Yes there were 16 of us so it is a lot to ask, but we offered to sit on separate tables and keep in our groups. "No" we were told. "What if we just turned up?" "We will turn you all away". So called a couple of other spots and finally called Swiss Chalet, we're told "Yes we would love to have you!" 15 minutes later we were sitting on a huge table, all 16 of us! Been years since we had been to Swiss Chalet and I had forgotten how good it was, service was excellent and so was the food and drinks. We were blown away by the prices too. We returned to try again and use our coupon. After a long wait for our food and than to have some of our meal unedible we were unhappy with the outcome. We did not eat all the food . Unfortunately, sometimes we need to know when it's time to accept that this is not the restaurant for you, and maybe you would be happier going elsewhere. My job is to ensure guests are happy when they leave, and I truly believed you were happy when you left, maybe I misjudged. They also serve full pizzas but don't always have the full menu by the slice. It's located in a great new commercial strip on Duke, nicely decorated with a modern funky look. Service is good, perhaps a bit pre-occupied, but I get it, new business. With sparkling water and tip my order was $20, which is a lot for lunch. But on the other hand one slice would have been enough and the lemon water is free, so my bad. So glad to have a great new option for eating out.

Add to this that I was overcharged two of the three times, and the staff on all three visits were clearly unhappy that they were working, because they didn't smile or use any type of customer service skills they may possess. In fact, they were pretty sullen and even rude. Not even a "thanks for the support", even though I overtipped on two visits, because I know a lot of restaurants are struggling to stay afloat. Oh, and no masks worn by staff, no evidence of sanitizing between customers, and the signage they used to have up about requiring masks, etc are all gone.
