I made an appointment for my son, an elite level rower who is in training for the 2025 national championships next month. He's developed some lower back discomfort post practice and competitions. The goal was for him to learn better stretching and back/core strengthening exercises. He worked with Ben, who reviewed goals and then techniques to achieve better lower back conditioning. The actual PT was fine. I came here years ago and had a wonderful experience. So when I needed to go to PT again it was the first place I thought of. I came in and was told I would have a 0 dollar co pay, was not only told this it was written on my paper work. I had about 15 apts. Durring those 15 weeks I never received a bill. Then I get a bill for close to 2k. they billed my insurance 500 a session. my insurance coverd 400 I was told I needed to pay the other 100 per session. I no way did I get 500 dollars worth of service. I called to tell them this and was dismissed. read more

I had my knee scoped due to a torn meniscus. I wanted a physical therapist who was near my home in Swissvale. I had read good reviews about Pivot and my orthopedic surgeon also said he knew of Pivot and heard good things. I was greeted by Layla at the front desk who was friendly and sweet. I was then assessed by Darcy the Physical Therapist and she was warm, kind, caring and thorough. She answered all of my questions (and I ask alot :) ) and did so while training a student who was shadowing her. The location was very bright, clean and has plenty of parking. Darcy Levine At Pivot Physical Therapy in Edgewood Towne Center guided me in preparing for my bilateral knee replacements mid-August. She designed a program for me that I could adapt to frequent out of town trips in June and July. I was able to go directly to outpatient PT following hospitalization, without home PT. It's been just two months since the surgery, but will "graduate" this week. She's been helping me to adapt my program for days that I go to the gym, for those when I don't, and for when I'm on the road. Allegheny Chesapeake is not your traditional physical therapy gym - it's equipped with so much talent that you're sure to be feeling better when you leave, and if not, you'll at least have a plan of attack to address your ailments. I went there from November 2013-July 2014 and am very impressed with the quality of care I received and the knowledge of the doctors. The aides are also very helpful and pleasant. This is a great place, and great for the neighborhood in its convenient location. Expert therapy with prescription, and a free gym to Silver Sneakers folks. I have been treated several times, and always by the friendliest and gentlest of people. When I can't make it to the gym, I have printouts of moves to do in front of my TV. This review is for Dr. Kira Steele at Allegheny Chesapeake. I was referred to UPMC's Women's rehab program but my insurance didn't cover services there. I found Allegheny Chesapeake PT instead and was pleasantly surprised. Dr. Steele was knowledgable and down to earth. After a few months of rehab with her I was able to meet all of my goals as far as pain levels, daily activities and exercise. I highly recommend Dr. Steele. read more

I started to do Physical Therapy when it was Allegheny Chesapeake in 2007, and now Pivot Physical Therapy. I went in initially for a shoulder issue which was resolved with therapy received from the physical therapist who designed an excellent program of exercises. In 2013 I had a hip issue which utimately resulted in a hip replacement. I had 8 weeks of therapy prior to surgery and then after surgery with excellent results. After finishing my hip replacement therapy the physical therapist designed a set of exercises that I continue to do three days a week in the gym connected to the Physical Therapy section of the office. I feel very confident going to the Edgewood office, which is close to my home, but also because if I have a question about an exercise the phial therapist team are there to be helpful with good advice.
