First time at Sun Peaks and first ever visit to Pinnacle Lodge thanks to my work place. The place is very tranquil and staff is super friendly. They make you feel at home right away. Breakfast has a very good variety and the afternoon tea offers the moat delicious scones!! The rooms are ample and perfectly adequate for one's needs. Gym and hot tub available too. The village is in walking minutes.

I've stayed here a couple times, I always enjoy myself and the view is spectacular from all the rooms! The hot breakfast rotates daily, and there's always the breakfast essentials. The rooms are cozy and the staff always makes sure that they pay close attention to details to ensure your stay is as pleasant as possible. Can't wait to come back again!

Great for us. New name - Sundance Lodge, not Coast. Best location for ski in/out and good value…read more Clean, beds comfortable, kitchen or a kitchenette in every room. The staff treats us like family. Premium room is worth it if you do serious cooking. Agreed: groomers are noisy and run all night. (We ask for a relatively quieter room and a village view and we use white noise). Yes, it was built in 1996, but we like the feel of it being older. We're 70+ skiers. We like that one can go right out the ski room door and ski downhill 100'ish to the Sundance lift at 8:30. A short walk across the road under the covered bridge to Morrisey can be great for first tracks when there's new snow. Access is so easy we take a mid day break in the room. You can ski all downhill to the door from the Rambler or Sunrise. (see the map). The highlight for us is the guided tours by the Sun Peaks Hosts. They'll guide you to the best areas, away from the fog, wind, ice, hardpack etc. We love the Sundance and have returned year after year since 2013. Seattle and Bellingham Washington.

We stopped by in October and stayed for only one night. It was off season at the ski resort so we got a room at a great value and it was very quiet. It's a beautiful location and I can imagine how busy it must get during the snow season because it was dead when we were there. Most of the village shops and some of the restaurants were open when we were there. We were able to get dinner at a pizza spot and breakfast, but the village was nearly deserted. The rooms are outdated and old. I did enjoy that the room was huge and big enough for a big family. There was a small kitchenette, a dining table, fireplace, and a TV. The bed was comfortable, very clean and there were no bedbugs. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and engaging she even gave us advice on where to park at.

Avoid working with Bear Country Vacation Rentals! God forbid you or your family get sick and you…read moreneed to change your reservations. You will be told "no" and they will keep your money ... in our case $2800. Wish we had realized what we had committed to when we booked back in October for a New Year Ski Trip. They required full amount within 30-days of arrival, then the property manager was unwilling to work with us after our family came down with COVID over Christmas. VRBO and Air B&B offer larger (~1,000+ sq ft) accommodations with private hot tubs, and modernized ski-in/ski-out locations for the same price if not less which I wish we had done instead of working with Bear Country. We looked at their 10+ yr old videos online and saw just how itty bitty and out dated their accommodations were that average ~550 sq ft with a community hot tub. EW. We booked 3 days of lift tickets, ice-fishing trip, and horse drawn carriage ride and everyone except Bear Country worked with us to reschedule our reservations for the end of Jan 2023. Greed over Customer Service loses every time. We'll never work with Bear Country EVER again and we've shared this with the skiing community in the greater Seattle, BC, Colorado, Texas, California, and everything in-between both family and friends. Only book here if you're really hard up, and pray you don't have an issue showing up, as they will keep your money. AVOID!

This hotel is getting a bit run down. We had a tiny room that barely fit our family of 4 (2…read moreadults, 2 kids). 2 Queen beds and pillows were a bit lumpy. No minibar fridge in our room at all (I don't recall staying in any hotel room in the past 10 years without a mini fridge!!). Room lacked a lot of good lighting. Washrooms were old and shower heads very weak. Not much hot water either during certain times of day (eg. 4pm). Hated the ski storage room, which you have to walk thru their basement parking lot full of car exhaust fumes. The tiny ski storage room doesn't have any lockers, instead they cram a few racks of ski keys locks for you to hang your skis on. Luckily, the staff working there are very friendly, and the location is great as it's a short 5-10 min walk to all major places in the sun peaks village area. Taking the kids to ski school each morning was very easy, as you have to walk up one flight of stairs with your skis and your right on a green run called the Gentle Giant, which you can ski right to the main lodge where ski school begins at 9am each morning. Free popcorn during the movie nights in the hotel main floor meeting room.

We usually stay at the Delta, but thought we would try the Cahitly after reading some of the reviews on TripAdvisor. When we booked we explained that we would have our bikes with us and were told that as long as we were careful we could bring them in to our room. We brought some old towels to protect the carpet. When we checked in the young woman at the front desk was very nice and helpful. The room was nice and clean and the hotel was close to the lift. On the day we checked out we had packed the car and had brought our clean bikes through the lobby to load onto the rack. While we were waiting in line to check out, a woman charged up the front steps and started shouting at my husband. She told him that he wasn't allowed to have his bike in the lobby. She was extremely rude and wouldn't let him get a word in. There were other people waiting to check out and they were looking at us...We were very embarrassed. We understand that there are rules and we would have gladly obeyed by not having our bikes in the lobby. However, nobody told us about this rule when we checked in...or when we came through the lobby with our bikes during the 2 days we were there. We also weren't made aware of any other entrances we could have used. After loading the bikes on to the rack, my husband and I went back in to speak to the woman who had shouted at us about our bikes. She saw us coming and was immediately defensive. Once again wouldn't allow us to speak and just talked loudly over us. We were very upset and simply decided to leave. It's too bad. The Cahilty was a decent hotel. But I don't think we deserved to be shouted at and belittled in front of everyone in the lobby. So we will gladly take our business back to the Delta next time we're at Sun Peaks.
