After two decades, we finally tried La Dolce in Cabo San Lucas, which we found was way overdue. La Dolce is located in a touristy neighborhood but away from the noise of the a main boulevard. The decor is warm, with seating inside and out. We ordered the La Dolce wood fired pizza and the fettuccine. Both items were fantastic. The included bread was also worth the visit, and it came with delicious garlic butter. We enjoyed this delicious meal at an outside table. To drink, we went with the house cabernet, and it was enjoyable. It should be noted they also take reservations, which is a good idea especially when planning to visit on a weekend day. Regarding the service, it was top notch. We look forward to visiting again soon. read more

Who knew that you could find great Italian food in Cabo. This is a hidden little gem just off of the Main Street in downtown Cabo. Great selection of food, wine, desserts so many things to choose from. I couldn't pick just one from my main dish. I got the gnocchi, half with meat sauce and half with cream sauce. I figured I would decide which one I liked better, well after eating the dish, I still couldn't decide they were both really delicious. The indoor setting is really quaint. I'm classic Italian. We opted to sit outside so we could watch the nightlife. The service was fantastic. The staff met every need dolce will definitely be on my list of restaurants when in Cabo. read more

Bizarre to go to an Italian restaurant in Mexico, but this one you'll want to make an excuse for. Simple restaurant but the drinks are great (highly recommend the Cosmos) and the food even better. Totally recommend the lasagna (large portion and doused in sauce) and the fettuccine with shrimp and asparagus. I swapped for spaghetti pasta and they did not skimp on the shrimp in the dish. The gnocchi was perfectly pillowy (it's potato not ricotta) and the bolognese added a richness. The chicken parmigiana was massive and delicious as was the fresh fish. The food here was sooooo good! Everything tasted excellent! The food came out surprising fast and the service was top notch. I ordered the shrimp and salmon pasta and it was amazing! So flavorful! Waiters came by to constantly refill glasses of water as soon as your cup was empty. The staff was very attentive. I was really surprised as to how tasty the plates were. And the desserts??? Why does this place have such high ratings? As someone born and raised in LA, living in NY, and trying pizzas across the globe, this place's pizzas are nothing but your local Trader Joe's $8.99 XL frozen pizza. All the waiters kept staring at us while we were dining, and it was obvious they were all chatting about something in regard to us. Not the end of the world, and not trying to be a Karen, but it was just unpleasantly rude. Please don't get the pizza here. Their seafood pasta was better, but do yourself a favor, and go to Salvatore G's right next door. Salvatore G's is one of the most highly rated Italian restaurants in Mexico for a reason. This place is Walmart, in fact, the Dollar Tree version of Salvatore G's. read more

Just returned from Cabo (we visit semiannually) and I cannot say enough about this restaurant. Stefano and his Team are simply amazing, ALWAYS deliver great friendly service, amazing food and make us feel like a family each time we come back. No special request is too much, they accommodate special dietary needs and/or customize anything you want as long as they have the ingredients in the kitchen, which unlike most Cabo restaurants (especially at this price range) are always fresh. We can eat there everyday and at times do, when we try new places and they fail miserably, we come back here that night. We call it our "to go #1 choice and our back-up" restaurant in Cabo. I sure wish they had a branch in OC, would love to give them the business weekly, as in 4 years going we have yet to be disappointed. Last time we had the freshest mahi-mahi and their home made gnocchi (to die for, light and fluffy and very tasty with Bolognese sauce its a perfect combination). Of course you can never go wrong with any of their pizzas or pastas. Miguel is normally our waiter and tends to lead "the pack" while Stefano is traveling. I cannot think of better a Team manager than Miguel, who is also fantastic waiter. With that being said, it is truly a Team work that brings the success to this establishment and I can guarantee that once you visit, you will know exactly what I mean and you will always come back for more. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by professionally dressed staff who will direct you to a table. Inside and outside seating. A great selection of dishes to choose from and your waiter will be happy to review some specialties. My absolute favorite is the lasagna. Flavorful and traditional - just like grandma used to make. My most recent visit (yesterday) I came ina t the last minute, ordered 8 dishes and 2 pizzas for my neighbor's family who suffered a tragedy that day. Everything came out perfect and they rushed everything in light of the circumstances. There are some good Italian places in Cabo. But nothing compares to La dolce's pricing. Great choice for fresh Italian food in downtown Cabo San Lucas offering al fresco and indoor tables. An American couple dining at one of the sidewalk tables told us how much they enjoyed their meal, so we decided to come back the next night. The highly rated original location is in San Jose del Cabo. Based on our dining experience, this location will become a favorite too. Check out my pictures for an idea of what's on the menu. I've been going to Cabo since 2003. Every time I come, I make a point to stop here. Service is amazing and clearly consistent. The food is always on point. They obviously take pride in their service and food. I've never had a bad meal here. Juan has been my waiter at least three times. Friendly, engaging and helpful. Atmosphere is great. They sometimes have a mariachi band and local artist to do caricatures. Food, is beyond amazing. I know, Italian food in Mexico seems strange. However, they do an outstanding job. I live in New York. My expectations for pizza are high, but even if I discount for the fact that I am trying to eat Italian food in Mexico, the pizza was pretty bad. I have attached pics for proof. The margherita is supposed to be tomato-y with basil and a light touch of cheese. It looks instead like frozen pizza. The La Dolce (I am pretty sure) comes with canned ham. That said, the Jean Pierre is surprisingly good. It's got walnut, arugula, parmesan, and mushroom. A tasty combination that would work in any NYC pizza joint. However, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant unless you (i) need a break from Mexican flavors while here and (ii) are really craving Italian. read more
