This is the place to go if you're in mid-beach and looking for some place to stroll to for a light dinner (not worth driving to imho, as parking is a real pain (street only) and the food isn't THAT spectacular that you would go out of your way to drive here), wanting something casual, pizza and pasta, not break the bank and open late (11PM on weeknights which is still considered late down at the beach as places are still on "covid-time"...so annoying lol). We were staying literally across the street at the Marriott Cadillac Hotel and Beach Club (highly recommend!!). It was a Thu night, fairly late to still be wondering where to go for dinner. We had observed Piola's patio dining over and over again during our frequent drive-by's but just dismissed it off hand as we had our list of other places that were our go-to's while visiting Miami Beach but this night, we were desperate to find a place close by to grab a bite. So, I perused the Yelp reviews for this place - they were pretty favorable - so we decided to give it a try. Walked across the street, the patio area was filled with diners but there was no wait - so we scored a patio table. My recommendation is - sit outside, not inside - though you're overlooking Collins Ave street traffic (not exactly picturesque Ocean Drive lol), there iS still good people watching action to be had, you have the fresh ocean breeze and at night, it's pretty quiet and chill AND - BIG BONUS - we got lucky and came when they had live music on the patio so we really scored! The singing duo was FANTASTIC. VERY FUN, entertaining and not too in-your-face loud. What a treat. (Piola, KEEP BOOKING THAT ACT! See my pic and vid!) The food is decent - wait, let me clarify - the pizza we had (with one minor fixable complaint) was SO GOOD. I WOULD DEFINITELY GO FOR THE PIZZAS. Party of 2 - we split a Caesar Salad plain (no protein add in) (definitely big enough to split) $10 and one of their hand tossed wood burning fire pizzas (the Canareggio). I had a Peroni in a chilled glass (nice touch!) and we called it a day (night). The salad was just meh. Not bad, not great. Like something you might get at McD's frankly. Wish it had been served much more cold than it was - it was cold but I love romaine hearts when they're super cold and crunchy - totally makes the salad. The Canareggio pizza was DEEEEELISH. SO GOOD. THE ONLY CRITICISM I HAVE about the pizza was the dollops of ricotta cheese were cold! Not even room temp. Cold. Like they had been put on the pizza as an afterthought straight from the fridge lol. We had a Spis pizza with ricotta dollops a few nights earlier at the Lincoln Road shopping area and the ricotta was melted into the pizza (delicious as well! See my review) - that's what I was expecting here. The night happened to be a lovely evening to sit outside with a nice breeze blowing, not too warm (another reason to come in the evenings during the summer), fun relaxing dining, and AMAZING LIVE MUSIC! Pro Tip - call and find out when they do their live music and definitely time your meal around that! Worth it! I would also generally stay away from Fridays and weekend nights to avoid waits, lines and crowds since their patio seating is super limited. Not as fun sitting inside. And best to dine-in vs carry out because any pizza, but especially fire roasted specialty pies like Piola's, are just not as good eaten out of a cardboard box. Truth. Located in the Hampton Inn, Piola is a go-to for fancy pizza and Italian eats. We arrived right when it opened at 5:00 and were seated right away. The service was VERY FAST - I think it took us only 10 minutes to get our food. The server also checked on us maybe three times during the meal, which was kind of unheard of in the times of worker shortages. Avocado dip was fantastic! It was basically guacamole: avocados mashed with fresh tomatoes, onions, basil and lime juice. Really warm and delicious. It also came with focaccia sticks, which I would highly recommend ordering. They were very warm, crispy and well seasoned! The BBQ pizza came with basil and onion on it and was cooked in the traditional Italian way with a crispy flatbread crust. Really delicious! The ambiance was also really nice. There were both indoor and outdoor eating options. Prices were not bad at all for Miami Beach! read more

I often stay at the Cadillac across the street and have seen the lines at this place, piquing my curiosity. Last night, we decided to give it a try. The wait was quite short, and we were seated inside. While our server was a bit slow and far from personable, the food was as quite tasty. We shared a Caesar salad which was truly excellent. The dressing had a hint of sweetness to it that was delightful. We also shared the meatball appetizer and a pizza. Pizza is usually a hard sell to people who have lived in NJ and NY, but this cut the muster. We left satisfied and know we will definitely eat here again. I ordered the spaghetti and I believe is the margarita pizza both were good nothing special or above average about it, however very fulfilling very large portion of both. There is inside and outside dining which is great I sat outside in the evening for dinner. The customer service could definitely use some improvement. So this restaurant is fairly new. It is small and was very crowded when I had dinner there. I ordered a Caesar salad and spaghetti bolognese. The restaurant was VERY noisy. Tables are crowded together so you can hear everything from the child screeching to the noise from the kitchen mixed with loud background music. I felt like I was in a busy cafeteria and the food and service both were good but not great. My server was very slow to bring the check. He was outside messing around with the hostess at the door. I was disappointed in the Caesar salad it was just dry and flavorless Romain topped with way too much cheese. The spaghetti bolognese came with four meatballs for an extra charge. I am glad I ordered the meatballs because they were the most flavorful part of the meal. I did not try the pizza which appeared to be an authentic style of Italian pizza. Overall this place is confusing as to what they are trying to offer. And there goes the screeching child and the dogs, yes there are two dogs in the place as well. Ordered delivery and the food certainly lived up to all of the 4+ star reviews. I enjoyed the pepperoni pizza, caesar salad & meatballs appetizer. Pizza was cut into extra large slices and was on the smaller side, more like a personal size pizza. Crust was perfect as were the toppings! Salad was basic and good but the star for me was the meatballs. On point! I'll definitely be sure to order from here again or better yet dine in next time maybe. Only wish they had included utensils as I requested and additionally asked for them in my notes. We got all different things- meat lovers pizza, penne Alfredo with chicken, and on every 29th of the month they have all you can eat gnocchi with all different homemade sauces for $19. The food was perfect, the servers Gloriana and Melissa were super friendly and warm. Fred, one of the owners, was super accommodating and helpful.
