I toured multiple places around Austin, and none of them fit the bill. They were either too expensive for the "value" they provided, the location was unsafe, or the teachers seemed to not give two s**** about your child. When we toured ABCDee, both my partner and I left teary eyed, we felt such a huge relief feeling confident about where we were sending her everyday. Now, a year later and it wasn't a honeymoon phase. Every classroom, every teacher, all the staff (especially Ms. Maria - home cooked meals and snacks EVERYDAY), have exceeded our expectations. We had the sad thought today of "but what about when she has to go to elementary school", we don't want her to leave!!! Knowing that your child is loved and cared for when they can't be with you is a gift we would pay any price for. Alison and Connie run a great school. Thank you for all that you do!! We love y'all.

The owner, Alison, and director, Connie, are considerate and welcoming of families and their children. My family instantly fell in love with the community they have developed with the staff, kids and families. Every time I pickup my nephew all the teachers, the director and, the owner make me feel so welcomed while making pickup seamless and enjoyable. With as many kids enrolled at ABCDee it is a wonder that all the staff can name every single child! My nephew is always excited to go back the next day to see all the other kids and staff. If you have dealt with daycares before you know how difficult it can be to find one that you can trust, where the staff not only loves the kids but loves their jobs and truly cares for the families enrolled. I can't wait to have my own babies attend. I 100% recommend this facility to anyone! Thank you ABCDee for taking care of and loving my nephew so much, you will always hold a special place in my family's hearts.

We know this now since we quit the Goddard School and started with another one about 3 miles away and have had a totally different experience. Just know that the Goddard School infant room is chaos. One of the ladies was always so flustered. Babies always, always, always crying. Bright florescent lights on constantly. Music playing all of the time. Babies just laying around on the floor. 5 month old babies "holding bottles" and "feeding" themselves. Babies in the cribs crying and not being soothed in any way. Pacifiers overused. Babies sitting looking at a mirror on the wall crying. No one ever looked happy there! Our baby was miserable and always red and swollen and voice was hoarse from crying all day. It was awful. We are so happy now that we are no longer there. My co-worker's baby had the exact same negative experience and I tried to push it out of my mind but...Trust your intuition! They are professional, warm, and always willing to provide additional guidance and support to us as new parents. The building and facilities feel safe, secure, and clean. This last year of global pandemic has presented the teachers and staff with so many unique challenges and they've navigated each one effectively and with grace. Deep down I know that these wonderful ladies do a much better job of taking care of my children all day than I could ever hope to do on my own. The curriculum always blows my mind and the best part is receiving photos of my kiddos throughout the day. My favorite photo was one of my son laying on the ground and painting a "fresco" onto some butcher paper taped to the bottom of a table. Seeing them learning and engaged always brings a smile to my face. Big thanks and love to all of you ladies for being there and helping us with the big and important job of raising our two sons.

The SMS staff and families have been such a huge and wonderful part of our lives for 8 years. It was hard dropping my older son off for the first time (at 3 months), but when it came time to drop my younger son off for the first time (also at 3 months), I knew he was going to be in such great hands, it really was like leaving him with family! I also believe that my older son's smooth transition into kinder was thanks to the 'academic' and social learning he experienced at SMS.

Along with Miss Liz, she helps create an environment that is safe, nurturing, and incredibly welcoming. It's never easy to leave your child with other people, and the first week was definitely difficult for me as a parent, but these women made the transition easy and I know my child is getting exceptional care from them. We have absolutely loved the Woodland Schoolhouse. During the pandemic, our family planned to keep…read moreour 4 year old son at home. But once we learned about Ms. Nicole's outdoor school option and small class size, we had to take the opportunity. My son loved spending his days hiking, catching frogs, building forts, and learning about snakes, insects, and edible plants. He came home snuggly, tired, and happy after a full day of adventure and play. The best part of the Woodland Schoolhouse is the positive community Ms. Nicole creates everyday. She teaches children to be inclusive, speak kindly, and set respectful boundaries with one another. She is a wonderful communicator and was always willing to talk with me when we had concerns about our son. Ms. Nicole is a teacher who gives 100% of her best energy and takes the time to really know each child individually. We are so thankful our son was able to spend this year at the Woodland Schoolhouse and look forward to when our daughter can join next year.

The teacher said he never talked, they rarely went outside and most of the day was spent sitting at a table doing table work. I searched high and low and just couldnt either find a place I liked or had openings. I called probably about 30 places and toured about 10. I came across an alt ed website and found Woodland Schoolhouse. It's run by a lovely woman named Nicole out of part of her home she has converted to be solely dedicated to school space. Words cannot express how thankful we are for Nicole and her teaching assistants. Under her care, I have watched my son find his voice. He loves school and loves Nicole. Some of the things I love about Woodland? Nicole's patience. At this age, so much of the learning is social interaction. She doesn't "deal with the kids", she gives the tools to deal with things on their own. What's the adage about give a man a fish, feed him for a meal...teach him to fish, he eats for life? I watch her patiently teach the kids to verbalize their thoughts and feelings and consequently how to respond to another's. I've watched her model and instruct these little people to have better communication skills than many grown adults I've known. We've frequently encountered another child upset or lashing out (in normal child like ways and not at school). My son has my son has learned to keep his cool and I often hear him telling his friends or family "it's ok, accidents happen." He has also learned to calmly and confidently tell others when he's not ok with things instead of getting upset or walked all over. I love that the kids spend so much time exploring outside. She encourages imagination and independence. My son is learning how capable he is of so many things both mentally and physically. I read somewhere that the core of a child's personality is set by the age of 5. With this in mind, I took it very seriously who I left my son with. I wanted someone who I felt could offset our weaknesses as parents to help develop a well rounded little person. Both my husband and I couldn't be happier and only wish we had found her sooner. We will be forever grateful for the time our son did spend at Woodland. While we are excited to see him enter kindergarten in the fall and having another son whom is 17, we know we will never have it as good as Woodland again.

From day one, this team has made us feel confident that our girls are cared for! When I went back to work and dropped off my 4-month-old for the first time, Ms. Irene gave me so much peace of mind. She treated our daughter with such care, and that feeling continued with Ms. Mairo and Ms. Anna, who have been part of her journey as she's moved up. Watching our now-confident toddler walk happily into her classroom each morning is a testament to the environment they've created for her. Our oldest has grown tremendously during her time here. Ms. Angel, Ms. Layla, and now Ms. Kris have helped her build confidence, independence, and a love of learning. As she gets ready for Pre-K, I know the foundation they've helped build will stay with her long after she leaves. The leadership team deserves recognition too. Ms. Autumn, Ms. Raquel, and Ms. Alana do an incredible job communicating with families and creating a center that feels welcoming, organized, and genuinely caring. And then there are all the little things that make a difference--the warm greetings, the fun activities, the familiar faces throughout the building, and even Ms. Robin in the kitchen, who somehow became one of my daughter's favorite people. Ms. Katie has also been a constant source of love and encouragement for both of our girls over the years. As two full-time working parents, we appreciate the dependable hours and support this center provides. But more than anything, we're grateful for the people. Daycare is hard work, and parents are trusting you with the most important people in their lives. This team never takes that responsibility lightly. Our girls feel special here. They're excited to go every morning. They come home happy with stories and excited to tell us about their day. I wish I could list every teacher and staff member who has impacted our family, because it truly takes a village. We are incredibly grateful to be part of this one.
