We purchased a used 2026 Airstream Globetrotter from Airstream of Colorado in August 2026. We knew…read morewe were buying used and never expected perfection. Our concern is the difference between what was represented before delivery, what ASCO's own documentation says was inspected or corrected, and what we actually received.
We chose ASCO partly because of its many positive reviews. With an 860-mile trip each way, we repeatedly sought reassurance that the trailer would be inspected, necessary repairs completed and the unit detailed before we arrived.
Jill Penn was responsive throughout the sale. Problems became apparent while we were already traveling to Colorado and receiving real-time photos and updates saying specific items had been addressed.
On August 26, Jill texted that the cabinet was "good to go!" It wasn't, resulting in a signed dealer "We Owe" for the pantry/cabinet face.
On August 27, Jill sent a photo of the outside shower door saying "New cover in place." ASCO's own work order says "REPLACE OUTSIDE SHOWER DOOR." Instead, the existing door had apparently been painted; the finish began coming off almost immediately when wet. The same work order identified a bent rear awning/window arm, which remained bent at delivery.
Those details matter because we were already on our way to Denver relying on real-time reassurance that identified items were being corrected before we arrived.
After delivery we discovered a failed shower head, water leak and later a completely inoperative radio. The interior also required substantially more cleaning than expected.
After repeated requests, Service Manager Anna Bozard provided the completed Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI), dated the day before delivery and signed by Anna. Its 141 inspection items show the radio and shower faucet checked, water systems checked for leaks, and the interior/exterior marked clean. Components can fail, but several immediate problems involved areas specifically marked inspected while other items represented as corrected clearly were not.
We sent Anna ASCO's work order and photos. She confirmed replacement parts were ordered; the shower door is currently backordered and parts are supposed to be drop-shipped for repair at our local Airstream dealer.
The pantry followed the same pattern. We understood ASCO would coordinate the repair locally. Instead, after repeated follow-up, we were told the part could be shipped and to arrange installation ourselves. GM Dave Delano eventually confirmed in writing that ASCO would cover the part, shipping and local installation. We appreciate that commitment, but we still had to chase the part, schedule service and confirm payment ourselves.
Title work was similar. Written financing instructions said ASCO would submit it, and Finance Manager Chris Prothe told us his title department would handle it. Instead, the documents and tax check were mailed to us without instructions. Arizona MVD rejected the check because it was payable incorrectly. ASCO sent a corrected check and we completed registration ourselves. Dave later said out-of-state buyers handle their own registration, contradicting both the written instructions and what Chris told us.
We also worked directly with Airstream corporate to transfer the warranty and arranged the remaining service ourselves.
There was also a duplicate $120 gratuity payment suggested by Jill. When the original electronic payment appeared unsuccessful, we paid another way; the original later processed too. Jill acknowledged the duplicate, but returning it took weeks, multiple promised dates and repeated requests. It was eventually returned.
We hesitated to post this review while waiting for parts, but a month has passed while we have handled the warranty transfer, title issues and service arrangements ourselves.
After this experience, we noticed Dave's responses to other one-star reviews often apologize for not "meeting expectations" and invite the reviewer to call. We cannot speak for those customers, but that framing stood out.
Our concerns are not simply "expectations." We have texts, photos, a signed We Owe, ASCO's work order, completed PDI, emails and title documents supporting this sequence. At some point, there is little a phone call can add to the written record.
To be fair, the trailer is registered, pantry replacement provided, $120 returned, exterior parts ordered and local service scheduled. We worked hard for those outcomes.
Again and again, something presented as inspected, repaired, replaced, handled or coordinated by ASCO became our responsibility to identify, document, chase, schedule or resolve.
We really like our Airstream. Our disappointment is with the process surrounding it. The sales experience was responsive; the post-sale experience required persistence.
Other customers have clearly had different experiences with ASCO. We genuinely wish ours had been one of them.
