Review Highlights - Pizza 3000

Ordered extra large Meat Lover and Donair (to appease my picky son) pizzas with thick crusts from the Bowness location.

It is really very sad that low quality overcooked goods have become acceptable to sell to sell to your consumers and safeway does not care we got your money store manager is getting paid director of operations gets paid they do not care one little bit as soon as i get the list of locations i will post it on here the ones were this is an acceptable practice. you would think with a location right on the transcanada highway that quality would be better it is after all representing sobeys and safeway. your better off going to coop or save on foods they do care about quality that gets put out to it's customers. and the other review in which Rob Goruk thinks everything is ok is horribly wrong i to have had food poisoning from this deli the other offender for allowing this is Roger Broberg | Director of Operations

Do not buy meat products from the Deli at this Safeway. I have had food poisoning twice in 1 year…read more Once from a "cheeseburger" flavor "deli-style meat pie", and once from a package of Maple Leaf Natural Selections Roasted Beef (although the sell by date was a month away, the package was 'puffy', and it was $2 off - that should have been a warning.) Something is wrong with their temperature controls. The manager doesn't care and asserts that they have excellent standards. He further states that there is "no way they can tell it is their product that caused me to be sick unless they test what came out of me" (my actual shit). If you truly care about your family, especially infants and the elderly, NEVER by a meat-containing product from this Safeway's Deli section. I am a registered nurse. I know the onset and symptoms of food poisoning. Furthermore, I am on medication that causes chronic constipation (sorry that info... but that is just to illustrate that I would have been much more sick had I not had that chronic problem). As it was, I missed a day's work, and a day's lost wages because my sick days were already exhausted. Because the manager, Rob Goruc, believes there are excellent safety standards, and that "no one has complained of food poisoning in the 9 months I have worked here", I don't believe any action will be taken to address what is clearly flaw somewhere in their food handling process. Beware. And please complain about Rob Goruc if he doen't respond to your concerns either. I have sent complaints to Safeway head office, and Maple Leaf customer service about this store. I have never had issues with Safeway Deli sections at other Safeway stores.

As I was leaving the parking spot, Purolator truck arrived (Alberta license plate A-79427). I signaled to the driver that I was about to leave, so he could park ahead passing me, however he parked blocking my way. He made me wait until he delivered something to the unit next to mine. The driver was male, tall, old, had white somewhat curly and short hair, blue eyes. I maneuvered the car and waited until he unblocked the way so I could proceed. When I said "I told you I was leaving", he was angry, charged at me in a threatening way, shouted and entered the truck. Instead of backing up his Purolator truck, he moved forward trying to pass, only leaving a minimum space between our vehicles. In the process, my car was scratched (paint was clearly removed in two places). He did not stop. Later that day, I called Purolator to complain (the waiting time was extreme, above 1h). I was told by a manager (Nadia) that someone was going to contact me, but 13 calendar days later, no one has contacted me yet. They do not deserve us, customers, and should not be in business any longer.

Absolutely useless, not to mention rude. No attempt was made to delivery my package and I even got…read morethe barcode put on my door so that any packages requiring signatures could be left. The pizza here is great. I've always loved Panago pizzas, so there isn't any problem with the food…read more The problem with this particular establishment is the staff, there is an asian lady and an asian man who works here and they are the rudest people I've ever met in my life. They are so condescending and unnecessarily haughty to the point where I don't even want to come here just because I don't want to deal with them. The asian lady is especially awful. I asked for a pan pizza, and the lady clearly knew what I meant because she said, "at Panago we call it a personal pizza, not a pan, so you need to order your sizes correctly or else I'm not going to make it right for you." If you knew what I meant when I said pan then why correct me? And if you wanted to correct me so badly you could've easily done it in a nicer manner. Didn't get a greeting walking in the door and not a single smile the entire time I was there. I'm closer to this location but I go out of my way to go to Crowfoot because everyone here is rude. Wouldn't recommend.

Panago used to be an excellent take-out or delivery pizza, but in my last purchase at this…read morelocation, it was so bad that I emailed the head office to complain. No response. Their original claim to fame was that they could put out a really good pizza in less than 10 minutes. Their slow-moving oven cooked their pizzas to a light, crispy yet moist quality in 6 minutes flat. Not greasy or oily. A great concept that produced very good crust and flavours that were quite remarkable for a non-sitdown operation! For many years our go-to pick-up pizza place. But when they switched the Italian sausage from one supplier to another, it seems the changed flavour started their downfall. No longer the same, it was still not bad. But now with the inevitable diversity of franchise owners...? I think there's a fairly large chance that any ethnic food operation featuring European food (Italian, Greek, etc.) run by people from half-way around the world won't appreciate what they are selling, may not care, and start to cut back on the franchise formula - that made it great in the first place - so that cheap and tasteless ingredients will help minimize costs and avoid certain kinds of hassle. In the end they end up biting themselves on the butt. This Panago on Northland is one such example! Ordered their once-great tasting and looking Mediterranean and Primo Capicolo pizzas as we had regularly, and the shameful thing that emerged from this store ended any desire for their product. Mostly crust, the few pieces of meat and extras did little to hide the obvious. For $20+ a hit just junk out of this location! Won't ever return anywhere. A really cool alternative? The fairly-new much better Blaze Pizza on 4th Street in Mission where freshness, price, quality control 'mystery shoppers,' and being able to take out or sit down makes it much more attractive!
