Our meal was just as good as we remembered. Luckily we had made a reservation the restaurant was quite busy. We were a little early so we started with a glass of wine at the bar. Once we were seated we were quick to order dinner. We started with Philly cheesesteak egg rolls which were delicious. I chose the roasted garlic sirloin with parmesan mashed potatoes. My husband went with parmesan crusted chicken which came with broccoli and choice of another side. He also chose the mashed potatoes. Our server Nathan was very attentive. He checked on us regularly. Food was great. I like the ambiance at Firebird's. Kind of dimly lit. Decor is in earthy tones. Clean.

A nice char and flavorful. I almost always order the NY Strip as it's my favorite cut. Tonight when my steak came out if was flat as a pancake and looked more like a thinner version of a ribeye but way larger and wider. Definitley not think and certainly not a 'strip.' Waitress and host checked and came back and said....."Yes it's a NY Strip....it must just have been the way our butcher cut it." Well, if that's the way he cuts a NY Strip you need a new butcher. The fact it says "strip" in the name is a clue. I asked for it medium rare and it was cooked as ordered. But it was so thin a cut.....it didn't have time to develp a good char or sear and the result was the steak cooled quickly, was not as flavorful and in fact tasted a bit mushy. Ate about half of it. Manager was nice enough to give a break on the bill (although I did not ask for it.) I have dined here I think 4 different times and this was my first mediocre or bad meal. Hope they get back to serving a properly cut and thick NY Strip.....if not.....I won't return as what I was served tonight was not up to their standards or mine.

They had a nice flavor, but were much denser and chewier than I expected. The bigger issue was the wait for our entrees. With the restaurant not appearing particularly busy, nearly 50 minutes for fried chicken and jerk chicken felt excessive. The good news? The chicken absolutely delivered! Both the fried chicken and the jerk chicken were packed with flavor and easily stole the show. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy, while the jerk had a wonderful balance of seasoning and spice. Those dishes alone made the meal worthwhile. Unfortunately, my mashed potatoes arrived warm instead of hot. After such a long wait, I was hoping everything would come out piping hot, and that side just missed the mark. Cole slaw was fresh but pretty boring in the flavor department. I really wanted this to be the five-star experience that so many others have had. While this visit didn't quite live up to the hype, the quality of the chicken showed why Pineapple Eddie's has earned such a loyal following. We'll happily give them another shot someday and hope they earn that elusive fifth star.

Visited a couple weeks ago with the wife while driving through Erie on the way to Cleveland. I had the boneless wing dinner and my wife had a steak salad. My daughter and I both ordered the cod, and from the first bite something was clearly wrong. The fish had a strong, off-putting taste -- reminiscent of bleach or ammonia -- and neither of us could eat it. We told the assistant manager, who was apologetic and told us she would remove both meals from our bill. We trusted that and didn't push further, assuming it would be handled. The bill arrived with only $5 taken off. When I brought this back to the same assistant manager, we were told the most they could do was 10%. No explanation, no escalation, no offer of a replacement meal or even a gesture of goodwill while we sat there having eaten virtually nothing. We paid nearly $90 where one person in our family ate. The fish was inedible, a manager's word was not honored, and we left hungry. To be fair, our waitress was attentive and kind. The rest of our table enjoyed their meals without any complaints. I understand that kitchen mistakes happen -- that's not the issue. The issue is how it was handled. A simple follow-through on what was promised would have gone a long way. Instead, we left with a bad experience and, quite literally, a bad taste in our mouths. We definitely won't be making the 40 min drive again.
