Walked into a puddle of water in my kitchen in the morning. The filter under the sink was the…read moreculprit. The filter was there when I moved in, I repalced the filter. It was a year old. It never really worked. I used to own a farm, I know how to test water. I turned the water under the sink off completely and cleaned up all the water. I called Dave's Plumbing on recommendation of the previous homeowner. The man on the phone was nice enough, said that he may or may not be able to get someone out here, but tomorrow definitely. Fine. I got a call from one of Dave's employees that he was stopping by in the afternoon. I showed the man the situation under the sink. I asked that the shut off valves be replaced. They were 40 years old and one turn away from leaking themselves. I asked to have a filter of my choice also installed since the old filter was clearly not functioning properly and, read above, it didn't even work with a new (expensive) filter. The plumber guy even told me that the filter I wanted wouldn't help. The TDS on the new filter I installed is ~7. Folks, most bottled "spring water" is about ~35. Florida water out of the tap is ~200+. Dave - this is the part you need to read! The plumber that showed up clearly did not want to do the work; he clearly had a major attitute. I smiled, invited him in, asked how his day was going.... The Work: Replace a couple of valves and install a new filter. I did not have the filter, but I wanted the old leaking filter removed and new valves installed (one of the old valves barely shut off and leaked) so I could get use of my sink again. I would order the filter and then have them install it. Easy since the proper valve to the filter would be shut off; once the new filter was installed, just flick the switch to let the water flow. The plumber kept repeatedly saying, "You can do this yourself right?" "This job ins't too hard". He also said, "Why not just fix the existing filter". I explained to him it was not effective in the least. Again,, "You can do this yourself right?" "This job ins't too hard". "Why not just fix the existing filter". I work like everyone else and it is overwhelming sometimes. I needed to hire a plumber for their expertise to knock out the job. Needless to say, not having your kitchen sink working is a bit of an inconvenience. I could clearly see the plumber didn't want to do it. As I was showing him the door ( I mean he doesn't want to do it), he starting saying, "We are open M-F 9-5, just give us a call". You all need to understand that this was all being said with an attitude. Why would I call you? You clearly didn't want to do the job. I bought two shark bites, a coupler for the new filter I bought. It took about 1.5 hours to remove the old plumbing and install the new filter. My total cost ~300. My savings doing it myself? I'd say ~500. I will not be called Dave's Attitude Plumbing ever again. I'm glad you all have all the work you need and can afford to be selective. Florida = the state of contractors with wet diapers.

They called at 430 saying they couldn't come and rescheduled for Wednesday same time. Wednesday came and we hadn't heard from the company. They did show up but not at 430. They arrived at 515. It wasn't a big deal but I could see how usually this is a potential problem. The driver came out and shook my hand with a smile. He then found my septic and the opening to it pretty quick. I was impressed. When he pulled it open it was noticed this tank has not been maintained in years. He guessed 5-10 years. He pumped it out pretty quick. I was told an hour but didn't take more then 30 minutes. I would use these guys again. He even took a look at my neighbors yard as well. He ran out of time to take care of it today but maybe they can reschedule for a different day.

I was scheduled for between 12 and 4pm a few days later and the driver arrived at 12:15. We set a date I took off that day and in the morning they call to postpone it, saying they have some more urgent call, no respect for my time. The technician came and told me that one of the unit need a new blow motor. I have a full labor and part warranty from the MFR. but they charge me diagnostic charge off $89 + $ 150 what they call "processing fee" which is a simple money grab. sound to me to me like a form of classic bait and switch technique.( they came the flowing week and change the motor it took the technician only 15 minutes sharp to replace the motor, they got $150 from the MFG as Josh told me + 150 +89 =$389.) As far as the 2nd unit it was working perfectly well before they "serviced it" 2 hours after the technician left the system shut down and I noticed that the pan below the system which was bone dry was full of water water the technician said that I need a new drain line which they will charge $1000, Called other companies and replacing a drain line run $500-$800. Turned out that the drain line didn't needed a replacement but just a correct opening the clog. I did pay them the $ 150 "grab money" but they called me already twice to pay it. The technician arrived, opened the indoor HVAC unit, looked at the problem, closed it back up, and left without making any repairs or attempting to correct the issue. Nothing was resolved. As a disabled United States Army veteran, I expected honesty, professionalism, and accountability. Instead, I received excuses, finger-pointing, and a refusal to honor what should be a straightforward warranty claim on a brand-new home. A warranty should mean something. Customers should not be forced with a subcontractor while trying to avoid responsibility. Stand behind your workmanship, honor your warranty obligations, and send qualified technicians who are willing and able to perform the work. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. After the first incident I called the manufacture and gave them the serial number of the unit, and it was not from 2023 but from 2021. I believe they sell used units and just rig the unit to get by.
