (not mild). So definitely beware. I also tried a bite of my husband's bolognese and it was light and refreshing. The flavor of the vegetables come through nicely along with the meat sauce. It feels ironic to say, but if you want something lighter, that's a good option. Would recommend making a reservation, as the restaurant space is small and definitely filled up on a Sunday evening.

Everything was fantastic, from the food and service to the wonderful Italian atmosphere. We had a table reservation but decided to sit at the bar instead, and I'm so glad we did! We received our bread and appetizer, but then we waited...and waited. As the restaurant filled up, we watched table after table receive their meals, eat, and leave while we still had no entrées. The couple next to us arrived about 20 minutes after we did, received their food, sent it back because it wasn't good, got replacement meals, and still finished before we were ever served. Each time we asked about our food, we were simply told, "It's coming," while the staff avoided eye contact. After more than an hour, our food was finally brought out by the owner's son. His explanation was that our steak took a long time to cook. That's simply not believable. A steak doesn't take over an hour to prepare, especially when every other table around us had already been served. I would have respected an honest explanation far more than an obvious excuse. To make matters worse, the steak was thin, overcooked, chewy, and cold by the time it reached the table. The quality was nowhere near what we've come to expect from this restaurant. I told the owner's son that I was more upset about the dishonest explanation than the delayed food. We've been loyal customers and planned to keep coming back, but honesty and accountability matter. Instead of acknowledging what happened, the owner came out, pointed his finger in my face, and became defensive because I called out the excuse his son gave. Rather than apologizing or trying to make the situation right, he escalated it into an unnecessary confrontation. Everyone makes mistakes. Kitchens get backed up. Orders get lost. Customers are generally understanding when businesses are honest and take responsibility. What I can't overlook is being misled and then treated disrespectfully when I questioned it. Unfortunately, this was the worst dining experience we've ever had here, and unless the owners learn how to handle problems with honesty and professionalism, I can't recommend this restaurant.

The experience felt like classic Italian dining. They had old school Italian music playing throughout the restaurant. The outside of the building is very modest. You wouldn't suspect this place has some of the best Italian food in the Sacramento area. We didn't make reservations (next time we will) but luckily came just after opening, which is 5pm, and got a table in the bar area. For a Saturday the crowd was light but as the night went on more and more people filled the place up. The bar itself was lively and lots of lemon drops were being ordered as well as wine by the glasses. Lemon drops seem to be their specialty and next time I'll be having one. Our server Katie was very busy yet never neglected my lady and I. She kept us on top of her mind constantly seeing if we needed anything. We got the Italian wedding soup. Once we heard it as the soup of the day our eyes lit up and we had to try it. Absolutely delicious! It's very popular with Katie telling us people call to ask if it's being served. Will definitely be doing the same because I want more. The bread basket came with focaccia and the long bread sticks which you don't see much anymore. Loved this dish. Not complimentary so be sure to order it from the appetizer menu. I went with the 3 cheese ravioli. A grown man ravioli you won't find many places. The sauce was light but deep with flavor. The mushrooms were perfect. Using the bread to soak up the juices was heaven on earth. The raviolis were delicious. This was a vegetarian dish yet I didn't even care! My fiancee got the lasagna. Everyone who told us about Mattone said to try it. The lady who sat us mentioned it when sitting us down too, so expectations were high. After having it my lady said it was the best lasagna she's ever had! It melted in your mouth. The noodles just dissolve away. The meat and sauce is really good. And the serving is huge. Ended the meal with coffee and we couldn't stop glowing about the meal we just had. We are already planning to return for a birthday coming up. Katie took great care of us boxing our leftovers and even surprising us with some soup to take home. Impeccable dinner. Can't wait to return.

Crazy I say this as I was in a serious relationship once with an Italian lol. I know I sound like a miserable wretched human being, but its quite ubiquitous and a lot of it is not too hard to make. But I do like a good pizza and there are Italian dishes I like (ones I cannot make like Sardinian wild boar or squid ink pasta). First, this dining room is gorgeous, the bar space is really nice. Saw a handsome gent in a nice suit sitting at the bar, which was a nice accessory to an already elegant and dare I say sexy bar? I had a drink here and then our party moved to a table when everyone arrived. My colleague did us the favor and ordered some antipasti dishes for us and made good choices. The carpaccio was great (and I loved the grana padano cheese - one that I can have) and also enjoyed the tartara di tonno - which is seared ahi tuna. Both with copious amounts of arugula (my favorite). Great choices as I love raw anything that's well made. Since it was Tuesday, one of my colleagues ordered the pasta trio which is a special for Tuesdays. No idea if it was any good, but colleague cleaned the plate. My other colleague ordered the risotto (which looked great and I love risotto and can make it myself), large portion size and she had a good portion leftover for another meal. I had the branzino in crosta. The portion size for my dish was ridiculous. Fish was decent, but I have had better (in Italy fresh caught). Rooted veggies were probably my favorite (I'm a rabbit and love veggies) and the grilled polenta was so-so. My colleagues ordered panna cotta al limone and it was excellent. I am used to a denser consistency panna cotta and this one was lighter one but well made. I love limoncello or anything with lemons, so this was just lovely. There is only one kind of tiramisu (more pudding style) I like which is made by North Italia and the one here likely was the traditional tiramisu so I declined to get dessert. Overall, a very good choice for a business dinner. Food was good. I deducted one star because I am not much into chain restaurants and prefer to support mom and pop type places. I deducted another star because the service was so SLOW and while we ordered some sparkling for the table, some of us did not get still water and I recall not having much water to drink and its summer. Also, I think the New Yorker in me just doesnt have much patience, but it does seem the cadence here was a different speed I am used to. I'd definitely return to have a few cocktails at the bar, and come back for their HH specials too. This location is in a beautiful setting and I'd come back just to sit at the bar and quietly ogle which cutie might show up...
