Based on her portfolio online and Yelp reviews, we reached out to Irma in hopes of booking a…read morematernity photoshoot. She was unavailable at the time, so we (feeling a bit of a time crunch) booked another photographer to do the maternity shoot. Irma still reached out once she was available again and was very apologetic for not being able to get back to us sooner. We informed her that we'd already booked with someone else, but thanked her for getting back to us. Now, fast forward a couple of months. After some nonsense back-and-forth and a last-minute cancellation from the other photographer, we reached back out to Irma in hopes she would be available for the same weekend we previously booked (on short notice, no less). To our (absolute) luck, she was! She booked us for a consultation meeting to get to know us and what we were looking for in our shoot, which is already more than the other photographer did. It was our first time doing anything like this, but she was really patient, making sure to answer all of our questions, and even brought up things we previously hadn't thought of. She also informed us that if we needed dresses or anything for the shoot, she had a closet full of stuff we could use. We did not take her up on that offer, but it's great to have that option available. In the end, we left this first interaction with her feeling great about her and our shoot. The day of the shoot, she met us on location, and we immediately got to work. She brought a pop-up tent to change outfits in, and even a wagon cart to hold all of our stuff! She was incredibily patient, but also really great at directing the photoshoot for two people who don't really like to be the center of attention. She showed us some of the raw shots along the way, and even asked if there were any specific aspects of our location we would like to be captured in the photos. Like the consultation meeting, we left our photoshoot feeling good and excited about what we did. When it came time to choose our photos, we had a really rough time narrowing down the ones we wanted to keep. She was very patient with us through this process, and even provided some helpful suggestions and tips when we were absolutely stuck on a few photos. It's great that her studio has examples of the physical items for us to look at when deciding on what package we wanted. The accordian books are an absolute treasure and perfect gifts for anxious grandparents-to-be! We enjoyed and appreciated this process so much with Irma that we went ahead and booked our newborn photoshoot with her as well. A few months later, we started the process all over again and it was as wonderful of an experience as the first go around. As before, she answered all of our questions, asked for our input on what we wanted out of the experience, and we feel like she really listened to us. Once the day of the shoot came around, she was very deliberate but efficient in the process. Not only was she was very patient with us and our little one (allowing for feedings, changing, time to pass any fussiness, etc), she was also very gentle in how she handled and posed our little one. Unlike the previous shoot, we took her up on her wardrobe options, so she provided all of the outfits and props for the shoot, which was great and very convenient. As you can imagine, the ordering appointment was just as stressful for us as the previous time, as we could not narrow down our "keep" pile of photos. As was the case before, she was extremely patient and helpful throughout the process. As a result, we ended up with a collection of photos we absolutely love. I don't think a few words on Yelp! can truly highlight how much we appreciate and love Irma's work. You can tell she truly enjoys what she does, and as a result, makes the entire process enjoyable for everyone. On top of it all, she absolutely loves the little ones, which makes you feel like your baby is in good hands with her.

But happy she was able to capture our last miracle baby. The photos are just so amazing and I can't stop looking at them. We drove from Oakley to have her do our photos, her studio is perfect and she has everything. Which is worth it because I for one am forgetful which I forgot to bring our diaper bag! Thankfully Karen came to the rescue with diapers. She has all the cute and fun things to make your photos meet your vision and then some. All my kids are rainbow babies and the rainbow photo has 7 hearts which is how many angels we have and Karen came up with the idea of adding an extra heart to make it mean more. Which made me start to tear up, our last miracle rainbow baby showed the love to not only his big sisters but to his siblings in heaven. Karen is also super sweet and we had so much to talk about during our session. My eldest daughter who is on the spectrum. I ended up learning a few things from her to help our journey in her school. You feel like she is a friend the whole time, which is something I love in a photographer is a friendly connection. She loves what she does and she's really good with kids of all ages. My husband and I hired JennyDee Photography for both our Engagement and Wedding photography and we could not be more pleased. Once my session was over, she explained to me the process for getting my album. She gave me options for the cover and let me choose the photos I wanted in the album. Along with that came a flash drive with all of my photos taken on the day. Within two weeks my album arrived at my door and it is beautiful.
