Good pizza! Pizza is really important to me, I take it seriously. NY'er, lived in Brooklyn, etc. etc. Read my other Yelp reviews if you want to judge my Pizza cred. This is very good. Razor thin, tasty crust, nice sauce. A little floppier than I usually like, and a little heavy on the cheese. That's just a matter of preference. Bonus points for having fountain drinks -- a must at a pizza place. Compared to the other good spots in town, this place has one thing they don't--a legit pizza joint atmosphere. Many spots try to create a NY vibe with pictures of taxi cabs and Marylin Monroe (for some reason). This place feels like it was picked up and hauled here on a truck from Syosset. These are obviously New Yorkers. The Cleveland Indians sign in the window is just a ploy to lure in midwesterners--I'd bet money the owners are from Farmingdale or Woodside or something...

I LOVE YOU GUYS I love your pizza and your garlic knots, the taste of it lives in the back of my mind

Two slice special. The photo doesnt do it justice. Literally hits the spot every time.

Updated from my first visit two yrs ago (was still 5 star). Pizza D-Lux is now a must have every time I land and depart Ft Myers airport. Im not sure how they are doing slices better than the pizzerias in NY that have "NY water". The 2 slice special is the best pizza ive had in years, only exception would be a couple places in NYC. So thin, so foldable, the best crust. Its literally the thin pizza I grew up on that no one seems to make right anymore. The ambiance of the restaurant makes me feel like I went back in time to the pizzeria around the corner from where I grew up. Staff is always friendly. These guys are the best. Dont fall for other places that need to put "New York" in their name to draw you in only to fall short of the expectations.

Two slices & a fountain drink $7.99. Best lunch deal on Daniels Parkway.

Pizza D is the real deal. I feel like I'm back home on Flatbush Ave -- it's just good classic New York street slice pizza. Two slices and a fountain drink, $7.99.

    Two slice special.

The pizza was excellent great crust, quality toppings, the kind of pie that reminds you why you came here in the first place. And the Tribute? Smooth, easy drinking, perfect pairing for a pizza night done right. Service was solid, no complaints there. Friendly, attentive, got the job done. But. That pizza took its sweet time coming out. We're not talking a little wait we're talking enough time to really get acquainted with that bottle of wine. Look, good pizza takes time, I get it. But when you're hungry and staring at an empty table, every minute feels like ten. And then there's the thing I can't unsee. Watched one of the staff folding pizza boxes, and she dropped one on the floor. Picked it up. Folded it. Put it right back in the stack like nothing happened. Now, maybe that box never holds anyone's pizza. Maybe it gets tossed later. But from where I was sitting? Suspect. That's the kind of thing that sticks with you. The Verdict: The Don pizza is excellent, the wine selection is on point, and the service is perfectly fine. But the long wait and that questionable box situation keep this one at four stars. Grimaldi's, we love your pizza just tighten up the details.

That said--Downtown House of Pizza in Fort Myers absolutely crushed it. I do my own version of "One bite, everyone knows the rules!" and let me tell you... this pizza passes with flying colors. Perfect crust, great balance of sauce and cheese, and that fold? Legit. This is the kind of slice that makes you stop talking mid-bite. For a Florida pizza, this would honestly knock Dave Portnoy off his feet. If you didn't tell me where I was, I'd believe this place could hold its own back home in NYC. Funny enough, our Airbnb host put together a local guide for us and she also recommended Downtown House of Pizza. Plus, they've been in business for 20 years, so we figured it must be good. I ordered a 16" NY style pie with pepperoni and hot honey sausage -- Wow, it was so dang delicious! A little sweet and a little spicy, just the way I like it. Delivery was quick and the staff member who delivered it was so nice. The slices were large and we had plenty left over for the next day. I may or may not have eaten pizza for breakfast. Glad we listened to the locals and tried this place while we were in town!

They have cute pics on the wall. We enjoyed the atmosphere. It was not busy at 5:00 pm on the Saturday after Christmas. However, our server Emily said they had a large lunch rush and that they have been steadily busy since opening July 2025. We also love wings, so we ordered 10 lightly tossed with hot sauce. Like other reviews, I can confirm that the wings are large, juicy and meaty. The hot sauce wasn't terribly hot and had a bit of a sweet taste to it. The accompanying ranch dressing tasted home made. Our pizza was a meat lovers with extra cheese. Toppings included Sausage, Pepperoni and Bacon. It was very meaty. But, the best part of this thin crust pizza is that their crust is crispy, which we love after living in St. Louis for many years. In fact, if they used provel cheese vs mozzarella, it could stand in for a St, Louis style pizza. Very tasty, we loved it. Emily was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. We met the owner who is the cook and she was also very friendly. We loved the signed bills on the wall, so we added one of our own. We will look for it during our next visit.
