Cool ambience located in the heart of downtown Cabo. Tonight was just wood fired pizza and some Argentine and Italian wine. The staff is amazing and very impressive. Check it out when you are staying in the marina area of Cabo San Lucas.

Highlights were the spaghetti and meatballs and seafood linguine. If you read nothing else from my review, get the chocolate mousse!! That was the pinnacle for me and truly the best mousse I've had ANYWHERE.

This spot is a bit inconspicuous, but with maps we were able to find it. From the outside you would never expect such a warm and inviting dining atmosphere. The lush plants and open roof add to the ambience, with an old-world Italian vibe inside. Our waiter, Oscar, was so friendly attentive throughout our dining experience. I had made mention in the reservation about it being my fiancés birthday, but had stepped away and mentioned it to Oscar to ensure they could sing happy birthday to him. We started with drinks, an Aperol Spritz for me and The Godfather for him. Mine was light and refreshing, his was strong and definitely did not skimp on the alcohol. We enjoyed the bread service, which was a delicious crispy loaf accompanied by olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping. For our entrees, we ordered the Mama's Sunday Gravy (with an extra meatball) and the Grilled Prawns. Their entrees are all very large and are intended to be served family style. I ironically do not like pasta, so that's why I opted for the grilled prawns as it's one of the few items on the menu that does not have pasta. My fiance thoroughly enjoyed Mama's Sunday Gravy, stating it was one of the best Italian dishes he's ever had. He's even vacationed in Italy and grew up in a half Italian household, so that's saying a lot. He thought the sausage and meatballs were both packed with flavor and had the perfect consistency. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was rich without being overpowered by herbs. True to form, the entree was so large that he ended up taking half back to the hotel for lunch the next day. The grilled prawns were okay. I found the to be overcooked, but when the pesto was added, it was a nice bite with the crustini. At the end of our meal, Oscar and a few of the other waiters came to our table, delivering a delicious duo of cannolis and sang happy birthday to my fiance. Although we were both stuffed, we managed to split one of the cannolis and took the other to-go. The cannolis were so good, and I'm not a huge fan of cannolis. The shell was thin and packed with a delicious filling. The nut and chocolate chip mixture added a great texture and flavor contrast. This was a perfect way to celebrate my fiancés 40th birthday. Thank you Oscar and the rest of the staff at Salvatore G for making it such a special night. I can't recommend this restaurant enough!

It is an extremely small space and they'll pass you multiple times without looking your way so you can call them over. We waited almost 15 minutes before ordering then didn't get our drinks for another 15 minutes (bottled water!!?). My boyfriend ended up going to the counter, which was about 12 feet away from us, and asking for it himself. It took about another 10 minutes before our carpaccio came and I was extremely hangry (sorry @ bf). However, after taking my initial bite, I was ALL SMILES! One of the best carpaccio plates I've ever had in my life. I ate most of it (thanks @ bf). Still, we were more than halfway done with the plate before our pastas came. I got the short rib rigatoni -- the short rib was decent but there were maybe 4 chunks in the entire thing (not huge chunks either) and the rigatoni was a level above al dente. I was not a fan, so bf and I switched pastas. The shrimp scampi fettuccini was OK -- there was actually a good amount of shrimp in it! The pasta was also OK, it just didn't feel like any of the sauce absorbed into it. Pasta was definitely on the thicker side. Overall, would not return. Definitely not worth the price. Might have given 1-2 stars if not for the saving grace: carpaccio. Actually, I guess I would return solely for the carpaccio as both my app and main dish. Highly recommend stopping in for that dish as a mid-day snack or what have you.
