She came over to talk to me and one of the employees in this store says to her "Are you the one with those four boys?" She told the employee she was and the employee says "I told him if I had four boys I'd shoot myself in the head." She said this again IN FRONT OF MY CHILDREN. My wife called and asked to speak to a manager and they put her on the phone with the same employee who made these terrible remarks. She did not realize it until the end of the conversation. So whoever her manager is will never know. My children were in there behaving perfectly. They were using their money to buy stocking stuffers for their mommy.

OK I normally use Ider Discount Drugs in Ider Alabama for all my meds. But for the last few times…read moreeither they didn't have my meds in stock and owed me meds or didn't have my daughter's in stock and I had to keep coming back until they got it in. It is also closer for me to go to Walgreens to get my meds. So I had my meds transferred to Walgreens. I misunderstood what Walgreens told me about one of my meds..besides it's hard to hear through their drive through window...anyway one of my meds I was gonna have to go back to Ider to get filled. I called Ider to ask if they had it in stock and explained to then why I had my meds transferred to Walgreens main reason was being closer. They told me on the phone they would fill it. I drive from ft. Payne to Ider to get this med filled where I got the run around. I walk in give them the prescription they look at it and told me it will be a few minutes. I told them I would be back to pick it up. I run to the feed store and back and that's when they tell me that the prescription was made out to Walgreens that they couldn't fill it..they could fill it just bill Walgreens for it they thought I was srupid...but anyway the dr. Was still open so I go back into the doc office explain what was going on and he rewrote the prescription with Ider drugs on it. I go back over to the drug store hand it to the lady and very rudely she then tells me that she refuses to fill my prescription because I had my other prescriptions transfered over to Walgreens in a very hateful voice and then throws my prescription at me. I asked her why didn't she tell me this when I called and she told me she was calling my doctor. Well naturally I told her to call him I was on my way back over there. He wasn't pleased. Anyway needless to say Walgreens will get all my business from now own and my family's business. I will tell everyone I know how I was treated at Ider discount drugs and let them be the judge if they want to use them or not. This drug store was filled with people and this lady yelling at me and throwing my prescription at me. If you have any common decency I advise you not to use Ider drugs. After using them for years they treat you like your a piece of crap. I do plan on turning this over to my insurance and lawyer.

To the pharmacy manager and pharmacist at the Walgreens on West Walnut Avenue/Dug Gap in Dalton:…read more Shame on you. Last night, my close friend Lisa was actively dying. She had just been sent home on hospice, and while I was there saying what could be my final goodbye, she began experiencing severe distress. Hospice immediately called in comfort medications--medications that weren't optional, weren't for convenience, and weren't something that could wait until tomorrow. They were ordered to relieve the suffering of a dying woman. A family member rushed to your pharmacy and arrived approximately 10 minutes before closing. Instead of showing even the smallest amount of compassion, they were told the prescriptions would not be filled because it was too close to closing time. Your solution? Send the family to Chattanooga to find a 24-hour pharmacy. After making that drive during one of the worst nights of their lives, they were told the wait would be another two to three hours. Think about that. While a family was gathered around a dying loved one, instead of being able to focus on comforting her, they were forced to spend precious time driving from pharmacy to pharmacy because your store chose closing time over compassion. Hospice comfort medications exist for one reason--to prevent unnecessary suffering at the end of life. Every minute those medications are delayed is another minute of pain and distress that no dying person should have to endure. Policies matter. Hours matter. But humanity should matter more. I hope Walgreens management thoroughly investigates what happened and asks whether this is truly the standard of care they want associated with their name. No family should ever have to beg for comfort medications while saying goodbye to someone they love. To the hospice nurse who came out in the middle of the night and to Dustin Saylor for helping secure the supplies needed to care for Lisa--thank you. You demonstrated what compassion actually looks like. You were the light in an otherwise heartbreaking and infuriating night. Lisa deserved comfort. Her family deserved better. Walgreens failed them.
