I thought I was getting a great rate when I refinanced my car with Veridian credit union, but once…read moreI realized and included all of their hidden fees and commissions to themselves, it's nothing that you can't get at literally any other bank and you'll get much better, more professional service. This bank doesn't care about its members in the least.

Went in to exchange coins for cash. I do not (nor will I ever now) have an account with them. I…read morechatted with a CSR and informed me that they do count coins but if you didn't have an account with them it is like a 5% charge of the total. I agreed and went to the nearest location to where I was. Upon arriving in the closest drive thru window, I was told I needed to come inside so they can check my ID and get some information. Little inconvenient for getting paper money for coins but I did it anyway. After going inside, I needed to present my ID so they could "build a profile" on me for their records. Never have been asked to do that ever! At this point I'm committed since I've been in there for close to 10 mins already so I gave them my ID. Then the kicker...they asked for my SSN. When I asked the Rep why he said it was "company policy" and I was confused. I'm not opening an account, not looking for credit, just giving you my coins for paper cash. He said that's what he was told to do. So I asked to speak with the branch manager. This arrogant fella (that's putting it nicely with the initials TC) comes over with hella attitude and eyes rolling already because he was near when I was asking questions. This brilliant fella tells me that any time "ANY TIME" currency is exchanged the government requires the information. Me standing there dumbfounded explains that I currency is "exchanged" every day at stores, gas stations, restaurants, etc and ZERO of those places ask for ID or my SSN when I hand them a $20 bill and ask for two $10 bills back! I enjoyed the couple side snickers of enjoyment from the reps/tellers up front as it seemed his demeanor isn't great with coworkers either. At this point I was upset and she was already done counting my money and the machine had it. Hind sight, I should have just said no and made them give me back my change, but I felt bad for the rep helping me as he trying to be understanding and also didn't understand why they asked for it. So I gave the SSN and said that's if my info is given out, or I get mailings or phone calls regarding Veridian, I will be back to have a very, VERY unpleasant conversation with Mr. Chader. Funny thing was, the manager tells the rep that if he needs anything, he will be over there doing more important things with his time. Great customer service skills there buddy! This company must be hard up for workers or must be a family friend of someone in HR. I'd stay very clear of this location and from other reviews, this company in general! Especially if they are taking personal information for currency exchanges. Remember, the last company to do something similar to this was Wells Fargo. They built fake accounts to hit new account numbers! Seems like it's about the same thing!

If you are going through divorce and trying to buy a home (even if you are a "normal" home buyer) -…read moredo yourself a favor and DO NOT look any further than Mortgage Specialists! Not only did they deliver knocking it out of the park, they made it almost effortless on my part! My situation: third home I've purchased over years, going through the divorce process without final decree, hectic schedule balancing work/life, selling a home at the same time, repairs needed to home, kids and activities. I don't think Mortgage Specialists do themselves enough service in advertising to people in my situation of going through a divorce. I started my pre-approval process with a "big bank" which has serviced all my previous mortgages and/or refinances in one form or another over the years, and never had problems with them (smooth in fact). The pre-approval questionnaire for me was easy - I make enough and my credit is excellent - they said no problems getting me approved. Then underwriting happens and that is where the divorce will stop your approval in its tracks. For two months I sat in underwriting at the "big bank" trying to get over the hurdle of having a "separation agreement" calling out my duty/lack thereof for child support and alimony. Without this, I would not go further. I tapped into my personal network and connections and approached 3 other lenders and all threw up the same roadblock on financing and not being able to approve without the divorce decreed separation agreement. Then, I was referred to Brent @ Mortgage Specialists. From the moment that we started the conversation, Brent assured me that all hope shouldn't be lost. Taking the time for me to gather my own documentation out of the picture, Mortgage Specialist had the pre-aproval done in less than one day. Then they sent my file to underwriting and a couple days later I was approved with a valid offer letter in hand. Weeks of hopelessness with other companies resolved in a matter of days/week with Mortgage Specialists. Brent was the "face man" for Mortgage Specialists, but I interacted with the rest of his team as well. Every person and every interaction was met with little to no effort from me - they walked me through / held my hand in the whole process. Their communication and response time was timely, a few examples of a couple hour response time even after business hours and on weekends! Brent even met me at closing to shake my hand and offer any more service than they did up to that point. I wish my previous home purchases would have been handled by these guys, I will not look any further in the future. From start to finish, they FAR exceeded any sort of expectation I could've ever had. Awesome job, and thank you to them!
