I've been here twice and both were fun experiences! It's not that expensive considering how long you're here for. Parking is VERY difficult so come early. How easy it is to follow instructions largely depend on your instructor. I felt like I had to watch what they were doing rather than listen to them, because what they said they would do vs what they actually did were very different. Overall a fun, affordable outing! I'd recommend it. Even if you're not a good painter like me! Haha

We tried this place for a Paint & Sip. The directions were very clear and the instructors were all very helpful and delightful. Wish they had given designated times for snacks and Sips and more socializing. But I understand there's is only so much time they could accomplish a whole lesson and time for food/drinks. We had a great time and will certainly try to attend another painting class in the future.

This place was sooo much fun! I went out for a girls night and we truly had a great time we took a bottle of red wine and painted the night away! They provided the wine glasses, wine/bottle opener, paint aprons, and organized everything perfectly! When it came down to painting, the in house artist easily guided us through the painting process ‍ I will definitely be back again!

Was walking around and saw this place. From the outside looked like an art exhibit spot. Went in asked is this a painting school type of place and the lady said that they do sip and paints and gave me a card. Depending on my mood, I may come through and do some Bob Ross paintings!!

[622] Whew .. This place is popular. Visited with a birthday party and the Sunday morning class sold out. Looks like it hold about 56 people. There was complimentary bagels and OJ so that was a nice plus. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our group really loved the instructions given to us to help us paint something we want to put on our wall. The individual spaces were super tight so I'm glad they had a cubby space on the side to place your purses. Too tight that I kept bumping people as I walked out of the space. The walls were coated with tons of cool pictures that can be chosen for a private party. When we arrived the area was set up including brushes, canvas, paints and water cup. They gave the birthday girl a gift so that was sweet. Parking was HORRIBLE. Since it was Sunday street parking was free.. well if you can find it. I parked 3 blocks away. Meters were only 2 hours so you can't really use it for a 2 hour class. Around the corner is a $5 lot which was full. Unfortunately due to the area there is nothing they can do about parking. I don't live in the area but if I did I would come back as we all had a nice experience.

Great place for paint and sip! The artist was great and explained everything well. I love my gnome painting. Parking sucks but what do you expect in Montclair lol

My son bought me a gift certificate last year for Mother's Day and I just got around to using it. I checked the website for the closest location which was Montclair and then I was able to check the schedule according to a variety of paintings. The painting that I really liked had a class scheduled for a Friday evening at 8:00 pm. We arrived a bit early to the class. Parking was a challenge and after riding around for about 30 minutes and skipping paid parking around the corner at a $10 Lot, we found a spot approximately 5 minutes away. The class was packed. There were a lot of people there yet the hostess explained where the wine was to go (you bring your own), where to get your wine glasses, etc. The hostess was thorough in explaining how to do the painting, she was also patient and kind. I really enjoyed my time at the Paint & Sip and would definitely recommend it. I know I plan on going back soon.

The staff at Pinot is amazing, they make painting your "masterpiece" a piece of cake. I am so happy to have attended, I would probably pass this place a million times and not try it, however it was so much fun, time flew by and I discovered that with the instructors guidance I could create my own "piece of art". During the process it does not feel so, however with every step, you get closer and more confident. The music selection was perfect for the activity, fun-upbeat or melodious-mellow. The couple next to me was hilarious, she was having a "controlled meltdown" every step of the way "omg, why am I so nervous, I don't know where to start" and he was hilarious "I see you are just branches all over, how many more do you need, are you just going to keep branching out?" Even the guys who were here tonight were having a blast. I had so much fun I want to come back with all my friends, I think I want to have my birthday here. Pinot thank you for a fun evening!

I've been to this location twice and it has been a great experience both times. I have to admit, I was a bit nervous about trying a painting class and didn't know what to expect. Those nervous vibes went away fairly quickly into the class. My friend and I brought a bottle of wine and cheese to eat. They provide the wine glasses and dishes for your snacks. Some people in the class go all out and bring a lot of food and snacks, but once you get into painting it's hard to keep refilling your glass/grabbing snacks without loosing your place. The instructors here are excellent - they are willing to help you and make your painting exactly what you want it to be. They give everyone individual attention when needed. When I did the "Paint your Pet" night, I definitely took full advantage of the instructors! For $35-40 for one class, Pinot's Palette is excellent for a girl's night out, or basically any type of outing. They offer Sunday classes as well, which is a nice way to unwind before the start of the week. I definitely recommend trying out a class. One negative is the parking situation, but I've come to expect this with any places in Montclair.

My roommate and I just decided to go out to a paint & sip for the hell of it, and after looking at all the nearby events, we decided this looked like be best one. Did not disappoint! The step-by-step instructions were perfectly detailed and explained, and the staff was extremely patient and kind, especially for how large our class was tonight! I've never been so proud of how a painting at an event like this came out!

Perfect place to unwind and get creative! Grab a friend and a bottle of wine and paint, paint, paint! I highly recommend this spot. It's amazing to see everyone's paintings at the end of class.

LOVE THIS PLACE! I have zero artistic talent whatsoever but I loved how they teach you how to paint. You can relax here alone or with some friends and you are welcome to bring wine, snacks, etc. They provide you with supplies and the smock so you don't need to worry about your clothes getting ruined. All their new month schedules are released on the 15th of each month so be sure to book early because the dates fill up fast! :)

Perfect place for a girls night out! Went here with a bunch of friends and actually rented out the entire space for a private party (we only needed to guarantee 10 or so). The place was bright and spacious and the employees/artists were super helpful. First piece of advice - book in advance - this place is popular! There are a ton of paintings to choose from, and if you have a private party, you can choose your own painting. The instructors are really good artists and their technique is awesome. This isn't one of those places where they already have stuff drawn in for you on the canvas. You do everything. They were able to get a girl like me, who could barely draw a stick figure, to paint a piece that is up in my living room and actually gets compliments! Bottom line, it's really a super fun place to go. Something out of the ordinary where you can still get your drink on. Definitely an experience worth trying! I can't wait to go back!

She is not well suited to for dealing with children, especially those who are creative and think outside the box. When the first kid arrived, she literally tried to send the parent away with "I want the parents to be gone so I can establish my authority" meanwhile the kids go to a special school for behavioral issues. After some words, she finally agreed to have the parents stay but in the back, out of line of sight of the kids. Her tone of voice reflected her totalitarian approach. Multiple kids came to talk to their parents about how mean the teacher was. I understand wrangling kids who are neural divergent can be a challenge, but there is a impactful difference between setting appropriate boundaries vs "Rule with an iron fist" smack downs. The parents can hear how she was treating the kids from the back, no wonder why she wanted them to drop and leave. One of our neighbors had a much younger kid, who stayed in the same room with the kids the whole time, told us Rachel yelled "Shut Up" several times at the kids. I regret having exposed these vulnerable children to someone who is clearly discriminatory. Please learn from my mistake, save your kids from Rachel! If you want a good place with much more talented teachers, go to ArteVino in Milburn instead, so much more friendly, and less stingy about materials. I'm not affiliated with them in anyway, other than us having a kids party there 2 years ago, just wish I went there this time also instead; lessons learned!

They have over 100 locations and host multiple classes every month. You can access the events calendar on their website. Most locations host a class almost every day that are two or three hours long. Weekdays typically have evening class times while weekends can have earlier times. They offer a wide variety of paintings like landscapes, animals, florals, and seasonal themes. They have specialty classes where you can paint a custom portrait, decorate a wine glass or tote bag, or use black light fluorescent (glow-in-the-dark) paint. Because there's alcohol involved, most classes are adults only. However, they do have a select few that are for all ages/family-friendly. Prices range from $30-$55+ per person depending on the class type and time. You can reserve your spot/s online ahead of time. If you're going with a group, you can type in the names of your party in the seating request section so you can all be seated together. We went to the Nutley location on a Friday evening. Street parking was easy to find at this time. The studio has a lively, welcoming, and social atmosphere. They provide you with all of the art supplies - paint, brushes, canvas, easel, aprons. You bring your own drinks and food, but they do supply glassware, corkscrews, ice buckets, plates, napkins, and utensils. Angie was our instructor who led us step-by-step through the painting. She was friendly, enthusiastic, engaging, and easy to follow. This was my third class and I'm definitely no Vincent van Gogh LOL... but I still enjoyed myself. Regardless of your artistic talent, this is a great way to be creative, relax, and socialize in a judgment-free space. All levels of artistry are welcome! You'll actually be surprised at how much of a masterpiece you can create by the end of class ;) Paint & Sip classes are a fun choice for a group bonding activity or celebration! They also do corporate events and private parties. If you're going to be a frequent flyer, don't forget to sign up for their rewards program! You get personalized deals, free events, priority seating, etc.

The painting they had this past Sunday (12/29) looked totally do-able for my kiddos so I signed us up that morning for a 12pm class. My kids were SO excited. I brought some snacks and kid friendly drinks with us and we got there 15 minutes early. We were the first ones there and our palettes and paints were waiting for us. They had aprons for kids and we put our stuff in cubbies. Once the other groups arrived we began painting. Our instructor (I totally forget her name and I feel so bad) was absolutely fantastic. She took her time explaining each piece of the painting and how were were going to create everything. She was very patient and answered everyone's questions. She walked around to make sure everyone was on the same page and that we had enough paint. She gave little tips that helped make the painting process easier. It was so much fun! My son had a little trouble with the painting and was getting a bit frustrated (he hated his tree) but he continued on, followed the directions, and did his best. I was so proud of him. He is a bit younger than the recommended age but he enjoys guided drawings so I thought he might enjoy it. In the end, he was happy to have a fun, finished product. My daughter had a great time. And I always LOVE a good paint and sip. I will definitely be back to Pinot's Palette in Nutley. I love that it's so close to me and they have so many events and different paintings to choose from.
