Loverboy
Lauren S.

We've been here a few times now and really like the honey boo boo and decided to try a new pizza. We had the loverboy which seemed to have all the things we were looking for, fresh mozzarella, a meat component, ricotta, and caramelized onions. The pizza came straight outta the wood fired oven to our table. Very thin crust, with slight chew. We were a bit disappointed in the lack of flavor. We had a hard time pinpointing the issue, but we think the sliced meatballs were bland, and the pie needed more salt and maybe garlic? Back to the honey boo boo next time for sure. Very dark, no frills, hipster vibe going on inside. Service is usual pretty good.

My friend Chris and I yesterday wanted to check it out. It was about a short walk from the Moxy resort that we were staying at. My friend Chris got a small personal pizza for $20. They offer wine, beer, and seasonal beers. I didn't get any food. Very small inside, very mom n pop ish. The men in the restaurant make pizza by hand; ie tossing it and hand pulling the dough. If this is your vibe it's a must do!! The gentleman telling us about the menu was nice and informative. He was the only one that helped us out. 10/10 Really good pizza!!

We came on a Friday night and there's 2-hour street parking all around, which we got lucky and snagged a spot immediately. I'll be completely honest, I REALLY wanted to like this place based off all of the good reviews, but it just didn't do it for me. The pizzas didn't have much flavor surprisingly considering how many toppings there were. The pizzas are well-done, which might not be everyone's style. The griffy sticks didn't taste like garlic bread at all, it was thin with little dough, and the marinara was kind of sweet. We got griffy sticks, the lover boy, and half Malibu / half honey boo boo. I will say I LOVE how you can split whatever pizzas even if they were made with different bases. I've never been to a place that does that, so that's a BIG plus!! I recommend the lover boy of the 3 pizzas we tried.

Another 5 star visit for best in town thin crust pizza and salads dive. We find the plastic utensils and paper dishes part of the charm. It is amusing to find a table with chairs high enough so we don't feel like our chins are too close to the table! Service is always friendly, accommodating, and prompt.

At Pizza box, you meet pies at the creaux of artistry and authenticity. Every Pizzaiolo here has true passion for precision with every pie. Every single order that I pickup comes out as a literal work of art. Consistently. It's flat out fun to eat and watch them make it. I have been ordering pizza from this place, probably about the last two years. You can find them on Uber now for pick up or delivery which I think is amazing. Usually, I go for the cheese pizza at the 16 inch I believe and then I put the meatballs on it. the meatballs are mixed with brisket and steak. Runs about $16. My most recent visit, I ended up with the Lover Boy (MUAH )which is basically the same thing as the cheese and meatball I normally get, but with a little more flare, caramelized onions basil leaves brings it together in a way only an artist can do . They use a real old school, brick oven and everything that comes out of there as a work of art. The oven might as well be a brick easel. I have taken it to go, and sometimes we sit and eat there, and I noticed no difference in quality between the two styles of to go and eating in. Usually when you get takeout, you can expect the quality to drop down a couple of notches but not here. The space is intimate inside and very cute and they keep it simple outside with one or two picnic tables which makes for good people watching while you eat or wait . I highly recommend this place and it's part of my regular activities to be here when I want pizza. It's the best in the Burg if you asked me.

As soon as you walk in, you know you are in for a treat. The pizza oven is right there and the smell is captivating. Highly recommend this small place- you won't be disappointed

Pizza Box in St Pete is a standout for wood-fired pizza fans. The crust is crisp and flavorful, and the homemade sauce tastes super fresh. Unique touches like chunky pepperoni and solid vegan options make the menu interesting and inclusive. The cozy, artsy vibe and genuinely friendly staff turn every visit into a great experience. It's a small spot that fills up fast--arrive early if you can. If you love pizza, Pizza Box is a must-try in St Pete!

So when my brother (a local) told me to hit Joey Brooklyn's on a Saturday night, I was skeptical... until I walked in and saw the line out the door. That alone told me everything I needed to know. Ordered a large sausage & ricotta pie over the phone for pickup. The combo sounded weird to me at first, but trust the locals -- the sweet Italian sausage paired with big dollops of creamy ricotta is straight-up addictive. The crust is thin, crisp on the bottom, foldable but not floppy, with just the right amount of char. Sauce has that perfect tangy kick, cheese is applied with a generous hand, and every bite screams Brooklyn. We demolished the box in the living room while a UFC card played -- grease-stained napkins, cold beers, and zero regrets. Exactly how pizza nights should go. If you're in St. Petersburg and craving an honest-to-God New York slice (or a whole pie that eats like the ones up north), quit scrolling and look no further than Joey Brooklyn's. Late-night hours are a bonus, the staff hustles, and the pizza kicks absolute ass. Like the UFC fights! Already counting down the days till my next visit. Well done, guys.

I actually got a few of them, one had salt on the rim which I liked while the first 2 I got did not, so some inconsistency there but a good drink regardless. To eat, I got the sun kissed ahi tuna bowl; wow I was impressed! The tuna was tasty and had a pretzel crust which is unique. The pineapple paired nicely and was refreshing. Combined with the quinoa and spinach this felt like a really healthy tasty option. I've also gotten the winger pizza, clucker pizza, farmer and the pig, and buff chicken bowl before here and liked everything. The tuna bowl is definitely my new favorite though. My date got the boss plate and also a waffle which I tried and was sweet and fluffy and good. They also offer a beer wall where you get a wristband and pour beer yourself. Love that you don't have to have a whole pint of something and only pay for what you pour. Happy Hour food was really good with the buffalo pizza, the pickle fries, and the pretzel crusted tuna. Everything was done well and came out fresh. If you're looking for a nice casual spot in downtown St. Pete would give this a try.
