I like a place where you can build your own adding ingredients that sounds good at the time.

Ate breakfast here a few months ago while I was staying at the Best Western. No problem then with…read morethe service or the food back then. This time around the service was... well, I'll have to say it was bizarre. I ordered a spicy cheeseburger and fries to dine in and Thai chicken bits to go. Waiter did not have a clue about the specials or the menu items in general. I asked for an unsweetened iced tea and got sweet tea which I returned and got water. Food was ready pretty quickly, however, he tried to hand my plate with the burger and fries to me while I was standing at the ATM getting cash, I told him that it'd be great if he put my food on the table, and he did (Albeit sans silverware or napkins so I walked to the waitstaff station and helped myself). As I was eating he stopped by to see if I needed anything else and I said I'd like for him to provide Thai chicken bits. He explained that I had ordered them to go and would be presented with that portion of my order after I finished my burger and fries. While I was still eating he stopped by again and asked if I'd be needing anything else or if I wanted my check. Having been enlightened earlier with the knowledge that under no circumstances would I get my Thai chicken bits until I finished my burger and fries, I told him yes, bring the check. He came back and stood next to me and figured out the check, then placed the wi-fi credit card reader thing on the table next to my unfinished plate of food. He stood nearly at attention (a bit creepy) and waited while I wiped the grease and ketchup off of my hands and fished my wallet out to pay this fine young waiter. BTW the food was pretty good, about what I expect from Denny's. I almost didn't leave the waiter a tip but felt a little sorry for the guy for having put him through the traumatic experience of serving me a burger and fries so I left $5. It may be the last tip he ever receives.

Nice to have another restaurant for classic breakfasts - especially in the FSJ area. Took a…read morechance, checked it out, and am glad I did! Arrived early morning, about 7am. Restaurant was very clean and the front staff were friendly and inviting. Throughout my meal the server was attentive and accommodating to my picky requests :) Got a chance to interact with several of the friendly staff while munching away. Was especially impressed by the supervisor on shift (morning of June 20). Somehow she noticed that I love orange marmalade and made sure my second order of toast included extra marmalade packets. Little things like that mean a lot! Maybe I'm weird, but I love clean bathrooms and always notice when they are attended properly. The bathrooms here were awesome! (i.e clean, good flush pressure, proper water faucets, soap dispenser works, towel dispenser works). Anyways, love this place and will be coming back for sure.

Overheard conversation between three twenty-something guys at Casey's Sunday morning…read more Guy 1: Dude, you have to try this Caesar!!! Guy 2: You know clam juice makes me puke and vodka makes me crazy!!! Guy3: Dude, all we're asking is you try one!! Guy 2: One leads to two. Two leads to three and after three you're not going to like me anymore!!! Brings back fond memories of lost weekends and sound advice not followed all courtesy of Casey's. The pub hasn't aged a lot since it's opening. In fact the usual suspects can be found any given weekend, filling the same seats they've occupied since the late eighties. Some things have changed, the awesome HO scale train that raced by on tracks overhead is gone. Some things have stayed the same, the wait staff is still friendly and funny and not afraid to stop and chat with the patrons. My server, a local, born and raised here, relished the fact most of her clientele went to school with her parents and some of her former school mates who frequent the pub haven't aged that well. She recommended a sleeve of Belgian moon draft with brunch. A smooth beer, heavy on citrus, which I probably would avoid except at breakfast where it makes perfect sense. I tried the avocado toast. A soft poached egg on brioche with tomato and mashed avocado. It really lacked any kind of flavor or texture, as did the fruit plate that accompanied it. However food and drink is reasonably priced here and I do enjoy the free conversation.
