Always super helpful and knowledgeable. There is so many different options in store and they are never trying to upsell you just to get your money. I told them the price range I wanted to spend on my camera and the ones I was considering, and they helped me compare the two. read more

I liked the guys that helped me. There were three of them at different times. They seemed to know what they were doing and to be genuinely interested in helping. I had an old picture restored and the result was fantastic! I bought a few of their silver color frames. They have a nice selection of frames. read more

I went to develop some film and disposables that I had. They were extremely helpful and knowledgable about film, not to mention their incredible film variety; they have anything you can obtain online. They also have a large range of cameras and development options. I would strongly recommend coming here if you are looking for a place to develop your rolls. If you're a newbie searching for assistance this is the place you want to come too. I can't wait to see the finished result. read more

I to get a memory card for a new digital camera that I bought and I asked this lady behind the counter if she was sure that the memory card that I was buying was compatible with my camera and if it didn't work, could I return couldn't give me an and then she became and then she made sure to in front of everyone that she was just trying to help me as if I was the one that was being unreasonable because I was asking questions about an item that I was ready to purchase. This is why it's so hard to support small businesses sometimes because the people are so rude. and coincidentally the three options that she brought me to compare seem to be the worst options she probing questions. when I asked for someone else to help me, she got an attitude and very loudly said some pretty rude things. read more

Nailed it! Instant five stars. If I could time travel I wouldn't stop an assassination, save harambe or invest in google. I'd un-waste my time calling other photo stores in the trunk county area and come straight here. I was tasked with a last minute retirement print of a work group photo. Called and spoke to Andres , a very professional lab operator who explained the process and made sure my order was expedited I went online, submitted the image and got a call later on when it was ready for pickup. I was warmly greeted by Hector who made sure my order was to my liking Conveniently located on US1, this very clean store practices social distancing and all applicable measures for disease control, including complimentary gloves at the entrance A lot of camera parts and accessories were prominently displayed for photography enthusiasts and I am grateful for the excellent service rendered I will be back for future photography and print related needs read more

5 stars all across the board. Best photo store in miami since the year 2000. My photography teacher put me ontk this shop since back in the day I used to shoot portraits with 20x24. Inch Polaroids here. A classic photo store be a real photographer and support. Bought 2 lenses from here in 2 months 40mm and the nikon 28mm. & im a cop my Nikon z9 in 2022 from here. Great service friendly atmosphere and the associates actually know wtf they are talking about. Real photographers shop here even if it is in the boondocks of Miami. Come here and learn something I'd give this store 10 stars because they are dedicated to the craft and are a pillar to their community. read more

If this place didn't have a good film selection, I definitely wouldn't do business here. The previous time I have come the employees have been so helpful and kind but when I went in today i had the displeasure of meeting one of the owners which was a woman with blonde hair that a had snarky attitude and a fake customer service voice. I voiced out that i was ready to check out and she looked at me and purposely ignored me and checked out another customer which came in looking for film after i pick out my own selection. I truly feel bad for anyone that has to work under this woman because if she treats customers like that i can only imagine how she treats her staff. Truly an ill-mannered person. read more

I upgraded to a Nikon D780, locally, in large part for the easy negative digitizing function. But then it seemed like nobody had the ES-2 adapter to actually allow me to use the negative digitizing function. What the heck?! I scoured the Internet, checking all the mega-camera stores, the big chains, and Nikon's own website. Nothing. Then Pitman Photo Supply showed up on a search. Not as an ad, but just from a regular google search. Showed available, so I ordered, half expecting that I'd get an e-mail the next day saying, "Sorry, we're out of stock." Instead, I got an e-mail saying, "Your order has shipped." Ordered on a Monday. They printed and boxed it that day, and UPS shows it went out on Tuesday. Free shipping, UPS ground, across the country to CA. Arrived the next Monday. Item was well-packaged, and it was the item I ordered. On the one hand, you'd think, "Well, that's what's supposed to happen." But I'm just so happy that these guys had what I needed, when no one else did, and shipped so promptly. Totally satisfied. read more

I had tried to get a picture printed and framed as a birthday gift at multiple other places and the quality was horrible so I was losing hope thinking it couldn't be done. I called Pitman to see if they could check it out and when I arrived Francesca looked at the previous printouts and the saved photos I had and was able to edit and print the picture beautifully. She was very helpful and also helped me pick out the frame and it all came together beautifully. I absolutely love the way it came out and can't wait to give this gift. read more

Knowledgeable and friendly staff! It's wonderful to have a real photo supply store in Miami... They sell several brands of cameras, film, lenses, accessories, paper, frames, etc! I've been using them to develop negative film for years... They're fast, and can scan or print pictures if you want. That also hold classes, and feature local photographers in their classroom/gallery. I had some prints to metal done recently... They do an excellent job! read more

I went in on a rainy Fathers day to get some help and the staff were excellent. The gentleman who helped me J.D.? spend a great deal of his time trying to solve a lens compatibility problem with my Nikon. I learned I needed AF-S lenses for my camera as the D5000 does not have an auto focus motor. He also updated the firmware in my camera. I tried to pay him for his time and he said....Happy Fathers day.... read more

Staff and service here was friendly and helpful. The workers here are very honest and can direct you to their best deals, in their opinions. It can be mind boggling buying your first camera, but the staff are making sure you won't be overwhelmed with your decisions, and they would even be sure that you wouldn't regret it in the future. That kind of care and service was nearly enough for me to give this store 5 stars. Additionally, this is probably the main and only mega-store when it comes to your photography needs in Miami. So, really, why didn't I give it 5 stars? Well, I'm harsh - but then again, maybe not. It all boils down to the price. I probably could save at least 100 dollars on my camera if I had bought mine online. Would I suggest another place to buy a camera in person? Honestly, I don't know cuz camera stores are hard to come buy nowadays, unless if you're looking for Wolf Camera. But I much rather come here than Wolf. On top of that, this is really a local store, and a good & nice one at that - don't let its store size fool you here. read more

Pitman Photo Supply - Photography Stores & Services Near Me - Miami, Florida

Pitman Photo Supply seems like a pretty decent photography shop in the Miami area. They stock a pretty decent selection of digital cameras, tripods and supports, camera bags, and other photographic accessories. They are a dealer for Nikon, Canon, Lowepro, Bogen/Manfrotto, and other reputable brands. Regarding their customer service... I stopped by Pitman when I was in Miami to buy a plate for my Manfrotto tripod. I called ahead and one associate said they had them in stock, but when I called back the next day a lady answered and told me they were out-of-stock. Thankfully when I showed up they did have what I wanted in-stock. It makes me wonder how good their customer service is given that and given the other reviews here. After I found the tripod plate I wanted I went to the register and stood there for a few minutes without anyone acknowledging me. I finally asked a female associate if I could pay her and she said she'd help me in a few minutes. When I was there the store wasn't particularly busy and I think having to wait to pay is just bad customer service. It should be easy for me to give you money guys, come on Pitman. Besides selling photographic equipment Pitman also offers a wide selection of photo frames and printing services at their digital color lab. Compared to the photography stores I'm used to from Utah Pitman's is fine. They are comparable to an Inkley's or Ritz Camera if you've been to those stores before. If you're a professional photographer you might find the selection at Pitman's somewhat wanting. Most of what I saw at Pitman seemed geared towards the amateur market. I didn't see a lot of high-end professional gear. They can probably order whatever you want though, so if you don't see it in stock I'm sure you can ask them to get it for you. read more

I had a very good experience. I came in to print photos from my phone. I needed to enlarge one as well. I sat at one of their touch screen computers and the manager assisted me. It was very simple! The photos were ready in less than 30 minutes and the quality is wonderful! They informed me that I can upload the pictures from my phone thru their website and send them to be printed. read more

Pitman probably has what you're looking for in their inventory, but NONE of the staff know ANYTHING about photography/videography. If you're a pro, prepare to browse through everything yourself. If you're an amateur, DON'T let the staff guide you, as their level of knowledge is quite shallow. I am not exaggerating. Just keep reading till the end. Let me give you examples of what my business partner and I encountered (in chronological order): We first got a 5K gorilla pod. We asked for a ball-head for the gorilla pod, but were not directed to anything useful. I found them on the shelf right next to where we were talking, to my luck. At this point, we still did not know what we were in for. Next, we inquired about a specific tripod. We asked if they carried a very specific Manfrotto video camera tripod with a ball-head. The employee kept recommending other products. Somewhat frustrated from the diversion, we pointed to another tripod already open (without the ball-head), said that we were looking for the exact same model, just with a ball-head already attached. Such an item exists with 100% certainty (we already have one in our studio), it was just a matter of whether they had it in stock or not. Seeing that the employee was somewhat lost, we showed the item we were looking for from Manfrotto's website. The employee said that they did not carry it. The thing is, though, they DID carry it. We were getting slight hints of ignorance from the answers we were receiving, so we were really not convinced. We started rummaging through the tripod boxes against the wall, and voila, we actually found 4 of the tripods we were looking for. Don't get me wrong; we weren't rude or anything (no swearing, etc.), but were already clearly visibly frustrated, since we had already lost 15 mins. just manually going through each and every tripod box leaning against the wall. Quite frustrated at this point, we next started looking for a specific monopod that was broken a few weeks ago. We found our old model, but also came across another one that was almost identical. It just did not have the max weight carrying limit stated on the box, but was lighter in build. Both were again Manfrotto. We did the mistake of asking the same employee what the difference was. This was the answer he gave us: "well that one's a monopod"... At that point, we asked for someone else to help us. He left us saying "well you probably didn't like me that much it seems". The next guy came over, and he didn't know anything either, but at least he didn't pretend to know and left us quickly enough. The point where we lost all hope and just simply started helping ourselves was when we started talking to the third guy. We asked if they sold lavalier microphones for the Sennheiser EW 112P (or any other Sennheiser wireless microphone for that matter). He asked "what's that?" We repeated ourselves, "the microphone piece for the Sennheiser wireless microphone set". He said "oh ok, what brand?" At that point, we abandoned all hope. At the end of the day, we did purhase goods exceeding 1K USD in amount, but we browsed every corner of the store ourselves, without anyone's help, losing all the precious time in the world. So let me repeat what I said at the beginning: if you know what you're looking for, do it yourself. If you're a pro, expect to browse all by yourself. If you're an amateur, do NOT let anyone guide you, since you will 100% purchase the wrong stuff. Learn your basics from YouTube, make a list and don't let them guide you. read more

I wanted to print photos for a Father's Day project I was making for family members. I tried at CVS, but there wasn't anyone who could assist me. I went to Pitman Photo and was so pleased with the service! A.J. made the entire process so easy with uploading photos, selecting the positioning of the photos for the best quality. Great, friendly, and most important knowledgeable staff. In the 5 mins I waited, they went above and beyond for everyone they were currently taking care of. This is the reason why people keep coming back. This is the reason why I come here. Came in to get a digital photo developed. They took the time to explain what my options were and how I can get it done with the best results. You don't get this kind of service and dedication at drug stores. I have been a Customer of this store for years. I used their printing services and was always satisfied, however, from the las three years my experience with Pitman is really bad. Their website constantly crash or shows "Error" when I try to sign in on my account. Today I tried to order a metal print through the website, the website did not work. I called the store, they told me I had to go to the store. I repeated the call later, and they told me that I must place the order online. Definitely, I am not going to use their services again. As a photographer in Miami, it is a sad thing to see how the only photography gear store in the area is crumbling wit a very bad customer service. read more

Went to the store yesterday right when they were about to close (traffic was terrible) Staff stayed happy to help me without know if I would turn in to profit. They were very friendly and helpful, they even went as far to ensure that I was setting all possible rebates and paying the least for my goods. Spent $3200 in a brand new camera and lens. I'm glad I shopped there and not at Amazon like I always do. Shopping in store has that true social component and friendship building that we won't find from online stores something that I miss. Kind of when we used to have the thrill at Blockbuster (RIP). They have everything you want. Although this was my first time, they've made a lifetime customer. I've been here a couple times in the past but the employees here helped me so much these past couple days I had to come leave a review. I had to make prints for a gallery (for the first time ever so I was kind of a noob at it), so I had a hundred questions and one employee, (I wish I remembered his name!) was extremely patient with me and answered all my questions. I went back today to get one more print and it took only 10 minutes. In the mean time I talked to one of the employees about photography and different cameras and she was super super nice. The store has a variety of equipment, everything from lighting to tripods to lens cleaners to film to frames. Only thing is that I also wanted to purchase a Canon 50 mm 1.8 lens and they were out of stock, but I don't blame them because it's a very popular lens and they told me that every time they get an order, they go by really really quick. Overall great place and I highly recommend going there. read more

I haven't been here in years, mostly due to the employee attitude I always encounter... I have been quite a photo bug for a long time, and would often come here with my parents to beg them for whatever lens I wanted at the time for my Canon setup... And there in lies the problem... it seems that if you don't shoot Nikon, you will be treated as a second class citizen here... I always kind of dealt with it because what choice do you have in Miami? But I will never forget one visit, it was before a big trip and I was planning on buying several L lenses (aka planning to blow a lot of money) and I was there with my father, the guy behind the counter started on one of his rants against Canon and I was really losing my sense of humor for this guy, so instead of smashing his head into the glass case, we ended up leaving in disgust after deciding we didn't want to hear anymore on why we should just buy a Nikon... ordered everything from B&H (no tax!) and saved a few hundred dollars and more importantly saved on really shitty attitudes... read more
